Dude this set is amazing! I really love all of the detail on this set! I think it will look nice with some other city sets as well! overall nice build and good job!
While I do like this set, and the design, I have to agree, it is way overpriced. I checked S@H and here in Canada, its $100. It should be a $80CAD/$60USD at most. Nonetheless, the buildings do look cool, and I really like the repair truck so I probably will pick this up on a decent discount at some point.
I have to agree with you. Plus the light truck is so awesome. I will pick this set up even if I'm not a fan of pricey sets. Even at 80$ can is a little pricey for me but there a lot of useful parts that I dont have that I might need for my moc lumberyard
@@renemichaud8751 I have to agree, the set is a great parts pack. I'm hopeful walmart will reduce the price at some point. They've done frequent deals with numerous city sets over the past year that have been very helpful.
As much as I would like to wait, theres been a shortage of lego sets on line and my birthday is coming up soon and I still have online gift cards. I think I've found a way to attach the old base plates 32×32 or the 48×48 to the new system plates i just have to buy a starter pack. I'm 98% confident its gonna work.
Cool set. I like the bakery build + those minifigures. It's nice to get a torso with cleavage. And that's a clever fire hydrant build. That white 1×2 printed plate that's used for the computer keyboard is awesome. Not sure if it's been used before, but I found a few of them at a collector's store that sells Lego by the pieces. They sort their Legos by color in bins. Digging to the bottom of the bins reveals overlooked printed plates :) Great way to collect the green 1×2 dollar prints too. Because who doesn't want stacks of hundos in their Lego civilization? After reaching a population of 50 your minifigures begin holding town meetings and referendums to begin printing currency, and establishing a central bank. ...i smell a Lego Ideas build; the Lego Federal Reserve Mint!
Cool review. Yeah, agreed that the price is too high for just a bunch of store front facades (and not real full buildings) and road plates. I'm going to wait for a discount before picking this up.
I love this set except for the grey base plate the stores are on. I think it would've been better if the interior floor of these shops were a different color it looks weird the way it's the same plate used for the side walk.
Yeah this set definitely doesn't give me that $80 sense, if they had more exclusive things like figures, colors, and molds then I can see it, but the price being what it is just because of those plates, nah. But it's a great set so I agree, get this on sale or just Bricks and Pieces or Bricklink parts you want.
Bike frame piece I think was used for the ice cream cart in the fair ground people pack from 2019. Looks super over priced for what you get. 60$ is already Borderline though it seems to be the pricing trend for the last 10 years.
80 bucks for 533 pieces? That's ridiculous. It's not like lego city is a licensed theme like star wars. And in my opinion this set is kinda cool...the box looks cooler than the set itself though but i must say the road plates add a lot and really make the set look a lot better
Imagine never having seen some bone-headed gym rat stereotype who cut the sleeves off of a hoodie. Does this guy just *not* go into public spaces? Also, did he just forget the word 'bakery'???
Yep too expensive for what ya get, and there are plenty of other lego sets either just released or releasing very soon that seem like way better deals or are just completely irresistible to me (the new modular, the lantern festival, even other city stuff) that I just can’t imagine I’ll have the budget for this too. I shall wait a few months and catch a sale, if I pick it up at all. I feel like this is one of those sets that lego priced knowing it was going to be marked down fairly quickly. As usual this wave seems to be a mix of sets that have totally justifiable prices and some others that seem much more optimistic.
Still wondering why female minifigures don't have a unique torso... Fans even made some that are just as sturdy as the official version. Just a minor nitpick since I keep thinking those sideprints for female torsos are actually part of their shirt or jacket for some reason XD
Yeah as over priced as Donut Shop was last year it didn’t feel terrible looking at this just feels way worse. Only thing I see that I really like is the Light Truck for infrastructure in a city.

This is $119 Australian that’s beyond stupidly expensive
@@WhiskeyShred Similar situation here in Canada, its $100 - for only 500 pieces thats kinda nuts
@@demhipyoungsters insane, that’s Star Wars prices
@@WhiskeyShred omg knowing how high LEGO Star Wars prices are In Canada, I cant even imagine how crazy they are in Australia
@@WhiskeyShred It's funny since it's city sets that are actually pretty overpriced as compared to any other theme.
The stores look so small compared to the road plates...
Yeah definitely the stores should have been bigger
They should have been one floor taller or 4-6 studs bigger(from the back).

Meanwhile the family houses price shocked me as I was expecting it to be overpriced lol
The Family House is overpriced considering the small amount of interior space but this has a far more ludicrous price.
Not too much
The box made this set look cooler 😢

Something that lego city should make next year, is a Lego City Mall. It could also come with some road plates.
Another set where there is more road than shop

It is £60 in the UK so if they made the set $60 it would only cost £45 in the UK which Lego would feel was to cheap.
Love your vids man keep it up

The stores look like facades from a movie set
Great review man!
I can’t believe this is $80 and the house is $60. The road plates are nice but not THAT nice if they drive the price up so much.
So true
Just2good I think Pretzel Girl works at that shop lol
The bike piece was in the fun fair people pack as the bike of an ice cream cart
OMG did anyone else notice that the kid kinda sorta looks like Max from the magazines.
Thank god this popped up right when I started eating

Cool lego set keep it up bye bro
The ¨City Service¨ logo kind of remind me of ComEd?
The road plates will be great for building roofs, but I want more of the original road plates. I’ll buy this at a discount though.
In Canada it's a 100$ set but I have a good idea moc for a lumberyard. My favorite item is the light repair truck
It wasn't mentioned but Gramps' hair in that color only appears in one other set on Vernon Dursley
Wow
I wanted so much to hear your opinion on this set! So many good printed parts I wanna pick up, but this set feels sooo overpriced
its pretzel girl's dad
Hey are you saying that each road set is gonna be short two 2x4 grey tiles, so you can’t actually connect them?
