    Note to seabees: don't buy brown boots in A school or ECS, just wear out the stupid black boots. They look silly, but you get issued brown boots in battalion so just wait it out and save the money. Also nobody cares which pt uniform you wear, no need to buy new ones.

    Sadly they didn’t start giving out the yellow printed PTU’s yet you gotta buy them after boot they still are using the yellow shirt and silver printed shorts

    My son is wearing green NWU's, but I had the CLASSIC dungarees & 3-eyelet boonies
    Our whites had no pipings & our blues had the 13 buttons
    Engineering always wore fire proof coveralls everyday except to quarters in the moring

      Yeah, that was around the same time I went through. Not as much has changed for the dudes but no more having 2 working uniforms depending on season. Kind of a shame, really, because the CNT working whites were some of the best looking uniforms of any branch, even if they were almost impossible to keep clean.

    Great vid shipmate. I never wore the same pair of dress whites twice. They were the ones with no piping. One of the females got makeup on my collar. I Got heavily roasted. But yeah, NSU's and blueberries were pretty much brand new when I was in. I never wore Type 3's. The Navy has a way to keep inventing some new uniforms. Bring back utilities

    When I was in we had PT uniforms in Boot but literally no one ever wore them ever again after that. Whenever we did our PT test it was generally a wear whatever you want within reason kind of thing. Maybe that was just a sub force thing, though.
    Edit: Also, the 2 part BDU style coveralls is what I've been screaming the Navy should use since I was in and we were still wearing utilities. Only thing I would say is some kind of reflective material on them in case of a man overboard situation.

    Great video, but can you give more information on the boots. Exactly which ones are issued (make / model#). My son was in 2 years ago and ended up with horrible blisters due to the boot being too big. He had to be held back to another class because his run time was short by 20 seconds. My 2nd son is going in this summer. I want him to get used to the boots now, so I want to order him a pair, I need to know the exact one, because from what I understand the Navy switched their boots in Q4 of 2022

    Are they wearing the exact same go fasters here in the 0.25 portion of the video during PT? Do they allow recruits to wear the go fasters that they have on when they arrive in BC? I heard your shie must be American running shoe and has to be pure black or white. Or a mishmash of black and white. I don’t want to squander my money on a shoe that will end up not being utilized in Bootcamp and get send back to my house.

    • @askardc
      @askardc  Год назад

      Couldn't give you a sited answer, although would match other branches. Best I could say is that current uniform regulations do not support it. NSU wear means Garrison cap for E6 and junior. Chief's wear combo cap most the time. it is mostly up to the command.

    • @1999colebug
      @1999colebug Год назад +1

      To fly you'd have to go officer. Only OCS will give you a guarantee to designate as a pilot (SNA). The naval academy and ROTC will let you fill out a dream sheet of what designator you want, but in the end they'll put you where they need you. It may not be pilot.
      BTW designator just means job / career path.

      Let me be clear, you CAN NOT be a pilot as enlisted. You must commission. Don't trust your recruiter.
