you probably dont care but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream all the new movies on InstaFlixxer. Been binge watching with my brother for the last couple of days :)
The cars looked better..... it was ok to have the sponsor logo a little cut off the edges to see who they were....... plus the TV coverage was better......... minimal camera changes..... really only corner to corner & few super zoom in shots. Average 6 to 7 camera changes but now a days at a track like Pocono it is like 10.
Thank you very much for these classic 2001 uploads. They are classic to me because I started watching Nascar in 2001. I was about 8 or 9 years old and I will never forget it, especially Nascar on Fox's early seasons. My family didn't understand it because they didn't like and still don't like Nascar but at that young age I soaked up a lot of this motor sport. Now I am starting college and somethings have changed, but Nascar will always have a special place in my heart.
A slightly sleep deprived Mike Joy, Darrell Waltrip, and Jeff Hammond after they flew back to Pocono after doing the Busch race at Kentucky the night before.
ricky rudd ended up getting the pole by almost a whole second over the 2nd place car if i remember. I've never seen that since watching nascar in the late 90's. One of the most dominating racecars i've ever seen. My dad was in a nascar pool and he asked me who he should take and I was like DUH Ricky Rudd lol
Back when you actually KNEW what car was what. When cars had personality and character- Ricky Rudd's badass Havoline, Mark Martin and Dale Jarrett going in new directions with Viagra and UPS, and the Dodge!
2001 Pocono 500 Location: Long Pond, Pennsylvania Track: Pocono Raceway Type of race track: Superspeedway Starting cars: 43 Finishing cars: 37 Laps: 200 Cautions: 7 Pole Winner: Ricky Rudd (28) Most laps led: Jeff Gordon (24) (86 laps led) Race Winner: Ricky Rudd (28)
45:00 (or so) One of the first instances of a NASCAR mandated caution for competition reasons (rain washing away the track the night before). Wasn't a common ploy back then, but its very common now.
I started out a HUGE Davey Allison fan and just stayed with whoever they put in the 28.Wish Rudd could've got in there a little earlier.Hard nose no non sense racer.Look at the transformation it's turned into-Kyle Larson.Hopefully the kid can figure it out.Racing just is'nt the same anymore though.
Fox had some great camera angles back then. Showing the whole field multiple times. It’s rare for them to show anyone farther back then 5th now! Come on FOX get back to these great broadcasts.
It amazes me how much better the racing was back in these days as compared to now. In my opinion NASCAR's competition on the track started to wane when they went to that stupid common template in 2003. That plus this worthless COT are what's killing the product on the track these days.
Something about these early '00s cars, they just looked and sounded perfect. I loved this era of NASCAR so much!

Final Cup race of Wally Dallenbach Jr. before he became a commentator.
I was so glad to see The Rooster back in victory lane.

Fox did so well with their graphics and coverage of the sport back in the early 00’s
Man have they fallen.

WFLD Chicago? Well that makes this watching experience that much more immersive, since i'm from there lol.
The race of the fathers day
27:29 such a great camera angle, seeing three cars kiss the wall on exit so close to the lens gives me chills
that was one of the biggest wrecks I've seen at Pocono as far as cars involved
That and either 2009 or 2010 when Kahne went up onto the wall
That was a great day. Thanks for posting this one!
1:06 Baby Chase Elliott
Baby champion now lol
4:50 The correlation between wrestling and racing continues!
DW Picked The Right Driver That Day
good race thanks
First race I ever watched. Words cannot describe the thanks I have for you for posting this.
@KingCuervo88 How about Kasey Kahne almost going out of the park and the 10 car pileup in 2010?

I'll never forget jumping around the living room when Ricky finally got back in victory lane
Ricky Rudd doing a burnout is awesome
i like the fox sports intro
I'd heard about the lap 52 wreck, but never seen it. I think you're the first person to post it on RUclips.
Will always miss Dale Earnhardt Sr! May he Bless the spectators and racing for all in Heaven! Gloria and Bear from Tx

The only thing I like about this track is the different shifting points for each drivers around the track.
(dmetl) #307 - 257th race that has sped thru my mind ... 57th on the net
i feel bad for dale jr he can no longer celerbrate father's day with his dad we still miss dale sr rip dale earnhardt
We mail Dale Earnhardt Sr so much! Sorry about your losing you Dad! We miss him so much and will love Sr forever! The Oppermans from Tx
The Steve Park flip in 2002 wasn't that big, it was just him, Dale Jr, and Rusty Wallace, it was also the scariest crash in Steve Park's racing career
Thanks.
i got Pocono every year i love it
Back when debris on track caution was the exception, not the norm
What is the name of the song played at 19:16?
2 years later................the Ramones "Blitzkrieg Bop"
This was a cool race. Jeff Gordon Vs the Yates boys, Ricky Rudd breaks a long winless streak…Just a cool race.
@nadeau1064 You son of a.... Haha it doesn't show a dislike on my end... ?
2:30:18 The Music!

Kyle Larson is already starting to rise. He's won races at Michigan, and Auto Club. He's a next-gen star in the Cup series.
@SammyInABox 1 2021 Champion
I still see Davey Allison going out through there .

My First Race I went to.

@de31168 true true
Ack! I hit the "dislike" button by mistake! My bad.
Love the ol ads
9:43 Steve nailed it 🤣
26:32 it sounds so weird for him to say anything but boogity lol
Or Steve Park's flip?
That was August 2002 I know that for a fact cause that was the first race i went too in person even though I've been a fan since 92
Terry Labonte could've won if he didn't have pit road problems before the race began

rebelracing88 This Car Of Tomorrow and the 2nd one is SAFER than ever before. How many drivers have died in these racecars since then.
Racing isn't as fun as it was back then, that's for sure.
2:56:26 what d heck Jr. doin?
35:34 is that the 1st time ever that DW said boogity boggity boogity????
No, Darrell Waltrip's first Boogity Boogity Boogity came from the 2001 Coca-Cola 600 or something
