Mark, try the print pattern feature within the colour settings tab. The software will then print lots of small thumbnails with different brightness and contrast settings. You can then print this and do a hard proof before printing full size as you can print this test at a smaller size. For my A3 prints I cut the paper in half so that I have 2 pieces of A4 for test prints. Then when I print my A3 print I know it will be right. Before doing this I wold sometimes have to print 2-3 A3 prints until I was happy
@@MarkKerton No worries, small bonus tip. The settings you select are saved, so you will need to reset the sliders for the next print of a different image.
The image you selected for printing is beautiful. I find that balancing woodland colours in prints, is challenging- especially the greens. Seems that you have a good eye for that. :-)
Thanks for watching. This was a bit trickier than most woodland scenes to edit! The contrast was very high and I had to de-saturate a little, whilst trying to keep some punch!
Good video and nice work Mark, I have some comments regarding this software, I have been using it for 2 years and it just keeps crashing after 1 print, I been on all the forums and Canon doesn't know the answer, to bad because it has all the paper options etc
Hello, you mentioned Automate...that works well with 300 pro. Whatis it and how do we find it on canons website? Please and thank you. Very good video by the way.
Hi thanks for watching. Here’s the link to the software…www.canon.co.uk/printers/inkjet/pixma/software/professional-print-layout-software/ Automate is in the photoshop drop down menu in “file”👍🏻 Let me know if you need more help👍🏻
@MarkKerton Thank you so much for replying... Oh OK. I do not have Photoshop. I'm totally new at this printing thing. So, I am trying to completely use professional print & layout without using any other editing software. At least as for now, until i grow and learn more. I do have the 300 pro printer. I have gotten great prints so far, but I am still struggling with sizing correctly. For some reason, I am not getting the correct size I want. If you can help with this, that would be great.
I did add a previous comment about problems downloading Canon pro print layout within photoshop . I have now found a way to make it work !!!!!!!!! . When I say I , the issue was solved by following the guide on RUclips :- Canon Print Studio Pro Plug In Problem Solved . It may just be me being quite old and ............ ! But I've done it now .
For some reason Canon's Pro Print & Layout Software will not allow grayscale or CMYK to open (only RGB) ? Another bizarre thing is the fact that when you drop the possible format tab PDF is not in the list therefore you can open these either? What do you think the problems are?
Your video is spot one with what you say in the first 2 minutes. This is EXACTLY what I have struggled with. Unfortunately, I have a Canon ip8720 that does NOT support the Professional Print and Layout Software. I have searched the internet and this printer has no good print software. I use Lightroom. It makes lovely prints with very inexpensive 3rd party ink. $17 for 6 ink cartridges, BUT i must make 7-10 text prints before getting a good print. YES, monitor is calibrated but does not help. I wish I would have known about this special print software then I MAY have bought a compatible printer.
Do you any problem when you haven’t sued the software for a while the software disappeared and I have to reinstall it to get it working I’m on a Mac 1 desktops
I have a problem whenever Apple does an update to the OS I have to delete the printer and run the software packages to get it to work again. I've gotten use to the issue and have the two SW packages in a folder ready to use when there is an OS update.
Hy Mark. I always select the alignement to “centered” and set the precise width by typing it in the appropriate field in order to have regular margins…
Mark, this is a terrific video. I have the Pro300 and have been using this software, both freestanding and as a PS and LR plugin. Like it much better than the printing methods offered in PS and LR themselves. I have to say that I had never dared venturing beyond the General tab, but now that I’ve seen what you did in the Color tab, I’ll give that a go. Also, I just subscribed!
love the Knockvicar Wood
Knockvicar?
Cheers Mark, inspiring video again..makes me want to get and do some printing. Love the look of that fine art paper.
Thanks Martin. Best thing I’ve done, get back into printing
Just do it man!
Quality video again Mark
Thanks Darren, appreciate that👍🏻
@MarkKerton in the middle of watching your Air Defender 23, so far, very good.
Appreciate that Darren. Catch up on that chat👍🏻
Excellent tutorial, I share your enthusiasm 👌
Thanks Sue👍🏻
Nice photo!
Thanks Thomas, appreciate that👍🏻

Thanks for that Greg, I’ll give it a try👍🏻

Thank you for this. Is there a way to log in other Profile Paper than Canon Papers?
Yes. You need to have ICC profile for that paper.
Does this software auto update Windows / MacOS printer settings? If so that’s fab.
It’s separate printing software to the standard way of printing. You can save any setting made which is great.
You did not select the soft proofing box. Another person recommended always enable it. Any reason why you did not?
Fit is register fella we did it with spanners 👍👍
??
Hello. Perhaps you have a decision? How can I set immediate printing after the shot? Does Lightroom have an auto-print function? Or a different app?
Thanks for the video.... but I wonder about the "soft proofing" option.... you left it unchecked, but isn't it used to simulate how it will print?
I wondered the same thing.
Is there a version of this foe the iP8750? I can't get this to work on my Mac

Apologies for only just replying! Glad you got the problem sorted ok. I’m learning lots at the moment with printing but really enjoying it👍🏻
Hello Mark, is there a similar sottware available for the TM200

My experience with 3rd party ink was the same. Since I switched to Canon my test print are 3 max. So in the end using Canon ink might be cheaper.
Do you any problem when you haven’t sued the software for a while the software disappeared and I have to reinstall it to get it working I’m on a Mac 1 desktops
Apologies for the late reply!
I’ve not experienced this as yet no? Is your max quite full with images and files etc?

Is that a K&R Concept polariser?
Yep, K&F magnetic kit, love it👍🏻
The colors are oversaturated
Fake..
Each to there own in this art world but thanks for watching👍🏻
