her magic feels more technical and straight to the point (force fields, blasts, and telekinetic) while star more creative, fun, and sometimes impractical,,, while eclipsa's magic style is about huge waves of power
eclipsa's magic was more academic in a way, she said "all knowledge is good knowledge", so her spells were more experimental, unknown but also very strong
her magic breaks rules, and it makes her on par with star as a result, even though she never learned wandless magic
@@ryansnightmare8417 I feel like Eclipsa’s spells are more used as one shots or finishers. Like Black Velvet Inferno, The Darkest Spell, and The Spell That Has No Name, which Eclipsa finishes. They can insta kill Meteora and Harm Toffee, which Meteora was undefeated and Toffee was indestructible. Some of her spell are kinda goofy; like when she fought Rhombulus and was using werid childish mind spells. Also, notice her fighting style is basically- push them back with waves of damage, use Midnight Shriek to slow them down, then finish them with a one shot spell 😂😂. Love her. ❤

Moon organizing a coup against Eclipsa was so heartbreaking, her character development just... Disappeared out of nowhere

No.. what it means that.. moon somehow.. aren't "balloonivied" after meteora attacked her... maybe due to she was hit while in dip down mode..
@@huseinrahmanf7265 That is what I believe to be most likely. That and Eclipsa too dipped down for the first time. She may have given Moon some of her power. And moon was getting entirely covered in those dark magic lines, but after the blast was rid of them. Maybe the attack took some of the dark magic and therefore didn't take all the light magic? Also maybe meteora was being careful not to hit her mother. There are many reasons
That probably happened because she was in her Butterfly form, Making her somewhat resistent against direct magic attacks
I consider this as magic helping to survive. She had white eyes when she went to give Mina the last blow, and afterwards she was left with just one eye white and the other with a star. I think she ran away because it was an automatic defense tactic or something, or she was scared of something too
I love how moon and stars look like butterflies whereas eclipsa and meteroa look like moths as it's a reference to their heritage. I love how that shows that festivias era/family of butterflies were the ones meant for the future as moon and star were the ones who made an actual turning point within mewni. It shows that despite all of stars concerns of not being a real butterfly, she is an actual butterfly
I think if moon & star be a moths, and eclipsa & meteora look like butterflies, it could be symbolic like Moon & star is fake queens
Yeah... not really, they´re still illegitimate. Also I think Eclipsa and Meteora’s association with moths have to do with their connection with the monster race and because they are more witchy than others, moths are associated with the night, the Moon and mysticism
But Eclipsa‘s wings look exactly like Star‘s except for the color and the only thing making Eclipsa look moth-like are her antennas.
@@ellaadair yeah exactly! Since the main thing abt them is the antenna plus they're still butterflies but they're half butterfly, representing their heritage with the butterfly aspects but the moth aspects represent that they're not the destined ones to continue the butterfly rule!

Characteristics of the spells and magical abilities of the most notable butterflies in the series:
Star: Fun, creativity, childishness (admit it), various uses, supplementary features.
Moon: Firm seriousness, direct fighting style, supplementary traits.
Eclipsa: dark forces, seriousness (both for their qualities and for the personality they showed in their physical form within the wand) various uses, supplementary traits, influence on the mental field, destructive force.
Meteora: vitality extraction.
I haven't really watch much of this show beyond the first season. Glad to see her character so heavily expanded upon.
It got really good. It peaked in Season 3, but they kinda fumbled the ending.
Her character was great until they decided to ruin it just to add some drama to the show, even if the cause of that drama didn't make sense at all

I hated how magic was destroyed and the multiverse merged together. Stupid ending.
I wouldn't have mind that if it was properly introduced and was explored.
But another thing that bothered me was the fact that the whole idea of getting rid of the magic was introduced out of nowhere and that Star really wasn't fazed with the life altering plan.

@@sambullock4280She literally didn’t care that countless people would possibly die if she enacted her plan, and it was basically confirmed that any magical beings were dead afterwards. And she was so happy with getting rid of magic when she’s always loved using it, and its a significant part of her life. Its like if we got rid of electricity because people can use it for evil. Magic did way more good than bad, and the show basically goes against EVERYTHING it has set up just for this stupid ending.
We could’ve gotten a final battle where Star, Moon, and Eclipsa fight the Solarian Army and maybe even create a counter-spell that removes the affect of Solaria’s magic from them, the MHC could’ve even helped them in an attempt to redeem themselves because they saw helping Mina was a horrendous idea. It wouldn’t be enough to let them go unpunished, but it would at least make them look like decent people for realizing their wrongs. LITERALLY ANYTHING BUT THIS ENDING. If they wanted a ‘open’ ending for more adventures they should’ve kept magic, the best element of the show, it makes me want to facepalm so bad.

I think honestly the moment that moon did not even let meteora talk again to her mother. Was the moment that started her downfall from being a cool warrior queen mom. To some stupid tragic oh I need the power back because I have to believe in the old ways that were taught to me.
Think about it if Moon never reconstituted the solarian warriors. Star wouldn't have been set on the path to destroy the magic have the most dumbest ending to what could have been a pretty great show.
I know some shows have a hard time wrapping up their finale but it was like a garbage shot. Plus everyone knows it did not pay off. I don't know why shows do this to be honest with you they think going to a normal life where there's no magic where there's nothing fantasy is going to make us relate to it the most. That's not why we like it and we all know it.
Honestly if I'd imagine a good SVTFOE finale right off of the bat with no extra knowledge and my stupid brain, I'd imagine a society where firstly Eclipsa stays queen and raises her daughter. The people of Mewni are all taught magic, monsters are treated as equals, possibly even given another name than "monsters". I'm not sure what more
It could have been better if they focus more on lore and the other 27 unknown queens instead of stupid teenage love

Well it a Disney cartoon so of course their going to to focus on humor and teenage love. On tops of having deep storylines just like Gravity Falls. They were goofy with a storyline

Eclipsa is easily my fav but I don't care too much for how goofy she became later.
I liked when she was still shrouded in mystery and always had that air of mischief in the beginning of being first introduced to her

Star moon and eclipsa could've destroyed the solarian army STAR AND MOON COULD'VE USED THE SPELL WITH NO NAME AGAINST THEM BUT THEY DIDN'T
The Solarians could be killed, since Mina was the last one until season 4, but Toffee was on another level that recquired a specific spell tailored to destroy his kind's very essence. Toffee's species were immortal with huge regeneration abilities that even Globgor, Eclipsa's husband, asked her to complete just in case against him and his kind, as before Eclipsa didn't want to finish her mother Solaria' spell, if I recall correctly.
Eclipsa: Theory of magic and great knowledge of dark arts.
Moon:Great skill in more direct and strong and centered magic formation.
Star: Mary Sue
star did have flaws til ssn 2, after that instead of giving her character development they ruined her

Literally. Why didn’t they just create a new spell that overrides the Solarian one giving them power? Or better yet, instead of permanently destroying magic a spell that works as a EMP temporarily removing magic use from a large zone so that the solarian warriors lose their strength and the armor all falls apart. Stars so creative yet she couldn’t think of something like that????
They just dumb down the charaters really. Eclipsa used her spell with no name and literary obliterated a Solarian Warrior they thought was Mina just to protect Star, and Star says that she can't use that spell again ( Even though Eclipsa said she didn't have enough energy to use that spell again but she could have had Star or Moon use it on Mina ) Destroying the magic wasn't gonna fix anything and I hate the fact that the show thinks that'll resolve the prejudice against humans and monsters

I think Toffee was mad about losing his finger cause it meant he couldn't flip off anybody.
The last season was rushed and total trash, two seasons jammed into one, the reversal spell should have worked, its total bs that it didnt, and even so maybe all four of them should have done it instead of the bs "kill the magic" plan. Id like to throttle the writers for that last plot development.

Can I just say, tofu should have been absolutely no match for moon, she has lifelong training in magic, and tofu just exploded with magic became part of the wand and was suddenly better at it

The finale seemed to be so the show could never we rebooted or continued by other writers cuz it made no sense whatsoever and was the most random solution

In the book she explains that she has set her butterfly form to make her wear the armour, so that she can fight at her best given she uses her butterfly form only when necessary
Moon had a more traditional and warrior mindset compared to eclipsa and star so maybe that’s why
