When I first met my husband he loved drinking all the time....His addiction took over..I stayed and helped him...went to AA, and ask Jesus to helped him....We are married 44 years...He is sober 45 years....He took it a day at a time....I am so blessed to have the best husband..I told him...He was my diamond in the rough..
I only heard this song once and fell in love with it. My husband didn't drink but when I first met him. It was drugs that he used to take and like you said. I stood by him taking it one day at a time. I was the one with the alcohol problem and the weird thing was that all it took was 1/2 pt daily. I met him in a detox program and even though they say not to start a relationship with anyone in a program. We did and I waited 10yrs to say "I do" and he was the happiest man in the world. Vegas there we went. Sadly to say that after 32 years together he passed 9 days before our wedding Anniversary. I know for afact that there's only 3% of good husband like the one I had. It's going to be 2yrs and I miss him every second of the minute. Good luck to all those who are going through any kind of addiction.
Your story is sooo inspirationally touching. Addiction is a demon, and I wouldn't wish it on the devil. Only God can give you the patience of endurance to help a person to break free. And it's even more difficult when there are people (family members, etc.) in their lives who do not know what the ef it's all about, and instead of helping, they are antagonists. That's my story
So sorry for your loss. May God enrich your life with peace in the loss of your husband & give you the many blessings of strength & hope for the future. From a random stranger in Colorado, your story tugged at my heart strings a little. Thank you for sharing.
I don't know where you get 3%, but it sounds right to me from what I've seen. I've lucked out in that area and don't know why. My husband has stood by me 22 years of me fighting drinking and drug addictions. I'll never understand why.
My husband and I have been married for 40 years, We played this song at our wedding in 1981! Slow dance all your life, it's so nice to just let it al go.
Well my girl left cause of drinking, it went from her asking me to marry her to her never talking to me again , it’s been 2 months and I still think about her to this day!
Some of my family and I used to go to karaoke, often to the same place. At one of the bars/restaurants an old man and his wife would be there and he would always sing this song. One of those times, I noticed that he was not there but during the session,an old lady came up to the stage and proceeded to sing this song. It was his wife and she dedicated that performance to her husband who had recently passed away. I still get emotional over that every time I hear “Tennessee Whiskey “ and it is still one of my very favorite songs.
I was reading some of the comments, and I’m sending heart felt love to everyone here. Also for the people who have suffered great grief and loss, whether past or present… I want to Congratulate you on finding your triggers and dealing with them. I hate country music, but this song will always hold a super special place in my heart. It’s one of my moms favorites, and it’s precious to her and it’s grown on me. I hope one day I can sing it to her and make her smile
He played this song while I slept in his car (aka closing my eyes to see what he does) he ended up putting his jacket on me as a blanket. Then played this song and sang along to it, the feeling I felt in that moment was something I’ll forever remember ❤️
My ex sent this to me today and thanked me for saving him from his addiction. We've been through a lot..too much for me to get over.. but it sure gets me in my feelings
Stapleton nails this song! Originally written and recorded by David Allen Coe, it was also previously covered by George Jones; but Chris gives it the "bluesy" feel it truly deserves.
Tears roll down my cheeks whenever I hear this favorite song of my dear one I have loved so dearly. He just passed away 2 months ago and I cried a lot hearing this song bringing sweet treasured memories. We sweetly danced together with this song
My sincere thanks to all of you who showed concern on how I feel. I thank God for all the people giving sympathy on my sorrow, somehow makes me feel better to move on. God bless you all.🙏😇🌷
I wondered why my wife loved this song and always wanted me to hear it. Now I know, she helped me through my alcoholism addiction and she said she thinks of me every time she hears this.😭😭😭
Danced to this song yesterday with my boyfriend my love, the one and the only one in my life, I love the way he kept saying “you are so beautiful baby” and the way he looked into my eyes I love you Victor ❤️💋
I used to hate this song because my mom would play this all the time in the car. After a few years and giving this another listen, it's actually a pretty good. I don't know why I didn't like this when I was younger.

Met the love of my life and married her, unfortunately I had a drinking problem that I kept hidden until financial difficulties brought it to the surface and I went from being a functional alcoholic to non-functional. When I realised I was losing the love of my life I stopped drinking, and she took me back. However, 6 months later I fell off the wagon again. This time was too much for her, I never drank again after that. I quit drinking but at the expense of the love of my life. This song makes me think of her and makes me sad to think what I lost. Makes me think of my special friend (JB), even though I've only ever seen him drink vodka... I love him & miss him... Haven't seen him in person for nearly 4 years, but he called about 5 months ago... (and he can't stand country music, so he'll probably never even hear this song or see these words...) 💙🧡💙🧡🤗🤗🎶🎶
I was at my military ball and this song came on and this guy asked to me dance with him. That was such a special moment and me and him have been dating since. ☺️
I love this song so much he just gives it that soul that its been needing. Another excellent version ive heard was done by georgia flood and omg it rivals Chris's version but i still find myself here listening to this at full blast

Superbe chant j'aime beaucoup même si j'arrive pas à traduire. Amitiés.Jean-Pierre.
Today has marked a year of having my first dance with a guy I had known since elementary with this song. Best moment of my life ❤
No se que dice esta cancion pero me encanta..
I will always be there for you. No, where he is, You will always be on his Mind. That's How Strong IS UR LOVE
Chandler Jones song about Bill belichick brought me here
This Song make me want to be in Arizona next to the Lake getting a nice Buzz 🤙🏼🇺🇸💪🏽
The music sounds like a Etta James song don't it?
I was at my military ball and this song came on and this guy asked to me dance with him. That was such a special moment and me and him have been dating since. ☺️
Cant lie, noone else hear etta james song i would rather go blind?
I love this song so much he just gives it that soul that its been needing. Another excellent version ive heard was done by georgia flood and omg it rivals Chris's version but i still find myself here listening to this at full blast
Sounds like another tune. I’d Rather Go Blind possibly? ETA JAMES!
I keep this song on repeat
Same!
Me too 😊
Inspired by Etta James. It's really good.
No credit for 1966 Bob Montgomery , Etta James sings Misty Blue closer than I would rather go blind
Love ❤ your lyrics and the tone of your vocals to message

This is a complete rip off of Etta James’ I’d Rather Go Blind.
Then don't listen
