The 1842(?) half crown is very worn, but if its one you dont have then acquiring it is understandable, however, in my opinion you should maybe haggle to get the price down. I have a same design 1886, and its one of my favourites it sits alongside my 1849 gothic florin, thats not in quite so good condition. My approach is very different, if a coin is really nice, i might pay £20 - £40, but if its too worn, im not interested. Im more about good examples than date runs, I do the date run thing in sovereigns.
