This movie STAYS with you. I haven't stopped thinking about it and watching reaction videos since it's release. I really hope Demi gets an award for her work. SO GOOD
As a therapist, this is a fantastic depiction of what body anxiety and eating disorders are like for many people. The internal war between self and idealized self, self-rejection and hoped for acceptance, it's all there. A great way of helping people understand what people go through while also offering a sense of solidarity that those who suffer are not alone. Obviously it's not a perfect metaphor but, dare I say it, the substance of it is entirely there.
Honestly I struggle with some bad habits and the movie spoke to me so much. I'd even pull the whole "wow can't believe past me (a Separate Entity from current me, who is smart and knows better) would eat all that, what a worthless piece of shit. I'll just control myself better next time." The movie was kinda like a 2.5 hour wake-up call, and I've been trying to make improvements since.

Someone said in their review that the sexualization of Sue in this movie feels “sarcastic” in the way it is shot. And I couldn’t agree more. It’s over the top on purpose.
like the movie gets away with certain things because it’s written and directed by a woman, a very very smart woman at that, so we know a lot of it is more tongue in cheek than we might think if it was a male director ogling margaret qualley’s body
This movie in the theater with a crowd of people was amazing! It’s up for a lot of awards so far, deservedly so. Great reaction! The filmmaker’s prior movie, Revenge, is great as well.
I agree completely. I saw some people critiquing the Sue scenes a bit for being hypersexual and being a bit uncomfortable which is the point. Her Pump It Up scenes are supposed to be at 11 when it comes to the male gaze. That's supposed to be as uncomfortable to watch as the body horror elements. It's all symbolic and ties in together so beautifully. I could talk about this movie all day.
not only do I love the message of what happens when you obsess over appearance, I love the symbolism of Sue not being happy with what time she has so she makes bad decisions like taking spinal fluid that come at the cost of her older self it just really made me reflect on bad decisions I made when I was young and thought I was invincible and what consequences it still might hold for future me
Elisabeth and Sue are ONE consciousness but are two entities/egos. The movie shows you and tells you several times that they are one. Elisabeth is the one sabotaging herself when she is Sue. The film even shows Elisabeth going back into her own body when Sue first switches back (the man on the motorcycle). There wouldn't be a point to take The Substance if you weren't actually experiencing it. Elisabeth is living as Sue, not going to bed for a week.
Agreed. The amount of peole thinking Elisabeth isn't enjoying it. Its like having two Avatars or Skins. You essentially have to live both lives equally and nothing negative would happen. Then terminate the expirence whenever you want with no damage. That's the moral of the movie that people just want to ride out the expirence in the young body at the expense of the old body which includes degenerating the mind.
Yeah, if Elizabeth actually had any love/respect for herself, Sue would not have taken advantage of the original body in the way she did. It wasn't another person taking advantage; it was the fact that she didn't care enough about herself, especially in her aged body, to fight for herself. What a sad, sad mess.
This. Elizabeth also clearly recognised the motorcyclist which is why she was stunned in her tracks over his reaction. They’re both being controlled/experienced by Elizabeth but she gets so caught up in it that the personalities almost split off to a point because she’s fighting her own self for control.

I didn’t appreciate my ability to grow old until I had a heart attack at 45. I was told I would not survive a second one. so true. I have an ED, and the amount of times my mum tells me "Think of your body when your older. You're going to ruin it". But oh well. I continue to starve myself and say fuck it. I know I will regret it when I am much older and probably dealing with osteoporosis or heart failure. But I can't help but just be hyper focused on how I look now.
@@rabbitmaze Bold of you and your mother to assume you’ll live to be “much older” in your current state. What your mother said to you is not something you say to someone with an ED if you want them to get better. I hope someday you receive the help you deserve.
Excellent point. Elizabeth also knows that Sue is gonna eventually be passed over and kicked out without any respect just as Elizabeth was but she’s ignoring that for what she wants in the moment. Even though Elizabeth and Sue have different kinds of appeal at their career primes, they’re being treated the same by the industry.
59:00 Nikki's face was my facial expression for the final hour of this film. When I saw it in theaters, half the audience left before the ending and the other half was like "WTF did we just watch". On my way out, I heard a group laughing and someone said "We're all okay with aging gracefully, right?" 😅
2:41 i honestly think this really hits the point home. if a woman as in shape and beautiful at 61 as demi moore is considered washed up and too old there’s no hope for anybody
Respect to Demi for putting it all out there, literally, especially in the context of the movie saying that her body/looks/ageing is a bad thing. Also body horror is horror, it doesn't have to be scary, can make you feel at unease or grossed out, or just the horror of modern society.
Society practically obliges people to look young forever, and they often go to extreme measures to achieve that. When they transform into something unrecognizable (AKA a monster), people pretend not to notice-until they do, and then cast them aside for becoming something they find repulsive. This movie is genius.
She recently had a terrible plastic surgery job done a few years ago. that she got mocked heavily for, she obviously got it corrected either before shooting this or it was after.
Every woman I’ve talked to that is cool with horror that has watched this has LOVED it. I think it speaks to it hitting a relatable real life psychological horror that women are exposed to more often than men. The director being a woman probably has a huge hand in that. She’s only done two movies (this and Revenge from 2017) and they both fucking ROCK
I just realized that that yellow coat has got to be a reference to the egg yolk that was replicated at the beginning. Every detail matters in this movie, it’s so impressive.
Thank you Nikki said exactly what I always say about aging, Im glad I reached 45, my older brother didnt make it past 35 and my mom died at 47, and a lot of people dont make it past 50. Aging is a privilige not all of us have, i love my wrinkles and graying hair. (I also love white hair lol, but thats besides the point)
It takes place in an alternate 2024, where in this reality, it does snow in Los Angeles, and that people use old school phones, computers and TV sets from the 1980's and 1990's. Its called retro futurism.
That’s the conclusion I came to as well. It’s also an alternative world where show girls can be topless on live television & hosting a morning exercise show can get you a Vogue cover. LOL
I think the fact that Nikki could see the horror in the movie and Steven didn't speaks compliments the movie's message about what it's like for women in this society to get older.
Best movie of the year, so creative and purposeful. It just got nominated for 5 Golden Globe Awards today (Actress, Supporting Actress, Comedy Film, Screenplay, and Director). I hope it wins a few, Demi Moore deserves the win and an Oscar!! TT ❤
If this gets any kind of acknowledgement from the academy I'll be very surprised. I highly doubt it though since this movie seems to point the finger at Hollywood.
I agree with Nikki with the how and why this is still horror! I think the genre is definitely about exploring the terrifying parts of the human experience. It’s not jump scare horror, but still very scary 😩
I love that they cast someone who is objectively beautiful at 60, like so many, you go she didn’t even need to do any of it. They could have cast someone less attractive or older looking that you’d sympathize with but chose the other route
@@LMLafu oh without question. She got a horrible surgery a few years ago that she was unfortunately rightfully mocked for. She look like a fish on a hook, with a Glasgow smile. She. Clearly got that fixed but it was was such a botched. I hope she stops bc she looks fine as is now. I just don’t see how women get so much done now that they all look the same. They’re all getting the same plastic surgery bundle packages
Commentary on aging in hollywood, our obsession with beauty especially women's beauty, plastic surgery for the purpose of looking younger, loving yourself, obsessing with the past, self esteem, etc. However what i loved the most is that its not complicated the messaging and thematic elements are right on your face and I fucking love that, not every thematically rich movie has to be complicated, sometimes simplicity and spelling out to me exactly what you are trying to say is whats appropritate and they did it perfectly in this movie imo 😀😀
The body horror genre doesn't necessarily mean it's horror in the traditional sense. It's not a new genre either, so if you're interested, I would recommend "Raw" and "Titane", both by yet another French female director.
I love body horror because it’s often used as an exploration of unique themes and ideas. It’s a very broad sub genre compared to a lot of other horror sub genres. You could do a romantic body horror as much as you could do a sci fi body horror and both would be totally valid. The connective tissue (pun intended) is flesh, gore, transformations/mutations, disease, mutilations, unintended change, and other violations of the body.
1:07:55 love your guys analysis at the end , everyone else seems to be grossed out or not understanding the meaning but you 2 definitely nailed realizing what it is about! And loved the talk about how aging means youre lucky. Its true, so many people die before they even get their first wrinkle that shows being old and we shouldn't ruin ourselves for something temporary
Steven´s face is priceless in the last moments of the movie.... ahahahahah The definition of Horror is not just scaring us. Theres a misconception of the meaning of horror in movies. Horror is the main category... than theres subgenres... This movie is body horror. Body horror is supposed to disgust us. One of those examples is the fly (1986). It doesnt scare, but we feel disgust. What happen to baby jane is a example of horror movie, but it doesnt scare us.. its on the subgenre of pyshcological horror. Not every horror is designed to scare...
This is what happens when you support French filmmakers. Let them have Hollywood and the endless sequels and reboots will be replaced with movies that truly make you feel something and that cross every line imaginable.
I’m 52 now, and when you are doing full blown menopause like I do, this movie really hits you. In this stage of life you realize that the younger version you is definitely gone. I now wish I was as “fat” and “ugly” as I thought I was when I was 23. And yes, I am lucky to have made it this far, because 10 years ago I had a very bleak health scare so I’m just happy to be here, with my husband and see my sons grow up. And somehow you still end up feeling grief for what you have lost. You both look so gorgeous together and your videos always make me scream with laughter. Love from Holland!
Bravo to both of you! I cannot imagine sitting through this movie! It's WAY too horrifying. Demi Moore was incredible. Hope she is nominated for an Oscar, as she deserves to be!
The way I see this movie is that it's more than a horror movie but a body horror film kind of like The Fly (2005) where like almost the entire movie it's not going to show any scary but it will show you like getting uncomfortable ideas and when that 3rd act happens the horror shows in the most disgusting horrifying way as possible that's how I see it.
Easily the best movie that’s come out in the past several years. Had no idea what to expect going in and I was genuinely upset it was almost over once the final crawl to the star scene came on. Will never forget this movie
Haven’t even started yet but Thumbs Up just for watching this and I am really glad to see more people doing so. Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley, and Dennis Quaid all deserve Golden Globe and Oscar Nominations, but especially Moore. And the movie as a whole!
There's only Elisabeth but she's using two bodies. When you see Sue, that's Elisabeth. She's aware the whole time what she is doing when in her matrix body and in her clone body. It's never a surprise to her. What happens is her reaction to what she did. Like eating a tub of ice cream the night before, then waking up and hating yourself for doing it. So, it wasn't her clone taking from her. It was her in her younger body taking and just shrugging off what it would do to her older self. Like how we live it up when we're young with little regard for what it will do to us in the long run. Then we get old and feel the consequences and we hate our younger selves for doing that.
She is stealing time from herself though. As in literally. Just as phone guy keeps reminding her. They look different, but the conscience is getting transferred,so they are one person. Think of it as when you have a sudden boost of motivation to do something, but the next day , it is so hard to get out of bed, that cake looks so good, the work seems so daunting, we can start tomorrow. Two “yous”,one harming the other, and when you go back to being motivated you think what the hell is wrong with me, I should’ve started sooner
This was by far my favorite theater experience of the year. The reactions from the audience reminded me of Infinity War/ No Way Home. I actually love when audiences get super vocal haha
Also, I say this all time, but I LOVE how the magical product just works as intented. In every other movie, it would've gone sideways. But not here. The consumer, and their inner struggles, that's what creates the side effects. Brilliant.
you guys should totally watch Revenge (2017) which is made by the same director who made this film, Coralie Fargeat. It’s super stylistic with great performances and CRAZY AF as expected from her lol.
i love how this movie is so intentionally goofy and silly and kinda stupid but it does it in such an intelligent way that it can be all of those things while also being heartbreaking and real
Some people don’t understand the blood bath scene. I always interpreted it as what Dennis Quaid had mentioned that after 50 “it stops”. He was referring to menstruation. When Monstro went on stage they had a mix of voiceovers and you can hear Dennis Quaid say it again. So it’s almost like, if bleeding means so much, here you f***in’ go ! Almost triumphant in its release. Her being reduced to a puddle on her star, it was the end of a perfect cautionary tale.
With all due respect, I completely disagree with Steven on this film not being horror. It's body horror of the Cronenberg variety. Horror doesn't mean or guarantee jump scares or terror; horror deliberately tries to invoke fear by exploiting peoples' phobias. How that fear is manifested depends on the individual. Horror is vast and wide. Its spectrum is like no other movie genre, flooded with a seemingly limitless variety of subgenres. Just because you, yourself, didn't get spooked doesn't mean it wasn't horror. Respectfully 😅
This is called Body Horror, kinda like "The Fly" or in a lesser degree "The Elephant Man". Regardless, this movie kicked ass. I was extremely impressed with everything. A true classic.
I watched it at the movies and the reaction from others was gold! Hahhahaha what a ride; will go down in body gore history. But it is also carries a deep and cautionary tale. Brilliant.
when I first saw the trailer,I was intrigued and not knowing what to expect, but I HAD to see it in the theater.I am so glad I did...this is my favorite movie of the year.. I had a feeling you guys were going to do this and so glad you guys enjoyed it..I really hope the movie gets nominated come Oscar time..Demi Moore deserves not only a nomination, but she needs to win it,too
It is not a new genre. It is CALLED BODY HORROR. Check out some David Cronenberg films. THE FLY, SCANNERS, VIDEODROME..... there are many great Japanese BODY HORRORS, as well. My favorite is TETSUO: THE Ironman.
actually, watching your reaction video, i think i finally understand the concept: when elisabeth took the substance her consciousness was cloned as well, so while elisabeth has no idea whats going on with sue, from sue perspective, she is successfully "traveled" into younger body and having fun while hating her old self.
@@ekvilistit’s not all the time but after the second switch elisabeth’s confusion to what happened while we know she does share a consciousness with sue can be explained by the fact that sue was partying and probably drinking the night prior to the switch, causing her to become forgetful or may have blacked out, resulting in this affecting elisabeth as well after the switch. Plus, the man on the phone says “so respect it” specifically to elisabeth, and in this case if they really did have a separate consciousness, then it wouldn’t make sense because sue is the one who mainly disrespects the balance.
one of the best films of the year for sure probably takes the number 2 spot in my top 10 (just behind Challengers. i loved the homoerotic tennis movie). but god demi moore and margaret qualley killed it in this. coralie fargaet is one of the most exciting new filmmakers right now i love all her work and i can’t wait to see what she does next. and thankfully this seems to be getting a lot of love this awards season which is super rare for more experimental and horror esc films
awards shows rarely acknowledge horror but thankfully the substance seems to be getting a lot of nods and it seems pretty likely demi moore will be nominated for best actress at the oscar’s which would be huge!
It can be a commentary on SO many things in life for both men and women. Society's instilled views on women aging and the beauty/entertainment industry. The newest subtance of ozempic and the long term side effects we may not have even realized yet. Steroid abuse in the bodybuilding world. Overall its an extreme telling on self acceptance/love. Such an awesome movie!
Great reaction! For me the hardest scene is when she is supposed to meet Fred. She was so nervous to call him due to never having to ask a guy out up to that point and if she had just made it to the date she may have made a real human connection and maybe moved past feeling less than due to aging.
This movie is if body dismorphia was an actual person. Monstro ElisaSue is when the desperation to stay young and beautiful gets so out of hand that they get every surgery and procedure done until they don't even look human anymore. Just grotesque.
Dennis Quaid was a last-minute addition (Ray Liotta was originally cast). His scenes were among the last to be shot. He knocked this role right out of the park!

On my way out, I heard a group laughing and someone said "We're all okay with aging gracefully, right?" 😅
You watched T-R-A-S-H.
Stop replying to all the comments saying you hate the movie, we don’t care 😭😭
Ironically, the film I think best compares to this one is called Society.
@@NoirFan84 never seen it, I'm gonna check it out, thanks! o/
Perfect role for DM. She’s discussed her low self esteem & the extremes she went through to keep up with hollyweird standards!
totally agreed, perfect casting, basically a reflection of the 90's part of her career.
She recently had a terrible plastic surgery job done a few years ago. that she got mocked heavily for, she obviously got it corrected either before shooting this or it was after.
Her book is actually crazy, it's so good but her life has been insane
I saw this 3 times in the theatre. The audience was wild during act 3 haha
So glad to see you tackle the best movie of the year.
“I’m sure people were really grossed out by that eating….” Hold my beer.-movie 😂😂😂
To me the moral of the story is: No surgery or procedure in the whole world will make you love yourself.
Literally 😢
@@CeciliaTalamantes-yw3bh Well said ❣️
Lets just hope this movie won at least an oscar!
who cares about the oscars in 2024, those awards have been irrelevant for like 10 years lol
no joke this is probb the worst movie i ever saw in my entire life
so unbelievably bad
55:08 the way how it was filmed reminds me of the movie Black Swan (2010)!
I really hope that Margaret Qualley gets an Oscar nomination!
This was definitely one of the greatest experiences I’ve had in a theater
Demi looks AMAZING. And her and Margaret killed it! I saw this on premier day in a packed theatre and it was such a good experience
LOL
It almost feels like a cool video game setting in a way
@@MG-ql8sgsgloryholeI actually kept thinking about Cyberpunk 2077 throughout the film.
It was actually shot in southern France, only the picture from the windows is actually LA :)
1:08:00 🎉🎉🎉🎉 say it again!!! Old age is a blessing!!!
Good audio, editing and reaction 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I think the fact that Nikki could see the horror in the movie and Steven didn't speaks compliments the movie's message about what it's like for women in this society to get older.
This movie was absolutely insane! I loved it! Wow! What a wild ride this movie was. I definitely did not expect that ending!!!!!!
This is a subgenre of film its called “body horror” its sick and twisted but im starting to love it this movie was fucking amazing 😭😭
Best movie of the year, so creative and purposeful. It just got nominated for 5 Golden Globe Awards today (Actress, Supporting Actress, Comedy Film, Screenplay, and Director). I hope it wins a few, Demi Moore deserves the win and an Oscar!! TT ❤
I wish it had gotten Sound!
Oh that is awesome! I’m so glad!
If this gets any kind of acknowledgement from the academy I'll be very surprised. I highly doubt it though since this movie seems to point the finger at Hollywood.
Steven was absolutely killing me this reaction, I was in tears by the end of it!
A heartfelt coming of age movie
I agree with Nikki with the how and why this is still horror! I think the genre is definitely about exploring the terrifying parts of the human experience. It’s not jump scare horror, but still very scary 😩
The film serves as a horrifying cautionary tale on how far someone will go to become young and beautiful again, but at a terrible cost.
I love that they cast someone who is objectively beautiful at 60, like so many, you go she didn’t even need to do any of it. They could have cast someone less attractive or older looking that you’d sympathize with but chose the other route
Sad but true
And also addiction/substance misuse 😫
@@Knightowl1980whats more ironic is that she actually had plenty done to her face
Will always love Stevens “Letss go!” Before starting the film
@@Hattori_Hanzō_侍 Throw in some Cronenberg as well.
Agreed. This is not a new sub-genre like Steven proclaims. Body horror has been around for a long long time.
More recs. My two faves are Possessor and Starry Eyes.
I rarely hear anyone talk about Raw. I remember that movie so well.
YAY! Let's gooooo! Nikki&Steven have the best chemistry.
real underrated gem of this film: an incredibly cartoonish Dennis Quaid. Who knew?
1:07:55 love your guys analysis at the end , everyone else seems to be grossed out or not understanding the meaning but you 2 definitely nailed realizing what it is about! And loved the talk about how aging means youre lucky. Its true, so many people die before they even get their first wrinkle that shows being old and we shouldn't ruin ourselves for something temporary
we appreciate your comment, means a lot.
this is the one Ive been waiting for!., at about the 10 minute mark "this is F'ed up"!, dude you havent seen ANYTHING yet! LOL!!!.
Steven´s face is priceless in the last moments of the movie.... ahahahahah
The definition of Horror is not just scaring us.
@@dirtydinner6463 💯 Many of the most disturbing movies I've seen are French. They don't mess around when it comes to horror lol

lets goooo guys. I loved this movie it was great. i gave it a 9/10
I love Nikki’s proclamation of love for this movie 😂 made me so happy
I’m 52 now, and when you are doing full blown menopause like I do, this movie really hits you. In this stage of life you realize that the younger version you is definitely gone. I now wish I was as “fat” and “ugly” as I thought I was when I was 23. And yes, I am lucky to have made it this far, because 10 years ago I had a very bleak health scare so I’m just happy to be here, with my husband and see my sons grow up. And somehow you still end up feeling grief for what you have lost.
You both look so gorgeous together and your videos always make me scream with laughter. Love from Holland!
also also, after watching the recap, I have to applaud to Nikki. you just get it. great summary and mindset.
Your reaction at 13:47 is priceless. Two of the most real expressions of shock lol
YESSSS! As soon as I watched this movie I thought of you guys and how it would be a fun one to watch 😂
I liked this movie but also I’m so glad I didn’t see this in the theatre because the sound effects are SO GOOD lol
So glad this movie is getting award recognition! It got quite a few Golden Globe nominations. It’s def on my top 10 movies of all time list.
It’s werid and stupid not my type of movie nasty

@@SN-nu9kx The fact this film’s got nominations for Golden Globes are well-deserved.
That was the most sincere "WTF" I've ever heard someone yell out ever by Nikki LOL
I couldn't stop saying this, but Dami looks stunning for 62. ❤❤❤❤❤
Best film of the year, by far. It was refreshing, to watch something so bold in a big theater.
Easily the best movie that’s come out in the past several years. Had no idea what to expect going in and I was genuinely upset it was almost over once the final crawl to the star scene came on. Will never forget this movie
'Revenge' by the same director before this film, is also amazing.
BLINK TWICE...Please add that to your next poll! :) Thank you!
"Every day you wake up alive you ARE Blessed"
This was by far my favorite theater experience of the year. The reactions from the audience reminded me of Infinity War/ No Way Home. I actually love when audiences get super vocal haha
Also, I say this all time, but I LOVE how the magical product just works as intented. In every other movie, it would've gone sideways. But not here. The consumer, and their inner struggles, that's what creates the side effects. Brilliant.
you guys should totally watch Revenge (2017) which is made by the same director who made this film, Coralie Fargeat. It’s super stylistic with great performances and CRAZY AF as expected from her lol.
The scene where she's getting ready to meet Fred made me cry, bad memories! All better now 🤸♂️
Quite a few stellar reaction gifs from you both in this one LMAO. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!
I cannot believe I never thought of her yellow jacket as a reference to the egg yolk especially in that white room 😅
i love how this movie is so intentionally goofy and silly and kinda stupid but it does it in such an intelligent way that it can be all of those things while also being heartbreaking and real
1:36 "That's so random!" Oh, you poor, innocent soul.
I don't think I've seen Steven so giddy at a movie, super sweet, love you two 🤗😂
With all due respect, I completely disagree with Steven on this film not being horror.
Im on Nikki's side. This is body horror but also growing old is fearful and terrifying.
Embrace it it's going to happen
Sue is Andie MacDowell's daughter. From Groundhog Day and Multiplicity.

One of my favorite movies of the year. So insane and over the top but such a poignant message and perfectly executed.
actually, watching your reaction video, i think i finally understand the concept: when elisabeth took the substance her consciousness was cloned as well, so while elisabeth has no idea whats going on with sue, from sue perspective, she is successfully "traveled" into younger body and having fun while hating her old self.
No. The movie states it SOOOOO clearly: YOU. ARE. ONE. This is about how narcissism and self hatred go hand in hand.
@@jack_rabbit but why she always wakes up not remembering what she did in Sue body?
@@ekvilist I don’t think it’s ever stated that she doesn’t remember. In fact, there are several scenes that hint at them remembering certain things
@@b_yu_vi she (elisabeth) also didn’t remember (or didn’t know) what sue said at the late night show
one of the best films of the year for sure probably takes the number 2 spot in my top 10 (just behind Challengers. i loved the homoerotic tennis movie). but god demi moore and margaret qualley killed it in this. coralie fargaet is one of the most exciting new filmmakers right now i love all her work and i can’t wait to see what she does next. and thankfully this seems to be getting a lot of love this awards season which is super rare for more experimental and horror esc films
Saw this in the theatre and when I tell you one other person and I stood up and clapped at the end credits 😂😂😂
awards shows rarely acknowledge horror but thankfully the substance seems to be getting a lot of nods and it seems pretty likely demi moore will be nominated for best actress at the oscar’s which would be huge!
Hasn’t even started yet and I cannot WAIT for this reaction lol
The genre is 'phantasmagoric'.
Such an awesome movie!
with this movie in the theater I cried, I screamed, I laughed, I felt every possible feeling and I left the theater wanting to see the movie again.
I freaking love this movie I’m obsessed with it. One of the best films of the year for sure
I just LOVE how much Nikki in particular loved this movie! I did too, but have been afraid to recommend it because it's so damn twisted
Dennis Quaid was a last-minute addition (Ray Liotta was originally cast). His scenes were among the last to be shot. He knocked this role right out of the park!
And in 40 years, there will be a remake with Margaret Qualley in the Demi Moore role because the cycle will never end.
