Using machine learning to condense machine learning models to fit on your phone is the 2020s equivalent of using Limewire to download Limewire Pro from the 2000s
You guys forgot to mention that Apple kept referring to the U2 chip as the U (2nd generation). Apple always finds a way to give us U2 when we don't ask for it.
You guys were having way too much fun on this cast 😂 You can feel the post-event high. Looked like Marques was trying to wrangle his children, but he’s just a chill dude. Perfect start to the weekend!
Tertraprism (tetra = 4-sided prism) is a correct term for this optical element and not just fancy marketing. I am not an optics specialist, but pro-camera enthusiast. So SLR camera have a mirror inside which reflects (and flips) light to the top direction where matte glass (microprism glass later yers) is localed. Then petaprism (penta = 5-sided prism) on top of this focus-screen is used as an optical element, to flip the image in 2 dimensions back to the viewfinder. Since in new iPhone camera light is going straight to the digital sensor, you can use simple computations to flip it as you need. So tetraprism is a correct term, and I love Apple using this terms and not calling it Nano-Pulsar-Neo-5000EFM-G2 or other stupid marketing names. As for the metal-ion infused glass. It is still absolutely correct, but a bit fancy way of saying it. Many of the colorants used in glassmaking are metal oxides. When these oxides are introduced to the molten glass, they can dissociate into metal ions and oxide ions. So when it is still correct, your green glass bottle of beer in the fridge is also metal ions infused. But I like this kind of marketing, it is techincally correct, increases education (at least some people will google-it) and sounds cool and elevates the whole personal experience of the product.
Just because I know David likes to have his facts straight, I want to point out that Nvidia did not create ray tracing. Pixar was using it for years before Nvidia released their RTX cards. What Nvidia did though, was to bring real-time ray tracing to the fore with their specialized hardware accelerators. From Wikipedia: "Using a computer for ray tracing to generate shaded pictures was first accomplished by Arthur Appel in 1968."
I love how all Anker and Belkin USB-C to USB-C cables on Amazon now properly advertise they have only been supporting USB 2.0 speeds this whole time. Well, Belkin cleverly hides behind "Certified Hi-Speed USB" which is the label for USB 2.0. USB 3.0 certified is called "SuperSpeed". So, all existing USB-C phone cables will need to be replaced anyhow if people actually want USB 3.0 speeds. Now instead of a lightning cable and USB-C cable in your bag you'll be carrying a USB-C PD USB 2.0 for your laptop and USB-C USB 3.0 cable for your phone.
I wanted to use it because of the stupid hand strap I had on the back, but the way the lounge chairs sat + the mic stand it was just kind of in the way and didn't work as well as I'd hoped.
Titanium is not stronger than stainless steel. It has a better strength-to-weight ratio, so you can make a part that has similar strength as stainless steel but weighs less. Titanium is less dense compared to stainless steel. If you have two identical parts, one made from titanium and one made from stainless steel, they will have similar strength (not exact), but the titanium part will weigh significantly less. This is why titanium is so good for aerospace where weight is incredibly important. The titanium iPhone will not really be stronger, they are using it for weight savings and sexy marketing. It's been driving me crazy that everyone is saying it's going to be stronger.
Feels like the iphone pro line is based on allowing customisation to users and then seeing what the majority like and putting those features in the regular iphones because they figure that most users would use it as well.
It would be interesting if you could find an expert to talk to about the carbon impact from different phones and companies. Considering there are so many parts to the process, it would be nice to know what to look out for when trying to be a conscious consumer
37:00 the percentage shouldn’t be the single metric to transfer charge from one phone battery to other. An algorithm should consider battery capacity as well. 50% charge on a battery with 60% capacity and 50% charge on battery with 80% capacity has entirely different impact IRL
The problem with titanium is that it is more fragile to breaking (not scratching) than steel. Some of you are into watches - see the videos on broken titanium watch cases... When destroyed - almost no chances to repair it...
56:26 - yes its a digital crop regardless of how you spin, and does the same thing in the end. if i shoot a 48 mega pickle photo at 1x and crop after would achieve the same dang result maybe even better due to no pickle binning happening.
I hooked my AirPods up to my other phone and it said they were stolen. My homie hit me up and said it was tracking my every location and I wasn’t even aware it sent out an alert lol. Thank God this was straight to the point 💯
Am I the only person that thinks the Apple Watch Ultra should get a refresh every two years? Truthfully the entire Apple Watch line should only get an upgrade once every two years there’s just not enough improvement from here to year at this point.
if the 15 has the same chip and same camera as the 14 pro, are we getting the 24mp default and portrait mode features on the 14 pro if its all software?
Hey Marcus, I had a thought I’m too old and don’t know enough to do a RUclips channel but man I tell you a good segment or a good video to make. Let’s see who is closest on the renders of the iPhone leaks and give them a trophy. I will support it if you advertise it and send him money for a trophy
The skit was Apple's official entry into the Insanity Olympics. Seeing Tim Cook just sitting there awkwardly, and then proceeding to have a stare-off was amusing, though.
To be fair, 20 years ago, olders used to make fun of the idea for using your phone to record special moments. The next gen will think ahing a vision pro. On, is super normal
to anyone who is interested, all prices of Apple Watches and new iPhones got about 50-100€ cheaper in Germany which is crazy considering the rumors of Apple making them more expensive this year
My nokia 1520 had this change bokeh on the picture after you taken it, nearly 10 years ago 😅 Reverse USB-C charging only works with MFI or official Apple cable between Apple and non-apple smartphone/watch
Now I'm never owned an apple watch but the thing I think would be cool with the pinch to tap gesture is for navigating the apple tv. Kind of like we've seen of Vision Pro.
I’d love to see an in depth video where you talk to environmental experts to discuss what all Apple’s sustainability announcements mean and if they actually matter.
GO TO THE ZOO!!!! Studio field trip.
And USB-‘see’ all the animals
to do what? watch imprisoned animals suffer?
PLEAAAASE and choose a spirit animal for all of the Studio crew

You know it's a special episode when Adam and Ellis get their own mics
I literally went to the comments to see this exact comment
i thought they were a couple.
It’s nice to see that they have their own mics
Twice the mics.. 😅
How hard is it to get this kid a microphone???
Using machine learning to condense machine learning models to fit on your phone is the 2020s equivalent of using Limewire to download Limewire Pro from the 2000s
What about using a combination of machine learning and AI to reintegrate the quantum modelling for the augmented reality components of the neural net?
That small moment where Marques and his team realized they made it was wholesome
I love how happy MK sounds, just so exciting, tech season is upon us!
please talk one person at one time
I would be excited too if I'm getting paid by Apple
You guys forgot to mention that Apple kept referring to the U2 chip as the U (2nd generation). Apple always finds a way to give us U2 when we don't ask for it.

Have you guys ever discussed phone networks and plans? Cost, reliability, etc. If not I’d be curious to hear that conversation
The length conversation out of context 21:49 😂

This is the real apple event I was waiting for

Marques always asking the tough questions, "Does Apple consider a racoon to be a cat?"
Did any1 notice the increase in brightness when MKBHD talks about brightness in Apple Watch series 9? That was clever editing !! Kudos !!
37:18 Why am I reminded of Seinfelds “Square to spare” lol
How are the headphones setup? The normal kabels should be too short to make it to the mixer right?
i like to think it looked like the crowd scene from Oceans 11. Marques is staring at the big screen but everyone else is looking at him.
"The dinosaur bone juice" was good one.
😂
Can't wait to watch MKBHD's iPhone 15 review. Waiting for that before I order mine online.
Andrew saying I found the notes app at 1:19:20 made me laugh soooooo hard.

awesome cast
Nvidia doesnot 'create' raytracing, it is a technique. They created first consumer GPU with support for Ray-tracing
It would be interesting if you could find an expert to talk to about the carbon impact from different phones and companies. Considering there are so many parts to the process, it would be nice to know what to look out for when trying to be a conscious consumer
It's the glass that breaks, but the titanium could absorb the impact more, making the probability of the glass breaking smaller.
