Pink Floyd is one of the best bands that's ever been (literally) and they're a genre all to themselves. You can have rock, blues, funk, techno, fast, slow...all in one song. I cannot recommend enough that you listen to more Pink Floyd. They've influenced musicians of every genre for over 50 years. Please don't let the length of some of their songs dissuade you from listening to them, they always leave you wanting more. And for something truly fabulous watch their concert from the Pulse tour played at Earl's Court, London, 1994. Happy listening. You'll be forever changed. ✌🏽😊💗 I'd like to recommend *Time*, *Hey You*, *Comfortably Numb*, *Have a Cigar*, and the whole *Animals* album. That's just to start. Pink Floyd albums follow a theme and each song is part of the story they are telling. It is always good to listen to the entire album, but each song has a standalone story to tell. You absolutely nailed the theme of this song and I agree with you that this song is as pertinent today as it was in 1979 when this album was released. Pink Floyd was the band I listened to most when I was a teenager in the 1970s, and I still listen to them to this day. I always enjoy your reactions, but I particularly LOVED your commentary on this video. I love how honest and thoughtful you all are. These days, I feel like so many people I grew up with have just given up on the idea that all people deserve to be who they want to be, and are just calling everyone who has empathy or who doesn't agree with them "WOKE", as if that's an insult. I am 62 and if wanting all people to be able to follow their dreams and have equal opportunities for success is woke, than I am proud to be woke. Another song from this album that I think you would like is Comfortably Numb. The guitar solo in that song is considered by many, including me, to be the one of the best ever played. David Gilmour, the guitarist for Pink Floyd, doesn't just play the guitar, he makes it sing and it conveys as much emotion as the lyrics and vocalists do. This comment got way too long, but I love Pink Floyd and could talk for days about them. 🤣
Agreed, except if you do _Comfortably Numb_ PLEASE do the live Pulse '94 concert video & not the wrong one of _those_ either. Apparently even including that amount of detail in a recommendation isn't enough. To my dismay, there's a clip that fits that description as well but _ISN'T_ the right one. And it's wrong enough to be annoying. I'll try to come back with the link, but for now, on my behalf let me request: _Have A Cigar_ _Money_ _Time_ *but w/a caveat "Do the '73 album/studio version, _NO_ live, Pulse, unplugged, remixed, remastered or 5Oth anniversary versions, please & ty.
"You gotta grow old and die" Check a double track combo Pink Floyd "Time" followed immediately by "The Great Gig in the Sky" These are on The Dark Side of the Moon (that's the T-Shirt album) Life, followed by the deepest dive into the emotions surrounding Death you will ever hear!
This was a huge hit but the album "Dark Side of The Moon" was mire successful overall. It holds the record for most weeks on the charts. Over 700 weeks, also 4th best selling album of all time. The song "Money" from that album is the lyrics you heard the teacher reading.
If you listen to Mother on this album, it is about his mother suffocating him. I watched other reactors thinking it's a nice song on Mother's. The Wall should be listened to from start to finish as it is a whole story.

The 4 albums in sequence ..Dark side of the moon, wish you were here..animals... the wall... PLEASE! You will love it . P.S. Dark Side of the moon spent 20 years straight on Billboard 500. I GiVE YOU A 100% GUARANTEED SATISFACTION!!!
As stated earlier, you'll have to listen to Dark Side of the Moon ... songs in order, both sides! The 'poem' the teacher quoted at the beginning is the lyrics to "Money" from Dark Side of the Moon. Another unique song is "Young Lust". One of my favorites. Dark Side of the Moon one of the best selling albums worldwide of all time (over 40 million). The Wall is on the list with 30+ million sold.
Austerity kills, no doubt. Pink Floyd dropped The Wall in 1979. "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2" was the lead single from the album. I was twelve and almost half-way through eighth grade. The song was huge back then, plastered all over the radio. Some parents freaked over the chorus, some teachers freaked over the chorus, but most did not. As kids we could tell which adults were cool and which weren't to the extent they freaked over this song. There are actually four parts: "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 1", "The Happiest Days of Our Lives", "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2", "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 3". The first three parts run in sequence on side one of the first record of The Wall. Part three sets up the last song on side two of the first record, "Goodbye Cruel World". What you saw there was an extract from the film adaptation they made a few years later. The Wall culminated a run of exceptional albums from Pink Floyd -- The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and Animals. All four albums are more than worthy to listen to in their entirety straight through in one setting, especially The Dark Side of the Moon.
One of the founding members, Syd Barrett, listened to an album by two older black blues musicians from North Carolina, PINK Anderson and FLOYD Council. He was blown away and inspired by their raw bluesy sound and wanted to emulate that. He talked the other band members into naming the band; "The Pink Floyd Sound" in homage to those two old gentlemen and also as a declaration of what he envisioned the band to become. Later, the name was reduced to just "Pink Floyd". Inspired by old time North Carolina Blues! They are a band with no equal! They never recorded a love song, always had something to say!
A great conversation, gentlemen. I was nodding my head through it. If I can be the older guy in the room for a moment...The late 60's and early 70's were up heaving society; shattering norms. And it was the youth who were doing it. Yes, there were older men and women; MLK,Jr being one leader. But the movements, the evolution, the revolution, was the under 30 crowd pushing for change. And our music reflected that, in a cycle feeding it, and being fed by that changing unknown new world that we knew we all needed. I believe that we almost made it. We tried. I never stopped trying. Artists don't create for the money. We create because we must. Whether it's visual or sounds, words or dance, we do it because it's true to our very being...our being in this world. I hope more Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin, and Steely Dan, and other artists bring inspiration to you all. 🙂
Went to see this and they actually built the wall. Giant school teacher pointing to crowd. Helicopters (replicas) flying over the crowd. It was "the wall from start to end) of album. Only did very few shows of The Wall. I was lucky. Never seen anything like it. Unbelievably unique. Hi boys. Live watching you. Love from London. Jan 😊
My favorite band of all time. This song is so iconic and important. It’s about how education systems beat the individuality out of children. To make them conform. The kids rebelled in this song, giving them back their voices.
You should watch the movie. It’s very long, but it’s a psychedelic art piece in itself. My favorite Floyd song is Comfortably Numb…… a must hear for new fans!
You have a great reaction! You will need to do a full album reaction sometime soon as it is a full story. Great stuff guys!!! Also, you guys are helping to erase the divisions being placed upon us all by doing these. Love you gents, cheers from a white guy in frozen Canada lol!
A very enjoyable and thoughtful reaction by you guys! Pink Floyd is truly in a class by themselves. You really should go through the songs on an album in order before moving onto the next album. Dark Side of the Moon should be your next album after this one. It is an experience.
No band on earth like Pink Floyd, they are Legendary! I was fortunate enough to get tickets to a performance of "The Wall" concert at The Nassau Coliseum, in Uniondale Long Island NY, on February 25th 1980, I was 23 years old. It was an experience of a lifetime, to say the least!! Pink Floyd tickets always sell out almost immediately, even more so for these concerts because there were so few of them. Pink Floyd scheduled and performed only 12 concerts of "The Wall" in the U.S. in 1980, far, far less than their other world tour dates in the US, which are/were usually around 40 to 60 concert dates in the U.S. The reason for so few dates was due to the massive undertaking of putting on a show of this SIZE and magnitude and tour it! Logistically alone was a huge nightmare. "The Wall" Show was the most incredible performance of any kind, that I've ever seen in my 68 years on this planet. Words fail in this context to do it justice, research what actually went on at a "The Wall" concerts.
Pink Floyd are their OWN genre! Start with the early stuff and work your way forward. Starting with the latest stuff and going backwards will drive you nuts!!! and seem counter logical in sequence. Plus if you start with the earlier stuff, you will then identify with 'elements' in the early stuff in later songs, showing how they've changed it, used it or expanded on a theme. Try, as many will tell you, to expose yourself to full album listens/recordings at one time (even if you only release you reactions one song at a time) as the songs and albums were meant to be experienced in this way - all together in one sitting. ENJOY THE GREAT RIDE AHEAD!
The greatest of Pink Floyd can be seen very easily in the reaction & conversation their music provokes. You'll still be thinking about and discussing what you listen to for weeks, or months, or even years. And it's not just about the music that takes you on a journey, it's the timeless lyrics that hit hard no matter your background or your age. This is a deep rabbit hole you're headed down. Enjoy the ride! :)
If you guys ever do an album reaction, The Wall is such an epic listen. As far as songs go, Comfortably Numb is worth a reaction. Keep up the good work, loving the reactions 👍

Grew up poor and white in the South. These bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, etc. These things are like some kind of cultural touchstone for those of us that came up in the 80s. It was like some sort of secret knowledge.
Hey - the poem that the boy is reading - these are lyrics from another of Pink Floyd’s incredible songs; “MONEY”. You have to do a reaction to that one!
This video is a clip from the movie, highly recommend watching. Pink Floyd....deep lyrics over perfect music! Dive in, Dark Side of the Moon album in it's entirety can change your life😁
This band has sold over 300 million albums. Here is a list of well known songs. Time, shine on you crazy diamond, young lust. Wish you were here, have a cigar.
I'm late, but this is my favorite band, they did 4 "best albums in Space Time", starting with Dark Side of The Moon and closing with The Wall. A unique style/genre, deep lyrics, moving music, a great band "lore"... I love all from their first album up to The Wall, after that, it's not the same. But until that, they are GOAT.
So this was pt 2 it was the one that charted. The others are much shorter. There is the album of the wall and it's also a movie that the video was taken from. But floyd over all is one of the greatest rock groups ever. I think comfortably numb is my favorite song from that album. But they are so much more than just the wall . The album darkside of the mood may very well be one of if not the best album of all time. I would check out tgat album but you need to listen to the album as a whole all at once. Its quite an experience.
There are just a handful of artists or bands that are truly unique and transcendent and have left their mark upon the world like Pink Floyd. The band originated as one of the pioneers of psychedelic rock in the 60's and have evolved to a more progressive rock incorporate elements of Jazz, Blues, Funk to create a category of their own. They have mastered the art of the plottingly slow chugging groove. This is the one band that actually transports you on a journey. Their music is thoughfully crafted to be consumed over the duration of an entire album. The track Another Brick in the Wall happens to be one of a handful of tracks that have and could be extracted out from the overall theme and can stand in its own into a single. The album with the Iconic Prism that is mentioned is their most successful album know as Dark Side of the Moon. The album was released in 1973 and was their 8th studio album. This album is considered a perfect album and as masterpiece, it has been rated as one of the greatest albums of all-time where it has charted for 981 weeks on the US Billboard charts. As of 2013, The Dark Side of the Moon has sold over 45 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling album of the 1970s and the fourth-best-selling album in history. An incredible feat considering the album like all of Floyds work is not condusive to be in the form of a single. Although the track "TIME" & "MONEY" has been used as the primary singles that has had significant radio play. The album as whole should be experienced from begining to end. DARK SIDE IF THE MOON would mark the begining possibly the greatest stretch of any band can claim, all masterpieces. This would include another masterpiece known as WISH YOU WERE HERE in 1975. Followed by ANIMALS in 1977 and concluding with THE WALL in 1979. All worthy of checking out and reviewing.
You all need to sit down with your choice of comfort and watch The Wall and then sit and listen to the entire Dark Side of the Moon album! They are experiences that are a must with this band! I love all their music and they are timeless, one of my favourites is "Have a Cigar"; perfect picture of the entertainment industry!
This album delves into the idea of fascism and its roots pretty heavily. Pretty amazing movie too and this is from the movie. The album version is a little different. Good conversation!
Check out “Time” off their album The Dark Side of the moon. You will appreciate their musicianship and their lyrics tend to have unexpected messages. The Wall came out in ‘79 but holds true today. The Pink Floyd rabbit hole runs deep-I envy that you guys will get to discover their music for the first time. Also their albums are meant to be listened to from end to end-they make more sense that way. But The Wall is one of my favorites and is considered a classic.
Most Floyd albuns are small worlds to get lost into, but The Wall is a rabbit hole you could basean entire thesis on the human condition and human behaviour. Worth to dive in.
The poem the teacher reading early in this song is actually the lyrics from Pink Flyod's famous song "Money" (from one of the greatest albums of all time - 'Dark Side of the Moon')
Pink Floyd is a band that you could truthfully apply the word “majestic” to. Their songs can give you chills. They can create a sense of awe. Their music can feel transcendent. And I’m not remotely engaging in hyperbole. There were other stupendous bands (The Beatles, Queen Led Zeppelin and others) but Pink Floyd will always be utterly unique to themselves. PLEASE give yourselves a great musical gift and listen to more Floyd. Perhaps start with their biggest selling album, Dark Side of the Moon ( the T-shirts with the pyramid and the light spectrum is the symbol of that album) and react in order of the tracks. Google how long this album charted. It was for OVER 15 consecutive YEARS..1973-1988. That has never been equalled. If you could say that ANY bands music will be played 100 years or more from now, it would be Pink Floyd.
I remember standing outside Sam Goody when I was 15 in 1980 waiting for the midnight sale release of The Wall, this album is about as perfect as Dark side of the moon,in my opinion.
That “poem” the little boy was writing is from the song “Money” - by Pink Floyd

Apparently even including that amount of detail in a recommendation isn't enough. To my dismay, there's a clip that fits that description as well but _ISN'T_ the right one. And it's wrong enough to be annoying. I'll try to come back with the link, but for now, on my behalf let me request:
_Have A Cigar_
_Money_
_Time_ *but w/a caveat
"Do the '73 album/studio version, _NO_ live, Pulse, unplugged, remixed, remastered or 5Oth anniversary versions, please & ty.
"You gotta grow old and die"
Check a double track combo
Pink Floyd "Time"
followed immediately by
"The Great Gig in the Sky"
These are on The Dark Side of the Moon (that's the T-Shirt album)
Life, followed by the deepest dive into the emotions surrounding Death you will ever hear!
Try time next. You guys will certainly relate to it. Great reaction fellers to a band that is at a level all of their own 👍❤🏴
This was a huge hit but the album "Dark Side of The Moon" was mire successful overall. It holds the record for most weeks on the charts. Over 700 weeks, also 4th best selling album of all time. The song "Money" from that album is the lyrics you heard the teacher reading.
Best poet of the 20th century. I was an English Teacher and I'm a poet. Brilliant album. Work of pure art. Musically and lyrically
Comfortably Numb and Sorrow from the live Pulse Concert! The whole Concert is phenomenal! Thank you guys!
If you listen to Mother on this album, it is about his mother suffocating him. I watched other reactors thinking it's a nice song on Mother's. The Wall should be listened to from start to finish as it is a whole story.
Love your channel bros!! Cracked up right along with you during the Bill Burr viewing!!! You guys are getting into some epic music here.. if you're into smoking herb and head music with super deep meaning, youve just opened the door to an experience you wont forget EVER! Start with Dark Side of The Moon. All pink floyd Albums must be played in its entirety . They're ALL recorded like a jig saw puzzle, each song being a piece. Do not play it any other way or you lose the magnitude and experience. Do side one Monday, side two on Tuesday.
Dark side of the moon album is a must. Best album ever in my opinion.
You're about to go on a huge spiral. Pink Floyd is my favorite band;literally legends ❤
Love listening to you guys listening to my old records, and bringing them to life again.
Fantastic reaction guys, you get PF. Looking forward to seeing more floyd on your show. Recommend pulse live. 👍🏴
In my humble opinion PINK FLOYD are the greatest progressive rock band in the world bar none.
Some artists take you down a rabbit hole. Pink Floyd will take you down a RABBIT HOLE
Saw Roger Waters in concert 2 years ago and he played a lot of PF songs. So glad I got to experience that and would encourage everyone to go
I was a freshman in high-school when this came out. Of course I had the album. ❤❤❤
This will always remind me of my last year in primary school (11yrs) and a boy I know singing this on his way home from scchool
The poem is their song called Money. Great song from dark side of the moon.
You should watch the movie. It’s very long, but it’s a psychedelic art piece in itself. My favorite Floyd song is Comfortably Numb…… a must hear for new fans!
One of the greatest bands to ever exist they are their own genre you have to listen to the album's to fully get the experience
This could perhaps come out 5 yrs from now n still hold the relevance
Pink Floyd - Echoes (Live at Pompeii)
There were/are kids all over the world who can relate to this level of authority in the classroom experience.
You have a great reaction! You will need to do a full album reaction sometime soon as it is a full story. Great stuff guys!!! Also, you guys are helping to erase the divisions being placed upon us all by doing these. Love you gents, cheers from a white guy in frozen Canada lol!
Im loving your discussion on the conformity of education
A very enjoyable and thoughtful reaction by you guys! Pink Floyd is truly in a class by themselves. You really should go through the songs on an album in order before moving onto the next album. Dark Side of the Moon should be your next album after this one. It is an experience.
You can play any Pink Floyd and be blown away❤❤❤❤
Yasss! More Floyd! After THe Wall, yall need to listen to the Dark Side of The Moon album.
It's a rock opera that must be listened to in its entirety.
You guys could talk forever and we would still listen.
Great reaction guys, you obviously get it. Brilliant album from one of the great bands.
This song was most everyone's senior class song when it came out!
If you guys ever do an album reaction, The Wall is such an epic listen. As far as songs go, Comfortably Numb is worth a reaction. Keep up the good work, loving the reactions 👍
You are going to want to continue on this Pink Floyd trip!
Oh please please react to Dark side of the moon all at once .. straight thru (as intended ) What a treat that would be for all of us( especially you) let’s Go!! Every human being should be required to listen to this album .. it’s that good . I’ve been listening my entire 55 yrs. I’m so excited for your PF journey🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠
More Pink Floyd PLEASE!!!! My suggestion: Time
Grew up poor and white in the South. These bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, etc. These things are like some kind of cultural touchstone for those of us that came up in the 80s. It was like some sort of secret knowledge.
Really need to listen start to finish, definitely worth it!
Education comes in different forms that can benefit many
Hey - the poem that the boy is reading - these are lyrics from another of Pink Floyd’s incredible songs; “MONEY”. You have to do a reaction to that one!
What an amazing reaction, this song lit you guys up.
This video is a clip from the movie, highly recommend watching. Pink Floyd....deep lyrics over perfect music! Dive in, Dark Side of the Moon album in it's entirety can change your life😁
You guys really NAILED IT. I think you would enjoy the movie The Wall. Peace.
So the poem is lyrics to "money" by the band .also comfortably numb live is a must to see , David Gilmore plays guitar solos that speak to our souls😊
The album The Wall needs to be listened to as a whole album in order to understand the context of all the individual songs.
There were other stupendous bands (The Beatles, Queen
Led Zeppelin and others) but Pink Floyd will always be utterly unique to themselves.
Pink Floyd is the GOAT!!!!!!!! Great reaction!!!!!
Truly, you need to see the movie 😊
Their tune 'Mother' is a trip.
This was my class song in high school 1980 much to the chagrin of the school administration🙂
I remember standing outside Sam Goody when I was 15 in 1980 waiting for the midnight sale release of The Wall, this album is about as perfect as Dark side of the moon,in my opinion.
