I think her ending, although unfinished, made perfect sense. Often times people in positions of power never get punished for their evil actions. Ms. Censordoll getting away with everything is, sadly, very realistic.
But that's the point, Does it no need to punish her but she is all alone no friends no family she can control people all she wants but it will never fill that hole it does not matter how much power she gets she will be a sad lonely woman with no one but her self
You can argue that she's already punished. If yoy notice she's not really happy. She hates everything around her. She has an obsession for eggs because she will never be able to experience child birth. Which is something this town is obsessed with. Overall she is kinda a poison and left as that.
I think the reason she's able to uncover people's trauma so easily is because she's the town librarian. She handles everyone in Moralton's death records and obituaries. It'd be easy for her to look up a person's family history and piece together how to manipulate them.
Now I think about it, Censordoll has had interactions with Orel, Clay AND Bloberta, almost the whole Puppington family. In all their interactions, she's taken advantage of their weaknesses. Clay's Oedipal complex, Bloberta's need to be useful and Orel's naiveté
Seeing what Orel became as an adult, there is a chance that Ms. Censordoll fail to control Orel. Chances are that Orel is starting to think for himself and chances are that he might saw through Ms. Censordoll like he did with Clay.
It's funny that you mentioned nebuchadnezzar's furnace because I always envisioned Censordoll's meeting her end in such a manner. See, in Moralton, power comes in many forms, one of which lies behind the church's pulpit. A fact she knows all too well. For why else would she abandon her ambitions to be "mayor-triarch" if not to pursue a higher position in the town's hiarchy? The deal she struck with Clay was simply a means to that end. The episode Alone, where she claims to be far more suited than the reverend to teach others on the subject of Original Sin, illustrates her overall endgoal in greater detail. So, anyway, getting sort of back on topic, in the series finale, or how I imagine it, she would use her influence over the mayor to have Putty "removed" from office and have her take his place. Eventually, this comes back to bite her in the worst way possible. Whether by accident or some divine circumstance, she somehow sets the church and herself ablaze, taking the lives of several people in the process. Years later, she would be remembered in local folk lore as some kind of Baba Yaga figure, often blamed for the town's past misfortune. On a semi related note, Orel remembers what he forgot in Innocence, that church is inside all of us, and acts like a substitute reverend to the survivors until thing's go back to realative normalacy.
Not gonna lie, Mrs. Censordoll is my favorite antagonist in the entire show. She may be a overarching person, but she’s so fascinating in any other way. By the way, I’m absolutely in love with that intro in your video Trevor. Keep up the good work that you always do.
7:40 Unfortunately its not just a vocal minority anymore, the voices are getting louder and the most loudest are the ones in charge spitting venom and calling for the heads of secular people.
It's actually a shame we never got to see her fully take affect on the town. But like most Evangelicals, Censordoll uses parts of the Bible she likes to manipulate the town to act out her desires and ignores the parts that go against her own beliefs (if she has amy at all.) But her manipulation of Clay was her piece de resistance in Moral Oral. I know you want to distance yourself from Moral Oral, but when you return to it I'd like to see a character quest on Joe and/or Nurse Bendy. Or I'll wait and see IF I win the raffle again and request it from Patreon.
that´s why i love the episode that because of censordoll bad aadvices, orel convice the twon too forbideen eggs, that was censordoll´s favorite food and she took her own medicine.
But just WHY did they remove her ovaries? Was there something wrong with them, and it was a risk to her health? Or was this one of those messed up practices they did in the back of the day like lobotomies? I wish they gave us more information, given what a defining moment it was in this characters life.
Like I think the reason why Mrs Censordoll it's a it's because she can't produce or give birth to any children of her own you know suggesting how she puts the egg in the middle of her stomach in the episode that got it declined
While unrelated to Moral Orel, i got a question. Will you make a Vs the Network episode about the many Disney Channel shows that were mistreated and screwed over by Disney?
I've been WAITING for you to talk about Ms. Censordoll! This is gonna be goooood! Edit after viewing: I was so right to look forward to this! This was an AMAZING look at how evil this monster of a woman is, even as a non-Christian viewer, I could always feel some kind of hate just radiating off of her, that felt different from anyone else in the show. The minute you made the parallel to the Westboro Baptist Church, I was like "oh my god THAT'S the hate!" She is the epitome of a false Christian, spewing so-called 'ideals' from one corner from her mouth while reserving any sort of judgement on herself because she is "above" judgement in her eyes, even from The Lord Himself.
I have noticed that most of the things Censordoll protests often are those things that families do together. I believe she pickets the movie theater often because families in Moralton use it a quality time, which she has never gotten to experience since her condition condemned her to a life of being a spincer.
You raise a good point. Isn't this what far right groups do all the time in the real world? From DND to video games to gay pride to educational institutions, anything that gets likeminded diverse people together and thinking hard together is a threat, that must be vanquished
You know, the one thing with the Westboro Baptists I've never understood is their strange hatred of soldiers. Does anyone know what the source of that attitude is?
They think that soldiers should be shamed for serving their country because it’s a free country that allows for gay people to basically exist…even though those same soldiers died for them, and the Bible condemns hate, slander murder. Now, it’s okay if someone disagrees with a certain lifestyle. But it’s not an excuse to: 1: hate others. 2: shame soldiers who died for their country, especially at their FUNERALS, nonetheless. 3: shame others for being tolerant (they unfortunately protested Mr. Rogers of all people. Yes, you read that correctly. And 4: say that God hates people. Because that’s literally inaccurate.
I really wish that Moral Orel would continue as intended, especially for seeing how Moralton would be like under the oppressive regime of Ms. Censordoll. But unfortunately, Adult Swim decided to be such a massive coward instead if allowing Moral Orel to continue on.
I feel like the end to her arc would be her, in her infinite hate, banishing Orel from the town. Everyone else in town loves the kid. Yeah he's not perfect and causes problems, but he's one of the only good people in town. The townsfolk would finally put their foot down.
i think that sky won because they made boxes longer then itv because itv is a broadcasting tv thing sky was always knowing for making the tv boxes for satlight tv and compony knowed what sky was so they stayed with them then itv they are new to tv boxes and saw how bad it was so they did not risk it and decided to use sky aka to ur 2st vid
Arguably, he is. I am fully aware she is an extremist in favor of censorship and was canonically going to be a voodoo user in the canceled scripts. However, note that she seems to be incredibly mentally ill because she had her female reproductive organs as a BABY. It’s the reason why she’s aged too quickly, and it can be interpreted as a variety of horrible things, such as her mother being like Carrie’s mother, being an extremist who thinks any kind of sex or reproduction is sinful, or she could’ve been an antinatalist, or France could’ve been intersex and was mutilated for the sake of “normalcy”. Either one you believe, it’s awful and it’s unfortunate that it turned her to extremism and probably even witchcraft for the sake of control. It doesn’t excuse her actions, but they’re arguably less devastating than what Cecil did. He no doubt RAPED literal children, and in the famous deleted episode, “Abstinence”, he rapes women and only stops trying to rape Agnes when she’s asleep and NOT SCARED OF HIM. And as stated in “Alone”, he’s raped dozens of women, who were all victimblamed. The books Francis burned can be replaced. The innocence of a child and the feeling of security can NOT.
I would say that the Westboro Baptist Church are "real" Christians, real in the sense that they believe in every part of the Bible without interpretation and, in turn, end up being absolutely horrible people. The problem isn't that they aren't following the Bible right, it's that they're following the Bible *exactly* right, and the good Christians are those who either don't believe in every horrible thing in the bible, or interpret the teachings of the Bible to fit with the more caring and loving sensibilities of the modern day.
It's actually a bit more complicated. The Old Testament is meant to be seen from a historical perspective. You can learn from it, but it's shown later in the Bible that you're meant to follow the New Testament's teachings. WBC claim they are following it 'exactly' right, but they're not. They and Ms. Censordoll are basically the 'Fundamentalist' trope, 'Christians' claiming to follow the word strictly, but their own issues and bigotry essentially pervert their view of it. (Though, I totally can see Ms. Censordoll being a total faker.)
@@Texasp12 Literally everything. There's plenty of homophobic, sexist, and xenophobic stuff in the Bible that people have been using to justify their own horrible actions for 2,000 years. It's no coincidence that in the modern day, when people are less inclined to believe everything in religious text, that, in at least first world countries, people don't act the same way people did 200 or even 100 years ago. It's because less people believe in everything in the Bible, mostly due to the positive effects of the enlightenment era and its introduction of critical thinking and science.
Uh, no. If they were really Christian, they would obey the commands “love your neighbor as yourself”, “do not judge, lest you be judged”, “there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”, “if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.” But they don’t.
Took long enough. Didn't it?
It was worth the wait!
It’s okay, Trevor. Take your time. Plus, it’s worth the wait. We have been waiting patiently for this too.
