In my opinion it's a good instrument for that cheap price. My bouzouki has no pick-up. I recorded it with a mic and used effects like chorus and reverb for a richer and wider sound. I've never tried another bouzouki, so I can't really compare it with a higher priced instrument.
I understand it's not "High Quality", but the tone can be improved with higher quality strings and so forth. What's it like for soloing and what not? I'm sorry if I am asking a few too many questions, but I just want to have a fair idea of what I'm getting myself into...

I love the simplicity of the tune, yet its richness. I was thinking of buying a Hora Irish Bouzouki, how do you like yours? Would you recommend it?

yes it is a bit, but for a begginner, the quality doesn't matter. Whne i'll have the time, i'll buy a better quality one.
