HOS Sleeper Berth Video

The updated rule allows drivers to break up their sleeper berth into periods of 7 and 3 in addition to 8 and 2. The split could also be 7.5 and 2.5. The key is that the shorter of the two breaks must be a minimum of two hours as long as the two periods equal 10 hours. When the two sleeper periods are paired and total at least 10 hours, neither qualifying period counts against the 14-hour driving window. Additionally, if you take a split and the second period is at least 10 hours, you do not have to deduct the previous duty period. You start with a fresh 14-hour clock.

because of these new sleeper berth rules, I'm getting back to my car at appx 1345hrs instead of the old 1945-2000hr. love it.

The company that provide electronic log need to program new time in their aplication, or we are going to end up in violation each time we split the sleeper...

mehmed balic 100% I use big road and they did an update but yet here I am after a 3 hr break and the clock is still ticking on my 14

Geotab- this isn't working. Watched clock while on break, 14hr kept clicking down, still goin down after 3:52 on break at this point.
Came on duty at 3:45am, break at 7am, 4 hours in, clock continues to count down. I suspect it will reset as normal at 8 hours sb as previous rules allowed.
I will continue to check, as I suspect Geotab is not setup correctly on the update for the new HOS....
