THIS IS NOT A TUTORIAL! It is more of a daily personal diary, or perhaps a vlog, centered around the building of plastic model ships. Don’t be surprised when I unexpectedly, but usually just momentarily, get into something completely unrelated. I was big into building models years ago. Apparently I’m trying to bring back “the good old days” by building plastic model ships. Feel free to learn from my mistakes while I muddle through this.
Congratulations on bringing your next build to the model table. Warm regards from South Africa
👍
Nice one Ron be watching the build with interest
A new kit day is always exciting looking forward to seeing it,another good one Ron 👍
Thanks 👍
Good morning Ron. Great show and finally yes finally you bought her home i bet your itching to open the box it's gonna be very exciting to see this build. Anyways you take great care and catch you tomorrow regards Rod 🎉🎉🎉
😁👍
Ron’ great video with snow car clearing a ride to shop, a new model not forgetting missy 😂. Happy everything Ron.
Thanks 👍
I don't know about anybody else but after watching you for the builds of the Bismarck thru the Sub I have noticed that your finished models are always a credible job. Maybe not what I would have done but the end result is fine. Also you come up with many ideas, tools and products that I now have in my shop. Keep it up I watch every day.
Thank you Michael 👍
New kit day!!! Nice episode Ron. See you tomorrow!
Thanks Ted 👍
Hi Ron, I love your channel just the way it is. I’m sure you get a ton of advice, but in all honesty, it’s refreshing seeing the trials and tribulations of your builds rather than something that is extremely polished. I started watching your channel years ago and I tune in for your charm and humor. I recently lost my mother due to dementia and your channel has always been a good distraction. Thank you
Thanks for sharing that. I can totally understand what you mean about it being a good distraction. A few years ago when I was losing both my mother and my wife I found myself binge watching Downton Abbey over and over again. I had every episode on my computer. Helps you to escape! 👍
Hey Ron, excellent episode tonight, hey congratulations on getting your Enterprise, that is going to be an awesome build, see you tomorrow for the box opening. 👍👍👍👍😀
Yep! Box opening tomorrow. Thanks Dan 👍
You might frustrate me Mr Margoo but it's your build and it always looks good at the end Ron.
👍
Good episode, Ron. Can't wait for the unboxing. I will be comparing your 1/200 Enterprise to my 1/350 one, just out of curiosity. 1/350 is the largest scale ship model that I build.. at least for now. Since getting back into modeling 2 years ago, I've acquired a bit of a stash. Anyway, I mentioned to my wife that I might want to try a 1/200 ship. She said, "You want a larger one???!!! Why stop at 1/200. Get a full sized model, build it, and then you can take your stash and other stuff and move into it!!" 🤣🤣 Needless to say, I will be sticking with 1/350 for now. 😁😁😁
Have a great evening and I will see you tomorrow!!!🙂
Hi Brian. There's nothing wrong with 1/350 scale! There's a lot of choice out there that's for sure. Much more than 1/200 👍
@roncalverley Yes, there is a large choice of 1/350, that's for sure. I really have been eyeing that Trumpeter 1/200 Titanic, though. I built the old 1/350 Entex one (which I believe is the same kit you built... correct?). My skills are a lot better now, so I would kinda another shot at it... we'll see,
though. Thanks, Ron.👍
OH BOY!
New kit! : )
😁
Hi Ron, good episode, its great to see you pick up your Enterprise kit. Anxious to see what's in the box! See you tomorrow. 😊😁
Hi Gary,
We'll look in the box tomorrow. 🤞
Hehe, "Does my hair look ok?" 👴
You still got it, Ron! 🕺
😁👍
My dog piper watches with me. She loves it when missy comes on. Goes bonkers.
Hi *"Piper"* 🐶👍
Hi Ron, Good to see you have a stash again! 🙂
Have a good evening.
Yes! Finally! Thanks 👍
Great episode tonight Ron. Congratulations on getting your Enterprise. I think i will definitely have to do a box opening now for sure lol. Enjoy staring at that box, i know i stared at the Uboat for quite some time yesterday. Take care n see you tomorrow. Btw. I believe i picked up the same kit you’re working on.
😁👍
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Hi Ron, yep paint the wire grey lol sounds familiar 😊! But when you don’t know, it looks normal, I’ve been watching 1/16 Amour builds lately, the details in those models is over the top , working hatches , even welds! At the end, half of the details you’ll never see , just like those wires 😊😊😊😊! A box opening , tomorrow, looking forward to it 😊😊😊😊see you tomorrow
Hi marc,
Yes, there is no question about it! Some of those models are detailed absolutely beautifully. You would need a super macro to find a flaw. I'm afraid that's not my cup of tea! I can appreciate it, but I can't do it. See you tomorrow for the box opening. 🤞
19:00 Oh, how I miss that! See ya. JimE
I'll bet you do, haha! 👍
Hi Ron,don't have that outer door open on the tube that's open on the inside or boats gonna sink !!!😂😂
Haha! 😁
Will the torpedo tube ‘doors’ be visible from the other side? If so they’ll need painting too. Just a thought.
Hi Mark,
Yes, I painted both sides 👍
Ron we tied the Record high temperature of 55 degree Fahrenheit going all the way back to 1896. 😎 Our average temperature should be 28 degrees. Our record low for today was -27 back in 1966. 🥶
Spring is coming! 😁
Good show today, I believe I would just glue the torpedo doors closed on the painted side and maybe consider opening them on the clear side
Good thought! We'll see! 👍
Hey Ron , you can get a 1000 tips still it is YOURE build and can do whatever you feel like doing to it , like they say : everybody got a suggestion and that is just what it is . Just keep building . 😁😁👍👍
Thanks for the tip 😁
It is just plain money grabbing to need to take a picture EVERY 5 years , in the age of digitalization they can it all have on file . And they do not coming to tell me that youre face change that much in 5 years that you not look just the same as the previous picture . 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Meh... really a non-issue. I have to get a new driver's license in my state every 4 years, and the cost is the same whether they take a new photo or not, whether I renew by mail, on-line, or in person at the Registry.
There was no extra charge.
