Even though I wasn't around to see VeggieTales Abridged, hearing in the video that you were able to give it the finale you've always wanted is very nice to hear. Usually, whenever there's a series that a creator wants nothing to do with anymore, either because they lost interest or because of drama (in this case, the drama was toxic fans), they never give it a proper ending.
I know I'm late but like that original video is one of if not my most rewatched video from your channel I never saw Veggietales Abridged nor do I ever wish to seek it but your video on it and the crazy lore surrounding it was so entertaining to me (no offense i know you suffered a lot through all of that and I am so sorry you had to) glad to see a commentary on the video about the defunct series
I’ve been getting so curious about what these videos were like that the only other alternative aside from your video and this commentary I’ll ever get is reading what little plot synopsis and summaries are available on the wikis. The few videos that interest me are Daniel and the Mailman Trap, The Toy that destroyed the Winter Solstice Festival, Willy Wonka and the 3 clever boys and Smell’s Like Viking because the premises of each of them sound like something I would laugh at (with the latter, I’m just really curious how you could make a plot around a silly deodorant while at the same time using footage from Larry Boy and The Fib From Outer Space). When I read them, they sound hilarious (unfortunately, Daniel and the Mailman Trap was the only one with a transcript alongside the summary and Smells Like Viking only got a plot synopsis, so I don’t know what actually happens in it but it sounds hilarious). I’m also very curious about the puppet master story since it sounds interesting and makes me wonder what happens in it and how the ending could be emotional (as well as just how the ending could possibly go). It’s also cool that you not only planned that from the beginning, but that you gave it the finale you wanted. Oh well, all I can do is speculate.
This commentary that discusses the behind the scenes of an 1.5 hour video is nicely done. I would be interested to see more commentaries in the future.
I know I’m not Media Mementos, but I just wanted to say: I honestly thought it was a cool Veggietales remake! It took a while to get used to it as its own thing, but once I did, I was astounded by what they did! I love the expansion of the worldbuilding! The factory feels like a factory! There’s a whole board of executives at Mr. Nezzer’s disposal, the culture of the city is so focused on the bunnies to the point Junior’s crib sheet is filled with them, everyone’s wearing 1930’s clothing, a storage room for the boxes of bunnies… they did not have to go that far! And I absolutely love the animation! It’s so smooth and subtle with the expressions! While I much prefer the music from the original, as well as the more expressive faces from the original as well, it was masterful for a fan made project!
I love how you act like world-famous celebrities when talking about VTA, completly burned out by all the incessant fans, like you've had Taylor Swift and PewDiePie levels of fame. Even tho according to the internet archive TAS channel only had like 100 subs or so in 2016. Just, always dress for the job you want
It had 1,000, but that doesn't matter. It's not about numbers, it's about percentage. Besides, the VTA series always attracted way more viewers than we've ever had subs on the channel. I know what I went through, and I'm standing by my experiences.
