    The first mactch I ever saw of Alycia Parks she was walloping a player who had been ranked as high as #1- Pliskova. At first I thought it was Serena, then Venus. And then I realized this is a new talent. Why haven't I heard of her before? I have been following her amazing progress and cheering for her ever since. Glad that she has finally arrived to the big stage. Go Alycia!

      I am a fan but I feel that it's too early to say that she is the real deal.Shs is age twenty three and at this at age does not at yet seem to have control of her game; she makes too many unforced errors ( as evidenced in her match against Coco yesterday and in other matches that I have seen her play ).
      I wish her all the best and would like to see her go far.

    Great win over Fernandez. While I do believe Coco is the best player in the world at the moment Parks can trouble anybody with her gigantic game. Coco is hands down the best defender in women tennis and Parks is perhaps the most powerful player in the game. It makes their battle really intriguing and I can't wait for it.

    • @Ruby-dk3tw
      @Ruby-dk3tw 7 месяцев назад +4

      Really interesting comment, since Coco has so much to prove this slam. Not just against Iga or Raducanu but Andreeva first. Iga is queen of the bagels recently. Raducanu bageled Azarenka two days after bageling Serena Williams in Cincinnati (while apparently in a slump) and Mirra bageled Ons Jabeur last night. As I say Coco has to prove her recent form on the big stage. As a Coco fan, I hope she steps up to the mark. As for Parks being the most powerful, haven't you heard of Sabalenca, lol

    • @cola7ups823
      @cola7ups823 7 месяцев назад +2

      Gauff is no where near the best player in the world. Alycia Parks can beat Gauff, if she stays low on the unforced error, because anyone who watches tennis consistently knows Gauff relies heavily on her opponents unforced errors. That is how she won the US Open. Sabalenka hit 41 unforced errors.

    • @Ruby-dk3tw
      @Ruby-dk3tw 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@cola7ups823 I agree that Coco is always beatable but not right now by Alysia (no evidence other than wishful thinking) But I'm hoping for a close one, I don't have a stake in it. I backed Andreeva against Coco at Roland Garros when she had her measure and Andreeva also lost it again mentally when she had her match sewn up against Madison Keys. now I've had a decent bet on her at 28/1. If she doesn't win, at least she's been great value.

    • @Ruby-dk3tw
      @Ruby-dk3tw 7 месяцев назад +2

      Did someone mention bagels? 🙂

    • @ohaggie
      @ohaggie 7 месяцев назад +1

      @cola7ups823 - Hmmm, interesting. You stated that Parks can beat Gauff but I never believed it and indeed, Parks lost during their Aus. Open match. Parks and Gauff are on 2 different levels and it showed during their 3rd round match. Perhaps the nerves got to Parks as she doesn’t have much experience in playing on big stages compared to Coco. Anyway, with much development in ball placement and her overall game, Parks has room for improvements.

  • @Ruby-dk3tw
    @Ruby-dk3tw 7 месяцев назад +23

    Honest appraisal here. I was really surprised that she beat Fernandez today because up till now I'd not seen much from her even though she has a good physique that is a bit Serena-like. But sometimes it takes a really big tournament and the ambience of it and the right mix of things to ignite that first spark. I don't think for one minute that she will have sufficient weapons yet to beat Coco let alone any of the other big names in this tournament, but I see her as a work in progress with a very bright future. Popcorn anyone for the Gauff match ?

    • @dre882
      @dre882 7 месяцев назад +16

      she's beaten Garcia in a 250 final. She's beaten Azarenka on clay. She beat Sakkari, Pliskova, Qinwen Zheng, etc. so she definitely has the game to do well here and anywhere. Just needs more match play and consistency.

    • @Ruby-dk3tw

There will probably be no next Navratilova or Graff or Williams as was shown again this tournament by Iga who has one hard slam and three clay slams. on any given day, I'd say anyone in the top 200 can win any match, it's incremental differences between the champions and the pack.
