- The video above shows how I fixed the Black and Decker battery not charging issue.
First, you would need another battery with similar or around the same voltage with the faulty battery.
After that, connect the Positive terminal of the battery to the Positive terminal of another battery.
Also, the Negative terminal of the battery to the Negative terminal of the another battery.
Let it stay connected for few seconds, and now the battery should have been resetted successfully.

Can you advise how to do this if you don't have a second battery?
This may be a little late to answer but I would borrow one.
Thanks a lot for this awesome trick! I tried it out, and it worked perfectly for me. My drill and impact driver's battery are charging again because of it. I really appreciate you sharing this-great video!"
I bought a B&D weed trimmer on Amazon that had two batteries and they came dead so had to return it for a replacement. The replacement came and the two batteries were also dead. The batteries had a 2021 date and this is 2024. I found this video and took a B&D 20V battery I had for my drill and did this battery reboot on the two dead batteries and it worked perfectly and I am now able to charge the two dead batteries. Great help thanks for doing this video!
What kind or wire is thst
I bought a new grass trimmer from b&d both batteries had blinking red light on charger for many hours, I tried your trick with my drill battery and it worked perfectly, thanks
Thank you it fixed my brand new batteries that I had not used for last 2 years.
I have a 40v battery for a B & D trimmer it will not charge. It doesn't have a lot of useage. When I check the voltge I get 36.2v. When I put it in the charger it blinks green 3 to 5 seconds then flashes red. I tried what you did with a good battery to no avail any suggestions. Thanks
My impact driver crapped out and the rapid charger had a solid red light, 20V measured at contacts. I jumped it with a dead battery right out of the box with a rapid blinking red light on the OEM charger. Started charging with the rapid charger, put the battery back on the drill and it was working fine (weird). The new battery also was fixed as it went from 2V to 8V and now has a blinking green light on the OEM charger.. Saved me the expense of buying new battery packs.
Thank you, saved my day works great!
This video shows 2 working batteries at the start and 2 working batteries at the end. Not sure if you’re trolling with this but I believe so.
The battery that blinks red is not working.......it's not taking a charge. If it was charging, it would be blinking green.
It works I just did it today. My battery was flashing red. And now green and charging
I think I had a bad battery but I ordered a new one. Sucks this didn’t work for me but good for you guys
Yeah I had two dead B&D 20V that came with a weed trimmer and was able to reset them with a 20V battery I had with my drill. Worked like a charm so this video is someone trolling.
This works! I received a new battery today, and it would not charge (rapid flashing red on the charger). Thank you for such an easy fix! God Bless you!
Thank you so much
can i connect 20v good battery to 18v bad battery and fix it?
