Hey cool video! I would suggest anyone watching this - "Exploring Abandoned Mines" has done a multi-video series on the history and walk-thru of the buildings, etc. It's worth a watch if your curious for other related content. Keep the content rolling! (edit - I see he posted below.... quick link!)
@@thewestmurph not a lot...yet. OME 3" Lift, Method 703 wheels, BFG KO2s and the Freespirit Odyssey RTT. A few other little things but some big stuff to come soon :)
Another extremely cool video. I don't know if this will help your friend with the very awesome Volvo, but back in the day I had an old square-nose 1966 Dodge van than ran hot a lot. I was able to take the heater hoses that went to the heater core inside the van and reroute them to a big heater core that I bought from a junkyard and then placed in the front so air flowed over it. Instant auxiliary radiator. Of course I had no heat, but that wasn't a problem in the summertime. Your channel never ceases to amaze me with your content. The drone shots over the old buildings were incredible.
It is properly called an ore bin. You were in the lower level of the French Mine. One of the most popular tourist mines in BC. Famous for a staggering amount of empty beer cans! As you know you can't drive far into it. Where you drove into connects to the level with the ore bin at the bottom. The Mascot with the buildings is far more interesting. We spent a lot of time underground there but you can't drive to it and you need ropes to get into the lower levels.
Another great movie. Is clearly one of my favourites. Above all, your dry humor, which flashes again and again, is the spice on top. Great squad. Great food. And equipment that leaves nothing to be desired. Mario Kart, for real? You guys are so positively crazy. You can imagine that. Keep it up. Respectful greetings, Michi.
I love Jeepin. I got rid of mine, and miss it. Florida doesn’t have terrain like this, though, haha. Either way, every one of these videos is so beautifully put together it’s incredible. The wheeling action and the B roll shots are amazing.
Thanks for another scenic trip in our beautiful province. This video is our back yard more or less and we've been to many of the spots over the years. There used to be a really spooky thin part of the trail up top that I'd not want to do in our 2500 Dodge anymore. The remains of a yellow Samurai used to be down at the bottom there - chap didn't make it in the mid '80's. Anyways thanks for showcasing our part of the world, nice to see some of it from the drone for sure. Stay well.
Another epic adventure. Bravo! I've said it before, and I'll say it again, how blessed are we to live in BC? The most incredible place on earth, IMHO. The fellow in the Taco is a good buddy of mine, thanks for helping him out of a jam!
Once again.. Awesome video. I recently added a ARE topper and my Tuff Stuff roof top tent onto my Jeep Gladiator. Im looking at getting a dual swing out tire carrier, tire on passenger side... jerry cans on driver side. Can't wait tell next weeks episode.
Last camping 20 years!!! I was in middle school when I first went camping 2nd worst experience ever but hey I been camping at least once every year since then.
This channel has become one of my favorites as we wait out Covid 19 in our home country New Zealand. Our truck is parked in Australia waiting for our return. Cheers Ro
Sweet!! Not sure i its still open but i you ever get the chance go check out carolin mines. We rode our quads in there twice. Was the coolest thing I've ever seen. Could easily drive a truck through. Does a few spirals through the mountain and comes out the other side. Theres a huge pit in the middle I'd say almost the size of a football field and like 50 feet tall that all the other small shafts lead into. So glad I got to check it out
Another great video Shaun! Love the beautiful scenery... you guys look like you have so much fun... love watching your Rigs exploring... oh, you look so much younger w/o the beard 😀
Funny - I watched the Epic version first and was eyeing up that SmartCap wondering if I missed something..... addressed by the clean-shaven Shaun right off the hop 👍. If I were ever to upgrade from my JK it would be a Gladiator with a solid topper.... the storage!
I’ve had the SmartCap since August. How you like it so far? It’s nice to keep the gear dry I bet! Have you noticed a weight difference? I had to upgrade my leaf springs to Deaver Stage 3s. Also what rack did you get? I had to shave down my Front Runner rack stud plates as they were too wide to fit the RSI channel.
That essential travel eh!? Lol, think I might know where the next video will be based out of. Super stoked you did this drive. I recently just found out about it and was gonna head there next month. Guess that’ll have to wait. Thought I saw your rig drive passed me on the weekend. Cheers! Thanks for the amazing content stay safe out there
@@TheStoryTillNow No thank you. Thanks for all your hard work that you put into these videos for me and my son to watch Every Monday and now Thursday nights.
Don't go exploring abandoned mines! With that being said, if you're going to go in them anyways, take a 3 gas monitor (pretty cheap considering they'll save your life) and absolutely don't go into a tunnel where the air feel stagnant (if you can feel any breeze that's usually enough air for people). That way you don't die from something you can't see. Cave-in, loose rock falling from the back of the tunnel, etc. could still get you but at least you've got a fighting chance against those things since you can actually see them. False floors are probably the second most dangerous thing in these old mines... If you can't see the floor, particularly if it's obscured by water, the wood planks might be rotten or it might not even be there.
Love this area! Was that first camp the one right before the top mine you drove in? there's km's of mine shaft in there and it connects to that lower mine entrance that you were at.
Haha, got a bit of a shock, the beard's gone. Lol A smart cab is what we're looking at getting too for our gladiator. As you said, dust proof but also more secure. Great video.
Shaun, Is that a solar panel that you run on the hood? I’ve been watching you, Casey_250’s and Epic’s video for a bit. I just haven’t seen one for a dual battery/solar setup.
It was renovated and turned into a tourist attraction, but it's been closed down for a couple of years now, so it's abandoned again. It may re-open in the future.
@@TheStoryTillNow Epic trip, the views were spectacular! Is there any way you could share what the mine on the hillside was called? I'd like to know more about it.
A legit question as I'm starting in overlanding and off-roading - How do you ensure enough gas for all of this driving? Is it not really that far? It seems like you're driving all day. I get you can bring a jerrycan or two but is that enough? I need to sort out a spare fuel situation for my 4Runner

Yup we put on our sandals open the front window and turn the heat to full. This was especially fun in Death Valley 🥵
Ok, I gotta be honest, I really dig the C303!
Nostalgia! I drove those Volvo L33* vehicles in the military in Sweden! They’re nicknamed “valp”, which means puppy in Swedish.
Those mining buildings on that cliff! That would be a crazy place to work.
Your friend hasn’t been camping in so long he doesn’t know it’s called overlanding now.
Or overglamping when there's mariokart involved
They're two different things.

When I read the title of this video, the first thing I heard in my head was Gandalf yelling "INTO THE MINES!"

Great advice. Oxygen meter if the air is stagnant. Multi-gas a real good idea for detecting dangerous levels of asphyxiants. BE SAFE!
