This is an EXCELLENT DETAILED video that tells you everything! I called 3 times and the people at Keurig were very nice but knew absolutely nothing, actually did not even give me all accurate information. Thank you for doing this video!
I can explain the weak coffee you got on the K-Cup side. Most K-Cup pods have 11 g of coffee grounds (even the premium brands). These machines produce their best coffee when you use 1.75 g of grounds for every ounce of water. So, a standard K-Cup pod is best when you use the 6 oz brew option. Beyond that, the coffee will be weaker. So, the 10 oz cup you brewed was definitely weaker and more watery than what is ideal. I just bought a kitchen scale from Amazon for about $14 so I can accurately measure the weight of the grounds I use so I can make the best possible coffee.
Thats probably the best way to do it. Sometimes the grounds get more compacted in the scooper, other times the grounds aren't as packed in. Weighing the grounds definitely is the more accurate way to go about it
I have no idea who you are but you given by far the best thorough and detailed description. because of you I just purchased this item. And now you have one yourself a new subscriber. Keep up the good work. Typing this as I sip on my hot cup of coffee
SET AUTO BREW: Turn on power button (obviously). > Press the Carafe Icon. > Set the brew time with the H/M buttons. > Push silver BREW button to confirm time. > Press pot size (usually 12 cups). > Hit Silver Brew button again and make sure there is a clock icon displaying above the time and the AUTO button is lit. You should be good to go. Push buttons slowly and firmly to make sure everything registers. That was my problem the first time. After that it's been easy.
Once I get the carafe selected and the time entered and the number of cups selected and hit the k button the auto button comes to light and the single cup light starts flashing that doesn't sound right.
Wow!! That was an awesome review! I had many questions and expected to watch and read many reviews to have all my questions answered, but you answered them all and then some. Thank you!!
Nice review. Like the fact that you aren't over dramatic like many other reviewers. Just giving the facts. Love it. And I just scored this coffeemaker at Target on sale for $129. So far so good!
Great review, fun and informative, love the temperature checks, and brewing times, other great specs, actual taste comments on the brewed coffee, as always superbly done, thank you for the review on the Keurig Duo, plus information on the other models and accessories available ☕️😊
Very good. We could not get the carafe to make a pot. Checked out your video and realized we had not run a pit of water through. And we saw no red light. Did the pot of just water then made 6 cups. Worked well and the light came on. Thanks.
🌟Excellent! You answered *every* question I had, plus quite a few that I didn’t know I had - all with such clarity. You’ve probably just sold me on a Keurig. Thank you!
Had to have mine replaced today. It was 7 months old. Set on 12 cups it made 10 and set on 10 it made 8. They do have great customer service though. They're sending me the K Duo Plus as a replacement since they're out of these. Hope to have better luck with it.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Just purchased and could not for the life of me figure out how to brew a cup of coffee with the pods. Who would have thought you need to hit the power button even though the power was on.
Kudos on your great demonstration of this coffee pot and the instructions that you gave. You were to the point and precise. Many times I see people just blabbing on and by the time they get to the demonstration you don't want to listen anymore. I'm still thinking about whether to get this dual Keurig coffee pot or just the single use style Keurig coffee maker.
FYI, I just bought the kduo for my wife's b-day about a month ago. The only drawback is when you go to pour a cup, the carafe drips all over the place. Hope you have better luck. 👍
@A B FYI, this is dec.5 2022, I bought it Nov. 2021. Right away I noticed that the coffee pot that came with the unit the spout is squared off so that when I would pour, it would dribble down the side of the pot and it would make a mess on the counter. I tried pouring slowly, pouring a little faster, but I still ended up with a mess. I finally threw out the pot that came with the unit and bought a ' universal ' pot with a pointy spout that works a lot better. But then the k-cup part of the unit would not brew at all!! So we bought just another k-cup brewer. Sorry for the long answer just trying to give you as much info as possible. When I bought it at kohl's I paid 100.00 ( down from 149.00) good luck 👍
Auto brew: press the auto button. Use the H/M buttons to set the time for the auto brew to begin, press the blinking brew button to confirm time. Choose your brew size, then press the blinking brew button to confirm the size. The auto brew setup is now complete. A clock icon will appear on the screen and the auto button will be lit up to indicate auto is on.
I got the Keurig Duo for Christmas last year and of course we immediately started using individual cups. I did I did not attempt to make an actual pot of coffee for about 2 months. I don't know if anyone else has this problem or if I just got a lemon but my pot never makes 12 cups not ever! I will not reinvest money in another Duo but we'll buy one of the courage that makes individual cups and then have a separate coffee maker for making pots of coffee on the weekends.
Excellent review. You basically covered everything eloquently. I just purchased this unit yesterday and am pretty happy with it. I need to buy a water filter. In the meantime I'll buy filtered water. Thank you for your review. now to find a good coffee to brew...lol
I bought this Christmas 2019. Just yesterday, Mar 25, 2021, it gave me a "1r" error message. My problems started when a couple weeks ago it stopped brewing full pots and single serves k-cups as well. I tried cleaning it with white vinegar, even coffee maker cleaning solution, used the paperclip method to clear the needle for K-cups, used a baster to force water inside the water reservoir valve as it was also a suggested method. Nothing worked... It just kept brewing incomplete pots as I cleaned it. And then yesterday, I got the dreaded "1r". I even tried resetting it as Instructed on a troubleshooting article I found online. I guess that my city produces hard water, so if that's the case with you, I'd recommend using white vinegar at least once EVERY single week, otherwise it WILL clog with mineral deposits! I hope you have better luck with the K-Duo...I ended up throwing the Keurig out and buying the Hamilton Beach FlexBrew. It's a similar alternative and see many positive reviews on it.
Just a couple of observations. After many many years of drinking coffee I’ve learned to put my creamer and sweetener in the cup before adding the coffee. Save a spoon, pouring in the coffee mixes the creamer and sweetener. Second, I’m holding off on buying the Keurig Duo’s for several reasons. 1. Only 60 oz. for the water reservoir and 2. Doesn’t have a 4 oz. measure for hot water to make hot oatmeal or rinse after a k-cup has been used so the next person doesn’t get a coffee taste for their tea, etc. My Keurig K-500 is a couple of models old from the Duo’s, but I’ll wait and maybe Keurig will fix their Duo’s to be better and people can easily program their machines.
I had two keurigs on one of them the milk frother didnt work and both of them made the coffee not as hot and coffee tasted alittle weak I bought the farberware coffee maker and it has up to 14 oz cup size coffee is hot and even at 14 oz it feels full and doesnt taste weak it takes less than a minute to brew the coffee you can use k cups or ground coffee and the coffee maker is only $30 at walmart and it heats up and ready to brew in about 10 seconds after plugging it in
I just bought that same model, I saw that when you poured a cup, it DIDN'T drip from the spout. My carafe drips all over the place! It drips from the tip and down the side. I end up with a mess on my counter, glad you had better luck.
So guys for this, you have to click Auto and then set a time of course but then when you’re done click the method (pot or single) and then you have to click the big brew button then you’ll notice a little clock appear on the display. You might get a flashing light on the single serve or the pot but just ignore it, not sure why it does that. But as long as you see the little clock you’ve locked in the auto setting and time
Hello Bestkitchenreviews. I recently bought the Keurig K-Duo. In your video where you described the brew options for both the carafe and the K-Cups, you indicated that the brewer can use the "Strong" brewing option for both the carafe and the K-Cup. On my Keurig K-Duo, the option is only available on the K-Cup. Could you please confirm this? Otherwise I'm assuming I may have a defective Keurig K-Duo.
This is probably a stupid question, but . . . My Duo came with a coffee scoop that is incomprehensible to me. It has two ends, one larger than the other, and information printed on the handle that says Reg Max: 15 and the other says Decaf Max: 12. The 15 and the 12 are written inside a picture of the scoop, but the pictures are the same size. It also depicts that one scoop makes one cup. So what does that all mean? By the way, neither end of the scoop measures a tablespoon-- one is a bit more, the other a bit less.
I actually have a question: Let’s say I make a pot of coffee and only drink half of it. 6 hours later I want to turn on the hot plate only to re-warm the coffee in the pot. How do you turn on the burner only?
well, if as presenter stated, each cup brewed is only 5 oz then a 6 cups is 30 oz, right?..So at a normal 8 oz or 10 oz,at four cups is either 32oz or 40oz. so I am going to try adding just a bit more coffee, brew, figure for I can get 4 - 10 oz cups of coffee from the Keurig 6 cup. a backward way of thinking about a 4 cup brew...anyone out there agree or disagree????
Perfect demonstration. Thank you. Is it possible to turn the hot plate on separately? Let's say the coffee in the carafe is cold and I want to warm it up.
The Carafe cracked and has been out os stock for 6 months. There are 2 different carafe and are not interchangeable cause one is shorter and does not fit the one with timer. The single cup works well. Wish the warming plate could be set for more than 2 hours.
If I understand your description correctly, you can turn it on and hit the brew button while it is still heating up, then it will brew when it’s ready. You don’t have to wait for it to heat up and then push the button. Great feature. I can’t count how many times I sit there watching mine heat up before I can start the brew. The K Duo Plus model that you showed at the end looks amazing. I followed your link and it’s a bit more expensive. Is there anything about it besides the price that turned you off of the K Duo Plus to choose this one instead?
Yes, just hit brew and wait for coffee. I don’t need to keep coffee warm which is the reason I didn’t get the Plus model. I brew and drink right away 😁
With the carafe, the minimum amount you can brew is 6? Or is that just for the pod side? I prefer a pot of coffee and usually only do 4 cups at a time. My husband prefers pods.
I struggled with it too. Nothing on the website either. Turns out you just need to fill the reservoir with water first to set the auto bre feature. Once filled push auto and set the time when the numbers blink. Was that so hard to do Keurig????
I can't set the auto brew. I filled the reservoir to the limit line. I still can't set the time for the auto brew. I tried unplugging it and plugging it back in. I could set the clock, but not the auto brew. I tried setting it with the machine on and with it off. Still nothing. I keep trying the same things over and over. There are only so many options.
@@davidalanlunde Odd, it does require for you to hit the power button on first then select Auto Brew. The icons will flash and you select the carafe first them select the number of cups and finally hit the center Brew button. I hope it works
Is there any way to turn on the carafe burner only? If we take longer than 2 hours to drink the pot it would be great to turn it back on or extend the time
The display on my Keurig K-Duo has become unreadable, so I can't set the time or use the auto function. Have you come across this issue, and if so is there a fix available? I've talked to Keurig Customer Support, however, they are not aware of this issue.
I have the regular Keurig duo with the strong button and with the auto timer.. however the unit did not come with detailed instructions on how to turn on the auto timer, do you have any insight? I tried to look up the information on the Keurig website and it is seriously lacking unless you're trying to buy something.
I am enjoying your reviews on coffee pots. I notice in a lot of the ones you say that the coffee is kind of weak...I’m looking to buy a new coffee pot. What one would you recommend? Not a kcup but a regular pot. Thanks
Thanks for the review, my question for you is, have you noticed the sound of the machine while its heating the water? Mine was pretty quiet when I first got it, after about it week it seems kinda loud now. Are you experiencing this as well? I'm curious if this is normal or not

👍😀
Do you buy any special coffee filters? I read in the instructions to use some certain ones? Just making sure, thanks!
I'm using just the regular 8 to 12 coffee filters from target and no problem with me
The display on my Keurig K-Duo has become unreadable, so I can't set the time or use the auto function. Have you come across this issue, and if so is there a fix available? I've talked to Keurig Customer Support, however, they are not aware of this issue.
I have had mine replaced 3 times, no demo on how to unclog tubing, I'm guessing that is the problem. Descaling doesn't work
I’m getting mine replace too haha and I just plugged it in too
I have the regular Keurig duo with the strong button and with the auto timer.. however the unit did not come with detailed instructions on how to turn on the auto timer, do you have any insight? I tried to look up the information on the Keurig website and it is seriously lacking unless you're trying to buy something.
We found a "settings" button on top and changed some features to meet our needs. I agree Keurig should provide some instructions with the machine!
Great, very detailed, review
Why do I have to turn on the Keurig machine to set the Auto Brew button for the next day when the Time is already set.
I am enjoying your reviews on coffee pots. I notice in a lot of the ones you say that the coffee is kind of weak...I’m looking to buy a new coffee pot. What one would you recommend? Not a kcup but a regular pot. Thanks
Hi, I’d recommend this: ruclips.net/video/M8lwMLOfX8M/видео.html or this: ruclips.net/video/AXJ2TvGPY10/видео.html Hope that helps 😀
Thanks for the review, my question for you is, have you noticed the sound of the machine while its heating the water? Mine was pretty quiet when I first got it, after about it week it seems kinda loud now. Are you experiencing this as well? I'm curious if this is normal or not

Perfectly normal.
What difference between 3 k-cup duo machines like and physical appearance. Performance how hot each unit makes coffee and how easy clean.
Beautiful review. Thank you soooo much 👍👍👍👍

Ok she said to use the strong button for both carafe side or k cup side but it won't let me on the carafe said only k cup side why
