The sad thing is that the human drama would have worked, if it was better done. Dealing with the human tragedy of the war and trying to find the humanity of Chief who was forced to be a soldier since being kidnapped as a child, or showing the darker side of the UNSC would all be very interesting. But it was all surface level and without proper understanding. Dr. Halsey's experiments were crimes against Humanity. But they also saved humanity. The UNSC may have been oppressive to the Outer Colonies and left them out to dry when the Covenant came, but during the war it was all necessary evils. Evils that later on corrupted the UNSC further and nearly turned it into a full fascist state, had it not been for the actions of a few people like Lord Hood. There are countless stories that could be told in the universe of Halo, they just chose to pick the absolute worst ones and slam them together with no real thought in it beyond 'its a brand that we can sell'. (Though they really needed to cut out the canon breaking 'one human accepted by the covenant who later sleeps with the chief' because that is just fanfiction level stuff. I'm not saying Chief should never have any feelings or desires for someone else. But it would make so much more narrative sense for it to have been another spartan like Kelly, or even Cortana.)
Hi! So, I have watched the first 4 episodes of the original season 1 and I am hating it. I want to watch season 2 but I can't finish the it. I've decided to look for fan edits. I found a guy who did a 3 hour and 25 minute edit and added in game music. I think I am just going to end up watching that as I assume it'll allow me to follow the new season. I am actually super interested in your 20 minute edit of forward onto dawn though! So exactly how do I message you???
imagine your edit getting passed on yo a guy who can work with music and sound effects...then he passes it on to a guy who can do vfx work..then it gets passed on to a guy who can do voiceovers...then it gets passed on to a guy to some some polishing...and we hold a pettition to release as an official cut...and just like that it replaces the show ...
