i love you
by far the most emotional and unique live rendition of Kid A
I was absolutely FLOORED when I first heard it. Absolutely gorgeous, and deserving of a widespread release. I hope maybe this show gets published thru official channels so it's up on streaming/home release too!
It is perfect isn't it?!
and after that insane end of talk show
Can you imagine hearing all these kid a/amnesiac songs for the first time LIVE
I've seen so many people comment stuff like this, but all of my favorite radiohead memories are songs I've listened to many times that I get a better understanding of.
@@cade6897 Your comment is 100% right on. At that time they were receiving bad reviews from the press and lukewarm reception to the new material. Alot of critics and fans were waiting a few years since OK wanting a straight full assault rock album so the new material definitely got alot better after many listens. I remember when I first played Kid A it took me a few times to make it through...very underwhelmed and now it's in my top 10 albums of all time maybe. I appreciated this material so much more in 2003.
I also like the In Rainbows prophecy hidden in there. I didn’t realize, but not surprised, that Nude went that way back and it’s a cool version
An incredible idea. It was such a wild left turn.
I saw them in 2001
in my opinion, this is prolly the best live vocals by thom
agreed.
It’s great but he sounded even better in 1997 imho.
This is a great recording, you can hear every single instrument. I guess we should thank the mixing engineer.
It is rumored(according to setlist.fm) that Nigel Godrich himself mixed this and put it out on the internet to promote hype.
@@LK-428 came here to say this
@@MyBeautifulDarkTwistedFantasy6 man, I know I’ve pointed it out before but damn, you’re everywhere, a good amount of your internet footprint must be identical to mine, lol.
my fav era of the band....
Same
Imagine hearing these songs for the first time during this concert... I would have lost my mind
we were getting all these 2000 shows on Napster, within 24 hours of them playing the show. was such an exciting time
nude into nice dream is a surprisingly great transition
This nostalgia is killing me. I wish I could go back, but alas here we are.
awesome performance and setlist. surprisingly missing idioteque
too early, they didn't start playing idioteque till later in the year
Man, Idioteque would have completed this set list and probably would have made it the best Radiohead setlist imo.
Citizen Insane's _Kid A & Amnesiac_ sections paint a good picture of why "Idioteque" is "missing." The song may have been finished, but at that point, they may not have figured out how to play it live, the sample may not have been cleared yet, or it may have been on the cutting room floor (ala Nude, which didn't appear until 7 years on). Additionally, "Kinetic" may have still been in "Idioteque"'s place on _Kid A:_ citizeninsane.eu/music/amnesiac/kinetic.html
Loved Kid A from the day it came out. Blew my tiny 14 year old mind.
The sound quality is frickin' phenomenal.
definitely one of the best ever radiohead performances, up there with glasto 97
Utrecht 97 is even better than glasto, sadly it's not on youtube
Bonnaroo 2006
Astoria ‘94
The Basements are fantastic. Live in person tho, Miami '18 was like being on ecstacy. Rainbows tour, sadly my recollection suffers from inebriation
8/07/2002 - Salamanca
If Idioteque, The Tourist and Let Down were on this set, this would be my dream setlist!
it is very strange that idioteque was not played on this gig
@@attilamurvai3108 probably because that whould shock the viewers haha.
i mean if you think of it, most of the people when first heard kid a tracks probably where disgusted, a lot of the people at first didnt liked the album , but with the time , people started to like it... a lot... this realease ended up confusing people , because it wasnt the radiohead they knew, the style was so different , and this at first didnt please some of the fans, so if that happened with the realease, imagine being there , just like kinda surprised , disgusted and all kind of shit cloud have happened hahaha
@@attilamurvai3108 I don't think they ever played Idioteque until the album was already out
this is no doubt the best live I ever heard in RUclips
holy shit those drum fills on optimistic were like perfect .👌 phil selway fans master race
Can't believe they did Bishops Robes and Nice Dream!!!
love the bass in dollars and cents
Soniclovenoize, a guy known for making "albums that never were" made an album called "Kid Amnesiac" that combines the best of "Kid A" and "Amnesiac" based on mostly the setlist Radiohead had during these and other tours before Kid A's final tracklist had been decided, it goes like this:
Side A:
1- Optimistic
2- Morning Bell
3- How To Disappear Completely
4- The National Anthem
5- In Limbo
Side B:
1- Dollars and Cents
2- Kid A
3- Knives Out
4- You and Whose Army?
5- Everything In It's Right Place
6- Pyramid Song
I honestly think it's so much more better than what we ended up getting in the end, feels more cohesive and has a better pacing overall (besides, Pyramid Song is one hell of a song to close an album with) ^^
This contains my favourite version of Karma Police. I didn't think the song could get any better.
kid a sounds great, better than later renditions
Idk if it's just me, but i prefer the final version of the song
@@martinmaxwell3508 C'mon man, how often do you get to hear Radiohead use a harmonica?!
Jonny’s work on the mod box at the intro to national anthem is even better than Glastonbury 2003. However, it still doesn’t have the “how many how many how many “
phillip goes so hard at the end of optimistic here never noticed that before
Thanks for posting the show!
AWESOMEEEEEE!!! This is marvelous
Shoutouts to this dude for doing god’s work and uploading this. I love the rendition of Everything In It’s Right Place.
I effing love in limbo
Kid a sounds fucking amazing holy shittttt
in love with this
Rare occasion knives out has been played
That version of kid a reminds me of Mario galaxy on the Wii for some reason. I think it must be the piano and what I think is a synth (im not an expert so it might not be a synth).
Can we please get a physical release of this? Best Radiohead show ive heard and my favorite era of the band
I agree, I wish they had a physical copy!
while there isn't a physical copy, you can still download this bootleg from website called essentialradioheadbootlegs. Just google it, youtube doesn't allow linking.
Thanks for letting us know about this - what a fantastic website!
I would *kill* to see this live. Fuck.
This is amazing.
that outro on karma police... colin you fucking genius
amazing...!
KID A live version better then the recording
Absolutely
Interesting that they play both Pyramid Song and Knives Out
They were both already recorded of course.
does he sub in "my luck could chafe" as opposed to "my luck could change" in this "lucky"? more likely it's just thom deciding not to enunciate or even saying "chaaaange" properly. he liked to do that a lot. "could chaaang" with deliberately dropped "e" and sometimes he prefers not to finish the word even closely. i like. but i almost wonder if this was intentional. could alse be heard as "could chave", though
I’ve been looking on Setlist FM, apparently there’s performances of Bones on this tour? I haven’t heard a single one anywhere and I’m just wondering if anyone has a link a show they played it at during this tour

This has one
This was on July 4th 2000, not April 7th
good point, i think I must have put this down as 4/7/2000 when someone was using day / month/year , which is common i think in UK?
@@ledraps22 Ohhh, true, fair
Wow
Who mixed this, God?
Nigel supposedly

1 dislike. only one lost emo on youtube.
Wait, where's creep?
That fucking bass groove at the end of Karma Police omg
ikr it was so catchy
IKRR
what does the audience member at 39:22 say ?
it sound like he says, "Lurgee" but i might be wrong XD
I might be wrong, I might be wrong...
is this a cd?
Mark Albers no idea, few years ago i just got the download for it and thought it was worth sharing.
@@ledraps22 god bless you
They really lost the plot at about this time.... Never recovered it... just rambling waffle...
No man… if you embrace it you’ll realize this is their most incredible era…
Amazing Airbag performance
Jonny was going exceptionally crazy on the guitar effects
I effing love in limbo
