Can we all agree we had absolute chills the second fight right? From her expression of rage, the lightning immediately showing up. Even the speed/lightning attack moment was so smooth when they were most likely using a “speed/electrical” based power. Even though it’s an impactful fight, this just proves that Eda is stronger than Lilith and could whup her in any circumstance. This scene gave lots of chills, even the confession of the curse. That last segment was terrifying and I cried when she said those words. Thank you Disney for a night of crying

Rewatching the 1st fight completely changes Lilith's reaction to Eda's curse getting worse, when I watched it the first time I always thought she just was upset but when rewatching I could see that she was regretful. It just proves how good this show is that when rewatching you can see a change in the way they reacted and why a character acts how they did, I still hate Lilith though, a well written and interesting character, but a bad person.
@Books and Tv Geek I completely agree, I no longer agree with what I said before, since then I have rewatched S1 multiple times and I am up to date on S2, and this has given me a brand new perspective of Lilith, she didn't mean to do anything bad, she just wanted the attention that she was never given, and went looking in the wrong places. Since the emperor was the only one that have her attention of course she would be loyal to him but when he revealed his true intentions she realised her mistake, and honestly I think she has completely redeemed herself, of course she could never make up for the curse but she is trying and that is what counts. @@fruitysnacks7157 I think it was more to get her attention, becoming part of the Emperor's Coven would have meant that their mother would have to pay attention to her but it backfired, driving Lilith even more into Eda's shadow as all attention was given to her. Which of course led her down the path of becoming what we see in S1. I don't think it was to get their mother's attention as Lilith never told her she did it, as her mother only found out in S2. But that was a good theory, and in some ways it is true

I remember at the beginning of the series how I loved Eda’s and Lilith’s relationship dynamic in how L clearly still cared for E and wanted the best for her despite E being a wanted criminal. I found it really heartwarming. But then, they slowly hinted at L being the one who cursed E and boy was I thrown for a 180! What if L doesn’t actually care as much and was just feeling guilty this whole time? She didn’t really start to help Luz and company until realizing that E was right and that the emperor wasn’t going to cure E.
I'd say the fact she thought it would only be for one day; and her chasing her sister all the time because the Emperor lied to her about being able to heal her, convinced me that she DOES care about Eda. But the harm was done, a long time ago.
While this isn’t D&D, Eda and Lilith are very comparable to two types of spellcasters. Eda would be a Sorcerer due to her wild and innovative nature with magic while Lilith would be a Wizard due to her careful study and refinement in her spell casting. To add to their similarities, Wizards and Sorcerers have serious beef with each other on magic, and Eda’s comment at 2:20 and Lilith’s comment at 3:34 are good examples of that rivalry. Wizards can learn many more spells compared to Sorcerers, but the fewer spells that Sorcerers learn, they are capable of manipulating in unique ways that other spellcasters just aren’t capable of doing, specializing and mastering into a few specific spells to make things count.
This also explains why Lilith is better than Eda in glyph magic, because it is like a language, with pre-determined grammatical rules. While Eda is better with wild magic because she is wild and understands the nature of wild magic.
The last part before Eda turns just makes me sob, honestly the best fight I've ever watched, with the animation, the dialogue, how well this show is constructed, I love it, I can't wait for the next season.

I love how she imideatly attacks in the second Fight. Theres no Hesitation, no playing around, its the ultimate prove of Love towards Luz. And the Animation in both Fights is so smooth and liquid. To expect a sadisfying Fightszene from an Artstyle like this is a lot. But they manage to pull it of.
This scene made Owl House for me. I'm over the whole 'Manic Pixie Girl' changing the world's status Quo. But Lilith is a great antagonist- trying to catch up to her sister, feeling both frustration and guilt over their whole dynamic. Fantastic.
Castlevania has the best fights and animation. Haven't seen RWBY though. As shows, I prefer ATLA and owl house, but in terms of animation and action, castlevania wins

I'm a sucker for a good magic fight in any medium. Owl House had some of the best animated magical combat ever. It's a joy too watch masters of the craft use their power in creative ways
God...the animation in this is just I think this is the company way of flexing on what they can do during both fights; smooth, in control, and looks like straight out of an anime. [Okay yes technically this is an anime, but still] The way she spins her staff, the way their hair moves, oh god it 's like so perfect. I wonder how long it took them to animate this?
I like the fights in TOH because they aren't as basic as we're used to in American animations, but they're not as overly confusing as most anime, it's really The best of both worlds.
They were both so powerful with their magic. (Besting any coven head, because of their access to all types of magic) Together they could have likely taken out belos in a 2v1. Which is why he had to depower them.
I personally think that Lilith, being far more diligent, is just as strong, if not stronger, than Eda. But remember - she's in Emperor's coven, and the coven sigil restrains her magic.
