These arms of mine, they are lonely,
    Lonely and feeling blue.
These arms of mine, they are yearning,
    Yearning from wanting you.
And if you would let them hold you,
Oh how grateful I will be.
These arms of mine, they are burning,
    Burning from wanting you.
These arms of mine, they are wanting,
    Wanting to hold you.
And if you would let them hold you,
Oh how grateful I will be.
Come on, come on please let them.
    Just be my little woman.
    Just be my lover.
I need me somebody, somebody to treat me right.
I need your arms, loving arms to hold me tight.
I need your, I need your tender lips, to hold me,
To hold me together when I'm around you.

No words to truly describe how much this song means to me and to countless others, I'm sure. I wasn't born when this classic was released but it speaks so masterfully on how it feels to really be in love. Today's music focuses so much on the physical act of sex that it has completely lost touch with the anticipation, intimacy, and romance.

I sang this with my uncle once. We'd never jammed together. My father was a musician and named me after this legend. My uncle was shocked how much I sounded like Otis. I saw his smile as soon as I sang. Such a special moment. He joined my father in heaven not long after that but I was so blessed to have had that moment with him. Never got to sing with my father because he passed before I could but that moment with his brother (my uncle) made up for it big time.

I am grateful to have my parents at my close to middle age. And grateful that my dad gave me Otis, ccr, jackson, etc. Especially since he is a European immigrant. Zeppelin and Floyd I found on my own, but my dad knew and seen them.
