ANC has always been factional. MK is really just the Zulu faction. Together ANC and MK get 55%, not much different from the 57% in the last election.

@H You don't have to but it is a DEMOCRATIC RIGHT to boycott your vote. It's a form of protest. I'm sick of people attacking people who have a legitimate reason for boycotting the polls. I agree if someone is too lazy or babelaas by using it as a public holiday but if its your mission to purposely not vote - it's a form of protest - some to the actual system. I did vote but I only JUST pushed myself - why? Because I don't like any of these politicians and to me - the biggest four parties from this election are the worst.
I voted for the Cape Coloured Congress. Why? Because they only spent ~ R15000. And I love it how RiseMzanzi spent MILLIONS and got the same number of seats lol.
Social media and the real world is clearly the same thing for Daily Maverick.

I too once saw far more objective reporting from that outlet. But it shifted to the left, initially with 1/3 o its articles clearly biased to the left.

Eff accepted the outcome, probably on orders. The law of unintended consequrnces intervened + the guptas smiling from behind bars in India, says the future for Mk does not look good.
But the fight for supremacy within the anc is still on - says numerous threats abt chaos to ensue if zooma dont get his way on re-election, staying out of courts or whatever. Its a fight he cannot win even if the country completely falls to pieces.
Mk served its purpose, just like the eff did - the latter will have to go back to the drawing board if they want to stay in politics.

Daily Maverick has always sensationalized and skewed news leftwards - funny sometimes, but should not be taken seriously.
Media bias has been a problem since O'Reilly acquired the Argus group - and promptly hired mostly reporters sympathetic to the ANC and not to conservatives - and this lingers to this day. I feel that we only have Afriforum and Solidarity providing any conservative political protections. Chris has a deeper understanding of African politics than most commentators.

Most South Africans, black or white, who did not grow up amongst Zulus will fail to understand the MK party and why it did well.
Zulus dislike the Ramaphosa faction of the ANC. They do not like having Ramaphosa, a lowly Venda, ruling them.
I have heard some Zulus referring to Ramaphosa as a foreigner.
Zulu does not have the R sound., so every time they hear CyRRil RRRamaphosa this is driven home.
Zulus just want to get rid of Ramaphosa., not the whole of ANC.
Agreed, Cyril and his globalist masters hate tribalism/nationalism and Cyrils meddling in the Zulu royal family hierarchy affairs and attempts in destroying their ancestral boundaries is a declaration of war they will win at any cost. Thank you for yet another insightful presentation. I agree but believe the "complaint" is nuanced, a relatable "issue" that the masses will understand and motivate their availability "to action". A video is doing the rounds as to party financing with ANC, EFF and DA all sharing (the same conduit) Rainbow Minerals. I believe this complaint is more a tacit "shot across the bow" from Zuma than a real expectation. Ramaphosa can't be trusted by his handlers, the DA doesn't present the right demographics and with the two combined, in a G of NU, the EFF as "impact player" is superfluous. Combine it in the GNU or use it as a mole within MK, if MK will fall for it and accept them. Thus I believe the whole issue is actually more the drawing of battle lines than any serious challenge to the IEC and results. It already draws 19 to 24 small parties into MK's court - unsatisfied and looking for bigger, more potent ally in the same boat. Quite clever actually.
I think JZ is laying the ground work, telling the ANC/DA "I know who you are and what you're up to and I'm ready for you if you want and look for me!" Barring him from entrance to the hall at Gallagher Estate Sunday evening was either plain stupid or a formal acceptance of JZ's challenge, a national divide - West controlled GNU with powerhouse in the Cape and Global South with interim base in KZN. Basic "battle lines" set down, now for the play?
I have not seen that sharing the funds video. It would be interesting. I produced a video asking the question the media have not been asking: how is a nearly bankrupt ANC paying for everything? That was prior to the election.
