I have the same sticks and they worked great on my last African hunt. I hunt with a Ruger Hawkeye in 375 Ruger and although I did all right before, your tip about squaring the shoulders improved my steadiness and it was something I had not seen before in other books and videos. Thanks so much! I’ll put it to use on my hunt in Namibia this May.

Very neat. Those sticks would certainly be handy for pronghorn.

I recently moved to Utah and looking at hunting options where real long shots can come into play. Why didnt this ever catch on in the mountain west? Is there a good entry level set of these to get in the US? What you said about practicing target shooting on sticks (in my mind I got as 'instead of the bench') makes alot of sense!

They are great to use if you are hunting in tall brush within 300 yards. However, much farther than that they become too unstable to make an ethical shot every time, and a good bipod or tripod is a much better rest for those farther shots.

@@BackcountryHuntingPodcast I've never even had an opportunity with hunting antelope, but now living in Utah its a reality. Big change from blacktail hunting in the West Cascade jungles with a 35 Remington. I have a monopod that someone gave me but its not a very stable option imo. Can you recommend a budget option ($150-200) set of shooting sticks without getting useless junk or is that not a possibility? Would you recommend shooting sticks over a lightweight tripod? Pros and cons? Maybe it could make a good video I have no experience with shooting sticks or using a tripod.

Love your channel. Volume seams to be,a bit low, but other than that its great. I would love a nice rifle in 6.5x55 Swede. Not enough choices out there. Too much Creedmore, need more Swede!!

Thank you! This is an older video that I just got around to uploading so I didn’t have my new microphones yet… But a Swede is definitely hard to beat!
