Apparently the algo doesn’t agree with referring to other comments, so here goes a copy and paste attempt (edited for 3rd person address): Re. JKR effect: AA’s levels of woo might be showing on recent developments. Beanie reporter quitting, and Asmongold apologising, seem like precursors to a post Trump 2.0 era. On AA’s recent Beanie reporter video I commented on coincidence of Asmongold apology of previous week, and he was written off in replies as a flakey Twitch grifter, that he may be. However, I have been following exploits of said Twitch grifter over the last year, due to professional interests of mine in education with the gen Alpha cohort. I think that observing some of these “outer circle progressives” can function as something of a bellwether on political trends, in the same way as you mention the common parlance of gen Alpha is changing, and Asmongold makes a particularly relevant example of this in his considerable influence with the younger generation being into the millions of viewers before his recent Twitch suspension. Point of woo coincidence: I was trawling the comments section of a Hasan video about Asmongold’s cancellation, and, in a reply comment from a subscriber of that channel, for the first time heard Asmongold referred to as “Liberal Right”. An important definition perhaps, and I belief one significant in explaining the imminent success of Trump. The biography of Asmongold is also not insignificant, when you take into account his commonly known Catholic upbringing and the often showcased traditional views of his father, with whom he shares a good supportive relationship and common respect, despite the degenerate lifestyle and nihilistic worldview; perhaps because of the latter. Personally, I have been using Asmongold as a bellwether for what I may be able to get away with in an educational setting vis a vis traditional values and in response to progressive Current Year customs.

Global homogenization debases the world. They want people to be the same and cities all look the same. They claim humanity is a "family" but who gets to be the elder of that family? Very thought provoking. I had a conversation with a Progressive today. He described his adherence to the progressing of humanity by an 'awakening' that would lead to a better future. He stated that a growing few were the only ones who 'really got it' I asked him if he could think of any contemporary progressive policies that might be condemned by future generations as immoral. He could think of none, not unfettered abortion, the individualism obsession, nor the transing of children. He seemed to have no ability to reflect upon or analyze any of his beliefs. Your observations might be accurate.
Very thought provoking comment. I think it boils down to the fact that no social/political movement stands still - they all have a force and a direction. It doesn't stop once it gets to an agreeable equilibrium - it continues. Progressiveness is a direct offshoot of secularism, whose aim is to knock out religion, but in doing so, perhaps by design or as a consequence, weaken the family unit. All changes are positioned as "compassion", like assisted dying. Progressives are peppered all over the forces that have engaged in wars that have killed millions in recent decades, are support unfettered abortion, are pushing for assisted dying, and generally want fewer people around. It is starting to resemble a death cult.
Mussolini was a progressive. You should have asked them about that. "A nation, as expressed in the State, is a living, ethical entity only in so far as it is progressive. " from _The Doctrine of Fascism_
I genuinely do not understand why some conservatives say progressivism has "an individualism obsession" when pretty much every one of their policies is about boxing people in groups of the aggrieved/voting blocks to swing around like a cudgel. These are some of the most anti individual people on the planet demanding "solidarity" and "social justice" for their warped view of a common good. Hardly individualism by any definition.
Progressives view time as linear, always describe their aspirations as “forward.” By contrast the cyclic view of time can be found in most traditional schools of thought. Please consider the imagery of the wheel - the turning of fate, samsara, the yoga cycle of ages. Traditionalists can appreciate the wheel in a couple of ways. First of all they can understand that we are in a degenerative age, a fall from grace - and thus look to past traditions for sound ways of doing things. Secondly, they can look for what transcends the turning of this wheel - the axis. The unmoved mover, the axis mundi… that which is eternally and always true. Progressives hate both because they are wholly immersed in material time and do not understand the unmoved transcendent.
Very well put. Traditionalists order human life about the immutable axis of the Eternal...the progressive is swept blindly into the downward-flowing currents of temporal 'becoming', the 'lower waters' of Samsara.

I remember one time my professor said “people always talk about progress. We’re making progress in society, we’re progressing as a society. Nobody ever asks what we’re progressing *towards*.”
“We all want progress. But progress means getting nearer to the place where you want to be. And if you have taken a wrong turning then to go forward does not get you any nearer. If you are on the wrong road progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road and in that case the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive man. There is nothing progressive about being pig-headed and refusing to admit a mistake. And I think if you look at the present state of the world it's pretty plain that humanity has been making some big mistake. We're on the wrong road. And if that is so we must go back. It's not insanity, it's Malice. The reason they call it "progressivism" is because they believe they know the future. It's a Cult that believes that the Escathon will happen, and because they "know" that, they know they will triumph, they are "on the right side of history" as they say. How would you know what "the right side of history" is when you are living trough it? You would need to be able to see the future. Anyway. They also believe that human activity ("social actions") can affect the timetable of the Escathon. This is rooted in the hegelian dialect of the actors of history. So in this belief there are two types of human: -Enlightened Awaken saints who are always right and just and their every word and action is justified. Why? Because they push history "forward". That is, they "do the work" to accelerate the Escathon. They make the already pre-determined History "progress". -The second type are stupid, evil, ignorant bigots who don't understand the grandiose genius of the Cult's doctrine and go against "the march of history" in an attempt to preserve the status quo, delaying the escathon. These devils in human form are to be punished, persecuted and vilified. @@Red-ej6he Wrong. The definition of "Progress" that you use, that is, to improve things, is not the same they use, which is "Progress towards the End of History". By the way, the "End of History" (in which true communism is achieved btw) is also the end of the State and of humanity itself. The problem with the melting pot is that it didn't melt. It's less like a melting pot and more like a stir fry, the ingredients not congealing into the broth but rather retaining their original identity. And it's not even a good, complementary stir fry. It's a conflicting, terrible, haphazard combination that is an affront to the senses. While I prefer homogeneity since it's far more pragmatic, in a hopelessly heterogenous society like the United States, I fear the only practical solution is for all the ingredients in the broth to actually melt into and yield to the strongest flavor - the white flavor. Of course, the dark parts of the broth refuse to do this, since to imitate that which is superior is anathema to them. But if the US is to be a harmonious stew, all must follow the best and strongest flavor. Otherwise, they ought to be removed from the recipe.

An old professor of mine used to defend this idea of "the way out is through". The manner through which human thinking can return to its normal mode, outside the many rationalizations and fictions of modernity, is to weaponize modernity against itself: critique the criticism, be skeptical of skepticism...all those things will create a vacuum where implicit and fundamental modern beliefs exist, such vacuum may then be occupied by new beliefs which will be more similar to old traditional ones since they will come about from the real collective experiences of civilizations instead of the post-rationalizations of liberal power. He didn't defend this as the only way for humanity to reach a more intelligent "post-modernity", but for him it was the easiest way. I believe that the traditionalism of which Dr Turley speaks of frequently is the consequence of modernity turning against itself.
yep, just trying to "go back" is always goes to result in a caricature of the past, never the real thing. Because the people in the past weren't doing that, they were just normal, not rationally constructing what they thought would be a good society.
You can also progress right off a cliff. The progressives of old purposefully chose the word progress because it's easy to make it seem like an inherently good thing.
The left loves to use language that only puts their side as being positive by default. It's why they call anything they want (at the expense someone else) a "right".
The term comes from their belief structure. They believe the Escathon, that is, the End of the World when God descends from heaven to bring paradise, will happen. Of course, they believe a twisted f-ed up version of it. They believe that human action can affect the time table. So, trough human action, they will implement socialism, until the point where their god, which isn't the abrahamanic god, but rather Humanity "perfected" (that is, fused into a godlike collective being) brings Utopia to earth, thus "real" Communism is achieved. So they believe History is more or less pre-determined and will result in their ultimate victory. That's why they say they are "on the right side of History" (which you can't know unless you know the future). And they adhere to the Hegelian Dialectic. The take on History by Hegel was that humanity was divided into two camps, the "actors of history". There are those who are Enlightened, Awaken, Saints who are always just and correct, and their every word and action is justified. Why? Because they push history "forward", that is, they act in order to accelerate the Escathon. Because they make history "progress", they are Progressives. Opposite to them are ignorant, stupid, bigoted, reactionary, evil devils who oppose the true god and his most holy servants, and thus must be persecuted, punished and vilified. Why? Because they don't adhere, in part or in full, to the Cult's doctrine and directives. These are the Conservatives. Of course, they are not open about this redefining of terms. They just move about like the change never happened, because they seek to erase the past in order to make room for the utopian future, so acknowledging the change means acknowledging there was something before. Their entire vocabulary is like that. The progressives use your same language, but a different dictionary.

Here in the U.S., I've become fond of telling my left-leaning Democrat friends that being a conservative/Republican is like being a Democrat, only 10 steps ahead. Almost every single issue that conservatives brought up months or years ago that got them labeled as "conspiracy theorists" is just now becoming something that liberals are finally willing to admit was true. Conservatives had the good sense to call it out when it was relevant and the evidence was staring them in the face, and it seems almost entirely because conservatives blew the whistle first that liberals' first reaction was to deny it. Not to analyze the validity. Not to examine the facts. Just a blanket "Well if conservatives say it's true, I'm going to spend the next X months or Y years refusing to acknowledge it's true until there finally arises enough incontrovertible evidence that is too hard to deny for me to change my mind". We could be making so many smarter decisions if liberals would stop living in their make-believe land where every problem has a black and white solution where both the choices and outcomes are regarded as wholly good or wholly bad, and if they could just see some of the gray scale where their "good intentions" can end up having unintended "bad outcomes".
Regarding why schools were integrated at gunpoint: I don't think you can find the answer to that without going into the specific religious and cultural characteristics of the group who was overwhelmingly behind it. feminism went wrong when instead of women can work and vote too, it started to go "men are evil, woman is worth as much as a man when she is working and that if woman stays home to care after children then she must be brainwashed idiot"
It’s very simple in my opinion. America ever since 1991 has been the strongest global power in the world. Women in it, are finding every opportunity they can find to accomplish themselves in such a historically successful country. The problem is women as well as men can find competition in very immoral and dishonorable ways. Through a man’s perspective the way women talk about men like their personal ATM make you think; Why wouldn’t you be scared of dating a Modern American Woman! She is looking for every opportunity to thrive and shine because that’s what she see’s as her example; Successful people flaunting their winnings! Especially today there are many successful women who are paving the way to create bigger platforms for female success. The issue is that takes a lot of struggle and sacrifice, something the average American would-be princess, would find rather terribly difficult. Women are more often forced to choose to be manipulative, because men like to be tended and cared for. The women doesn’t see too much opportunity in the job market, so she sees the opportunity in the men. Hence why they call prostitution the oldest profession. It’s a harsh reality that no woman would want thrown in their face, because historically, women have been given little recognition or acknowledgement for their efforts. We’ve come to a point in society where women and men can succeed in very similar ways. But the cold hard truth is that women have looked at careers and objects as assets to them while men typically looks at their property and Career as a quality for their character. Something retainable instead of something disposable. Women don’t look at the clock their wasting while they put all their time on things they’ll regret in the grand scheme of things, hence why you see so many old women on TikTok with great careers and miserable lonely lives! Hearts go out to the women who chose against their nature. “To Nurture” - Women’s Calling since Eve.

The big reason the Millennials fell away from conservative ideology and traditional ways of life is because their parents, the Boomers, didn't practice what they preached. We now have the monumental task of undoing the damage done not only by Boomers, but also the misguided Millennials who damaged the Zoomers and Gen Alpha. We've got at least 10 years of deprograming and rebuilding ahead of us. And if enough of us who currently have kids are NOT living up to the ideals we preach, then this whole thing is going to happen all over again in another 30 years.
"We've got at least 10 years of deprograming and rebuilding ahead of us" No. Your problem is revealed by your word choices: "we" and "us". That is group think, herd or hive. There is no We. You choose for you and I choose for me. Millenials did not usually deliberately turn away from conservative ideology (never mind what exactly that is), *cellphones and social media happened* and suddenly you get social from your iPad or cellphone, not from church or school. Boomers generally did not embrace social media. That's about as simple as it gets. Nothing sinister.
"You have to know what can go right, before you can know what can go wrong”. FA Hayek. Always found this interesting, because it’s based on the idea that if we already know what works, it would be progress to return to it. There are a million ways to do something wrong, but only one way to do it right. Trying to make progress through arbitrary decisions will surely lead to bad outcomes, and could be compared to throwing darts at a dartboard that’s located light years away. 1 mm to the left or right will take you millions of miles off course at the end. This is also the same ideal of getting to Heaven for Christians; “The path to life/heaven is narrow, but the way to hell is wide”.
I’m convinced that democratic legitimacy is the issue. See, because we vote and the vote gives the government legitimacy, the progressive cannot implement his agendas without first convincing the populace to agree with him. The rise of an alternative theory of history means that they no longer have a monopoly on the minds of people.
And they don't need you to vote; they don't need anyone to vote. They just need you to *think* others are voting and that the results you see are the results of *someone, somewhere* voting. So long as a majority believe voting matters, they will have legitimacy. The moment 51% of people begin to question the narrative of voting is the moment their veil starts to rip.
One of the major factors I would add to the rise of traditionalism is the ever quickening pace of the computer revolution and the economic fallout for the working class as a result
I think a caveat would be that the majority of progressive assumptions are normative and unchallenged - with the liberal utopist left previously in absolute ascendancy, most westerners grew up innured in this radical progressive malaise of assumptions, traditions, and friend/enemy distinctions. Most of these people, I would imagine, would abandon those axiomatic progressive assumptions (freedom as an ends not a means, the unmoored equality of man, the state of nature - rational devils, etc) when presented significant challenge from a reasonable cultural force. Carl Benjamin recently went to Timcast, and essentially persuaded many of the presenters that the classical liberal axioms were wrong - and I honestly think that the majority of people who we would now consider to be 'on the right' (the Ben Shapiros, Chris Rufos, maybe even Joe Rogans), by virtue of having shown that they can challenge their own assumptions, and are simultaneously willing to stand on principle, would be able to slough liberalism once the cultural capital of the real right is significant enough to present a legitimate challenge - that is, that they have general, consistent contact with people who demonstrate themselves to be both eminently reasonable, and illiberal (in the aforementioned sense). That being said, there will probably be some grifters who claim the right has 'gone too far,' judging by the 90s progressive paradigm - see the Piers Morgans, Konstantin Kisins, James Lindsays. A better litmus test is probably whether they have demonstrated that they can be convinced by alternative evidence, rather than how 'right' their rhetoric is. But yeah, ultimately I think liberalism as an acceptable ideology in the mainstream requires overwhelming consensus, and the moment we on the right breach it, we'll take most of the classical liberals with us. Happy to be proven wrong on this though (well, not happy obviously - but open minded :))

Control the food supply, control the land, control the guns, control the medicine, control the money including gold, and that's how you make people completely reliant on corporations and the government. It’s a false dichotomy. A lot of progressivism isn’t actually progress, it’s just change. “Progress” implies positive change. You can have tradition, and still have progress, still have positive change. Progress doesn’t mean you have to destroy tradition. Tradition is rooted in history, and destruction of history often has a negative impact on change.

You make some very good valid points, however, I do have to challenge a bit how you are using the word progressive. Not that your definition is wrong, but more like what they actually mean vs. how we interpret the word itself. If there's one thing the left is very good at, it is redefining language. What they are actually referring to when they use the word "progressive" is dialectical materialism, which is in short is like a social Darwinism of sorts = "progress through struggle." It's all about the oppressor vs. oppressed dynamic. They believe that by pitting these groups against each other, they will progress towards a utopia. And how they determine this is based on Antinomianism. What most people do not know is that leftist ideology is based in religion, specifically the occult. Which is also where the dichotomy of left and right originate. In short, it is an inversion of reality. Once you understand what Antinomianism and Dialectical Materialism are, you understand the true nature of the left, and why they have constantly reused certain buzzwords, like "struggle", "disruption" and even why they call themselves "progressives."
@@alexanderjaruk In short, Antinomianism is an inversion of objective morality, and actually makes a moral argument for immorality. Say for instance someone steals from a store. Objective morality would say the person took something from the shop that didn't belong to him, therefore he is a thief, and must be punished. Antinomianism instead would say, "that's okay", make up a lame excuse for the theft; and would claim the only immoral action was the shopkeeper who tried to stop the thief. Or say a guy cheats on his wife, and the wife finds out and wants a divorce. Objective morality would side with the wife, and condemn the cheating husband. Antinomianism would condemn the wife for condemning her cheating husband.
@ZetaReticuli_ So, if the thief steals a loaf of bread to give it to a starving orphan, that, by your construction of Antinomianism is a valid example of the phenomena...?
@@alexanderjaruk It's still an evil. Because the shopkeeper is being victimized, and it is not the shopkeeper's fault the person is starving. Regardless of the reasons you steal, you are not just stealing the item, but there is cost of the item, and the time and labor to raise the funds to obtain the item, and then have to replace it. So you are also stealing someone's time and the fruits of their labor, neither of which can be replaced. You might also want to look up "The Broken Window Fallacy" which also explains how replacement costs are bad overall for the economy. If you and your family are starving and can't afford food, there are food banks, and places you can get free meals. Most will have you do a very small chore. Literally like 10 minutes worth of work like sweeping a corner or washing a couple of dishes. Or, you could ask the shopkeeper if there is some small thing you can do in exchange for the bread. Choosing to steal is immoral, period.

Re.

By contrast the cyclic view of time can be found in most traditional schools of thought.

So in this belief there are two types of human:
-Enlightened Awaken saints who are always right and just and their every word and action is justified.
The problem with the melting pot is people stopped paying attention to the end product, and just started adding things Willy nilly.
The "melting pot" was and is a *lie* - it was never the original intention.

What is progressive about anything they do? Progressing to the bottom, end of mankind? Because that makes sense, not a lot else.
You can also progress right off a cliff. The progressives of old purposefully chose the word progress because it's easy to make it seem like an inherently good thing.
Funny how progressives are sooooo obsessed with the past and not the future.

We could be making so many smarter decisions if liberals would stop living in their make-believe land where every problem has a black and white solution where both the choices and outcomes are regarded as wholly good or wholly bad, and if they could just see some of the gray scale where their "good intentions" can end up having unintended "bad outcomes".

feminism went wrong when instead of women can work and vote too, it started to go "men are evil, woman is worth as much as a man when she is working and that if woman stays home to care after children then she must be brainwashed idiot"

We still use gay as insult here in southeast Asia (spoken in our dialect of course). It is only in the west where it is accepted as normal. That's why we ask what's wrong with western people? They have become morally soft and pushovers. They accept the bad as good, the good as bad. Totally nuts 😄
The internet changed Millenials.

No.

@alexanderjaruk well this one is good. Well as an outsider "being Syrian" when I look and hear the so called progressive let's say democrats they sound snobbish, and since the essence of democracy is based on the vote of the majority who are simple people they want to live a decent live so what they heard didn't touch them obviously. People seem to be able to be offended with ANYTHING. There was this girl with CP who literally was upset because her stuff she used for painting was called paint retardant. Basically, because she was bullied in school and it was triggering for her because of the word retardant. I’m disabled, and kids used to taunt me with that word, but I think it’s ridiculous the girl expected them to change the name of the stuff because it had the word retardant in. Life can suck, but it’s up to you if you’re gonna play the victim or say screw it, I do not give a crap what others think.
However, you CAN'T say that second one in this society: they will MAKE you care what they think of you.
Actually it is about control and profit. Liberal social values are the best way to control the masses of people and get the most profit. Traditional culture is not good for business. When people own their own land and grow natural food like people did for thousands of years.... that's not good for corporate profits.... Control the food supply, control the land, control the guns, control the medicine, control the money including gold, and that's how you make people completely reliant on corporations and the government. People wearing traditional clothing like in Bhutan.... not good for business..... People growing their own food and owning land..... not good for business..... People not wearing makeup or following modern fashion trends, no good for business.... People with silver and gold and cash money and not using credit cards and racking up debt..... not good for business...... using traditional herbal medicine and buying medicine in countries where people can freely choose what to buy and don't need to be controlled..... not good for business....

It’s a false dichotomy. A lot of progressivism isn’t actually progress, it’s just change. “Progress” implies positive change. You can have tradition, and still have progress, still have positive change. Progress doesn’t mean you have to destroy tradition.
And you never defined "Antinomianism" the way you did dialectical martialism so I have no idea what you are talking about...

13:50 Lindsay and others think that the 1990s or, depending on their age, maybe the 1980s were the summit of Western civilization because they liked the freedom from most traditional bounds like trad morals or religion, and of course also the material wealth. Then suddenly "we" took a wrong turn and now we are in the woke mess. They utterly fail to see the whole dialectics of enlightenment despite claiming to have studied e.g the Frankfurt school who described this (albeit from a marxist position) precisely in the 1940s. So in brief, they fail to see why and how the beloved 1990s or the whole postwar West or even the whole West of the last 400 years had the cultural dynamics it actually had.
Exactly! The word enlightenment is an oxymoron. It was a step from the true path which lead our civilization astray.
