    This Cantata series is splendid but people should be aware that the skill exhibited here on the slide horn is exceptional. The instrument is very rare and arguably the most difficult of all brass instruments to play; the performer here is Olivier Picon and his performance is outstanding by any standards.

      Thank you very much for your kind words. We will pass this on to Olivier Picon.

    What I love about Maestro Lutz and this band is that they are always able to bring out the wonders in each and every one of these cantatas, from the best-known to the more obscure. Many of these have become to me like new pieces in the hands of Herr Lutz.

      Thank you very much for your comment. We feel the same way you do, every concert contains a surprise and shows the quality of Bach and Lutz's work.

    Merci à vous tous. Vous nous donnez en ces époques troubles, une ouverture lumineuse sur l'espoir. Vous savez donner à la musique de JS Bach une clarté, une fraîcheur, un relief hors du commun. Merci.

    The bass aria starts almost at a frantic pace, then it slows down and sounds pastoral. Only Bach could do this in a smooth manner.

      It wasn't Corona. It was the evil scheming intended to nudge or force us into an experimental medication... in order to make the richest even richer. Sad and shocking truth. The scientists in the German institute RKI ( "Robert Koch Institute" ) had known it from the beginning. The leaked protocols prove it. And explain why they had published them only half blackened....
      The evil people had not been exposed and stopped by the scientists.
      There WERE scientists, indeed, who spoke out - but they were silenced. A crime against humanity.

    • @gabiheintz4001

      By the way: This is the German Innerlichkeit ! There are so deeply tauchen by the Musical that they nieder some seconds to be able to break the magical silence. A star violinist who gave concerts all around the world was asked which people were the most musical one. He answeted: "The Germans!
      Why?
      You can measure musical feeling by counting the seconds an audience needs to be able to applaud.... "
      So, it's not a lack of feeling - it's being overwhelmed by feelings that makes them keeping quiet in love, adoration and gratefulness .

    Is there any particular criterion that governs the decision whether or not to include interludes by the continuo keyboards between the strophes of final, otherwise "cantional" style chorales (I notice none occur here, but have heard them in others). Thanks, Peter Watchorn (wonderful performance, by the way - bravo and thanks!).

    • @konrad.bach4ever
      @konrad.bach4ever 4 года назад +7

      Hello Dmitry, it is a "corno da tirarsi". We don't know how it looked like in reality because there isn't any existing these days. But with this - recently built -instrument we think Oliver Picon comes near to the original sound in Bachs time. It sounds great anyway, and so it cannot be wrong. But there are of course other solutions to this problem, and they aren't wrong either.
