Smile Like You Mean It by The Killers for all the tempers flaring, Hot-Hot-Hot by Buster Poindexter for the theme of Summer, and Hot in Here by Nelly because it was a blistering day and overall a blistering Summer. Love it!
I remember watching this race live outside on the porch. I was grilling burgers and thinking the 10 car of Riggs looked funny without a left front fender after the tire went flat and bent the bodywork of the car.
It's kind of ironic that these were the most far from their "Stock" counterpart. Nowadays the Camry is like the new Taurus since Ford and Chevy are so close to their current street models. Hell, bet a normal person that isn't into racing and cars cant tell from a GT4 Camaro, to a ZL1 street camaro and a Cup one.
This race to a certain degree effected Edwards' Busch Series championship aspirations since the race at Nashville was postponed to Sunday and Hank Parker, Jr. drove the 60 car as a result of winning.
Roush used to be a freaking beast in the Tauruses. They have really never been quite the same with the Fusion- they placed a driver in the top 5 all but 1 year with the Taurus.
Brian Vickers wishes this race wasn't 500 miles, because if they had changed the distances 10 years before they did, he would have won the race since he led Lap 160.
Far and away the ugliest looking paint scheme Carl Edwards has ever won a race in. And that's hard to say, since he usually has terrific paint schemes- Scotts, Office Depot, Subway, Aflac. Hell, even the rare AAA car from this year. But.... not this car.
I love these days, the #DODGE
had the absolute KILLER LOOKS 👊🤩

I miss the Ford Taurus. Those cars looked so sleek. The Ford Fusion Cars always had a funny look with the front bumper.
First car based off a 4 door model to win a cup championship if I remember right but it was with the 4 "eyed" second gen

Why DID Ford switch to the Fusion?
That Stonebridge Life of Carl Edwards scheme was a nice looking car, too bad they never made a 1/64 diecast for it.
Thank god this race isn't 500 miles anymore lol I remember this race would take well over 4 hours
