    I loved Jana! She was based on Rima, a character from the book Green Mansions. The character from that book, Rima, was adapted into DC comics. Curiously, Jana's necklace was similar in look and gimmick as Xena's throwing disc.

      In the original Tarzan books, Tarzan leaves the jungle briefly after he finds out that he is the Earl of Greystoke. He goes to England, getting an education. However, he is not happy with his life in civilization and returns to the jungle. The animated series takes place after his return to the jungle.

      @@GENXPERIENCE I remember growing up ABC,NBC and CBS would have some type of Friday evening variety show twice a year highlighting the new cartoons coming out that season which would be the next day. Cheeta the Chimp was one of Tarzan's animal friends not featured in the animated series. Nkima was Tarzan's bff in this series.

    • @GENXPERIENCE
      @GENXPERIENCE  2 месяца назад

      True, Cheeta was made up for the 1930s movies, so they wanted to keep the monkey from the book for this series.

    Listen to the lone ranger and tarzan radio shows

  • @billgrindler4653
    @billgrindler4653 2 месяца назад

    My memory of the Tarzan/Lone Ranger/Zorro show was that I always wanted to see The Lone Ranger more than the other two, as the 1950 series was being shown on weekdays in my area and I had the Gabriel Lone Ranger and Tonto dolls ... um .... action figures, but it seems like I never saw the Ranger as I watching something else during that portion of the show. Looking at Saturday morning TV schedules I guess it was the Super Friends, Thundar or The Smurfs. I think the The Lone Ranger could still work today, but he shouldn't be "modernized" or just have a decent script which the CW's revival attempt or the Johnny Depp feature film did not have.

    • @GENXPERIENCE
      @GENXPERIENCE  2 месяца назад

      Agreed that a more authentic take in that period would help make the LR work today. Westerns are a gamble, though. I did like all 3 of the cartoons, but i would catch them randomly, too. Others were my first choice. Thanks for the comment.

    Pantheon is a modern (tragically canceled early) western show that could be called "True to life." It starts as "next Sunday AD" with gruesome techno-crimes and cults of personality and, while I'm still early, know that it gets wilder as technology accelerates owing to an information war between uploaded minds.
