The early Victorian Sixpence does it for me. A good price for it too.

good job on that old half crown, a few years ago I was fortunate to pick up the 1841. I like that you show and talk about coins that are easily obtainable for regular hobby collectors.

Some nice pieces, Ethan. You're doing well with your local antique shop. I really hope that is an 1842 half crown. As to a favourite? My vote goes to the George VI 3d - that design always gets to me

I can understand low nominal coins of good quality being hard to get, because they get more use in circulation.

I wish you would show us your comparing your silver coin purchases with those already in your collection to find the better examples

The 1842(?) half crown is very worn, but if its one you dont have then acquiring it is understandable, however, in my opinion you should maybe haggle to get the price down. I have a same design 1886, and its one of my favourites it sits alongside my 1849 gothic florin, thats not in quite so good condition.
My approach is very different, if a coin is really nice, i might pay £20 - £40, but if its too worn, im not interested. Im more about good examples than date runs, I do the date run thing in sovereigns.

I love that 1826 shilling! Do you do the date runs for your personal collection or to sell it if you don't mind me asking
