Hey guys, fellow Canadian here. Just finished 4 months in Thailand, with 2 months in Samui. Maybe try to go to Koh Sok, the lake/reservoir just west of Surat. Also, if you are still in Samui, do a day or 2 in Koh Phangan....beautiful spot for a short trip
southern thai cuisine is considered as the most spiciest in all of thai cuisine. if you can handle this level of spiciness, you can eat every foods from others part of thailand, congratulations. 💯👍🇹🇭
We are realizing that as we eat more of it! It’s super spicy.. my stomach doesn’t do too well sometimes but chase is the champion. I Iike medium spice myself.😛🔥 Thank you!! 🙏🏼
I'm Thai and I want to say that lots of Thai food is the most spiciest food in the world and Thai people know that people in the southern Thai always eat spicy food (I mean It's SUPER spicy,I can't even eat it😅),you guys are so brave trying thai southern food,I love your video🙏🏼🙏🏼
It was a super cute place!! Chase is the pro when it comes to spice. I don’t even think he has a limit to how much at this point.. I’m more of a medium spice kinda gal.. 😂 we 10000% will eat when we get together next! 🥰🙏🏼
You two are so cool to finish all the dishes. As a Thai people, I can’t even eat southern spicy food that much. By the way the delicious thing in the last dish is young coconut shoot (sometime they use bamboo shoot instead). Really enjoyed your vlog❤️😊
We sure did. We cleaned them all up quite well and they weee amazing! 😛 that totally makes sense. I was later thinking it was bamboo or something like that! And aw thank you, we love hearing that. 🙏🏼😍🇹🇭
Being open to trying new things is such a great opportunity with travelling! 😍 That is so sweet of you to say, we have a new one coming out tomorrow we think you will enjoy ❤️
Of course! We are happy too. Thailand is amazing and the food is delicious!! 🥰 // แน่นอน! เราก็มีความสุขเช่นกัน ประเทศไทยเป็นที่น่าอัศจรรย์และอาหารก็อร่อย !! 🥰
Hi! Chase and Shelbs, your videos are absolutely AMAZING!!!! I’ve been binge watching all of your videos lately it’s like I’m addicted to your positively energy and I really love your traveling videos it’s made me feel like traveling with you guys!!!!😍. Moreover, your videos enhanced my English skills which I’m currently learning. The dark soup with the floating eggs is called “Pa Loh” it’s a Stewed pork and eggs with five spices (traditionally from Chinese culture) also the “Tom Kha Gai” recipe are vary by the chef but the main ingredients are exactly the same. The dry curry that you said in the video is “Khua kling” This dish is an absolute classic southern Thai food. It’s a ground pork (or beef) stir-fried with southern curry paste laced with turmeric and it’s very spicy tho. You guys are actually better at eating spicy dish than me!!! 😂😂 The dessert at the end of the video is called “Khanom Tuay” (Coconut milk custard),it’s a Thai traditional dessert and also my favorite. I love you guys are learning Thai culture and support the local restaurant. Have a nice trip and stay safe!!!❤️ P.S. Liked and subscribed!!!😘
AWWW! If that isn’t the most lovely comment ever!!! 🙏🏼That is exactly what we hope for is that you can feel like you are right along with us travelling and enjoying the local food!! 🤗 You’re english and writing is great so keep at it and thank you for sharing all of that! It’s so nice to be able to learn about what it is that we are eating and the names. 💕 Everything was VERY spicy.. but super tasty. 😂 And the Thai culture is just so amazing, the locals are awesome, the food is awesome.. we love to embrace it all! Thanks again for being so kind and stay safe as well Annie. 🥰🇹🇭
I was so surprised when everyone started telling us what all the food was. I guess my taste buds seem to be on point with a lot of the foods. Or maybe I’m just eating A-LOT is Thai food and getting used to the flavours. Either way I’m happy about it hehe! 😂🙏🏼
That sour yellow curry you had is called "gaeng som," which is commonly found all over southern Thailand. There are different varieties of it, but the most common (and in my opinion most delicious) is made with pieces of young coconut shoots. They are crunchy and a little sweet and are often confused for bamboo. You most likely had the coconut shoots and not bamboo (bamboo tends to have a much more distinct "woody" flavor). Just stumbled across your page and have been binging on your videos. Happily subscribed! Thanks for bringing so much joy to those of us who can't travel right now. We'll be finally returning to Thailand in July (Hat Yai), so we'll have to watch all your vids to tide us over until then! You both are adorable, and I love your dynamic together. And from a foodie's perspective, I really appreciate how open you are to trying new foods and dishes. That's what makes traveling so much fun, right? Keep up the great work! ❤️
Ohhh, That totally makes sense!! We need to try a bamboo shoot and a coconut shoot side by side so we can figure out which one it was.. 😂 Either way it was super delicious! To hear that you are loving our videos and binge watching them means the world to us! That really is to goal! To show you parts of Thailand through our eyes. From the food.. to the culture.. to the beautiful scenery 🤗🌴So excited for you guys to be back in Hat Yai soon enough (app they have the best fried chicken we have yet to try) 😍🙌🏼 It’s really amazing reading such genuine comments and being able to interact with such awesome people like yourself. We always try to be open to allllll the experiences that come our way and yes it 100% makes travelling way more fun. Thanks for absolutely making our day!! ❤️❤️
Thanks for watching! We appreciate you saying that. We always love to know who we have on here watching us. So glad you love them! That is music to ours ears 🥰
I love southern food and curries! My friend in the U. S. is from the Southern Thailand and sometimes he makes me fish stomach curry. It’s so delicious!
I admire y’all for driving and riding a motorcycle in Thailand. I’m Thai but live in the US. I do not have a courage to do that. You are really fun to watch. You’re willing to try foods that you’re not familiar with, awesome! I would suggest eating Nam prik with rice and veg. together so that it will not be too spicy. 😃😍
It’s a little scary sometimes! Only chase does (I won’t) it freaks me out haha! But it’s so cheap and other transportation isn’t.. so we don’t have much choice. Thank you, we will have to try that 😍
When I eat spicy southern food, I usually put paloh sauce on top (the one with eggs and pork) to make it less spicy and it is so much better. Love your video.
Great vid, that food looks amazing - During our stay on Samui this past winter, we didn't get to eat at this place, but we will once we return in December....it is less than 2km from the villa we are having built in Mae Nam!
Welcome I hope your enjoy. Southern Thai food something it spicy more and sweet more is signature here I follow your Chanel and I hope your comeback Thailand again. Today my holiday watching your.
The south food has been amazing. Sometimes a little spicy for me (shelby) but chase LOVES It. And give us all the desserts haha, coconut desserts are a favourite. Thanks for watching and we are so happy you enjoy our channel 🥰
The last dish is called Coconut shoot with chicken curry or Bamboo shoot with chicken curry depend on the ingredient used (normally bamboo shoot is easier to find). So those big 2 pieces could be coconut shoot or bamboo shoot.
Amazing Thai food so surprise you are can eat spicy foods i love Namprikkapii dipping with vegetables delicious food i miss Thailand. Thank you for sharing about Thailand enjoy in Thailand have a nice trip. see you next.
I don’t know that we have ever had namprikkapii before this but WOW it’s good! We are trying to build our tolerance to spicy foods haha we love it!! thanks for the wishes and kind words 🤗❤️
@@ChaseandShelbs I suport stay in tuch i'am thai leave in Japan Thank you. i missing Thai food I would love to recomend Kai Tod Had Yai with Sticky rice or Kaiyang with Sticky rice Somtom that very good for your tolerrance Amazing food cheers up.
Oh no! Hopefully we can give you a little sunshine through our videos 🌞 and we are glad you are enjoying them friend! :) Happy to have you along with us! 🥰
The dark pork with egg is not a curry. It is a very common dish in southeast Asia and is referred to as "Sweet Pork" in Hmong and Vietnamese cuisine. Very delicious.
Wow.. another impressive video from you guys! like other comments the southern authentic dishes are well known as the most spicy here in Thai, well done guys 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 and all veggies pick and bite it’s help to cool down the hotness, btw the last curry dish what in it probably a bamboo shoots I guess. Stay healthy and lively and be safe, can’t wait to see your new video, cheers!
That’s so kind!! Thank you! It was another different style video for us to do, sitting down at a restaurant trying spicy local food. We are learning how spicy southern Thai food really is haha! It’s totally bamboo! We figured that out back at home, either way super yummy! Thanks for watching 🥰❤️
@@ChaseandShelbs you’re welcome and right on! glad to see you back Shelbs! after see Chase all alone on KFC trial, don’t let him being alone please.. his looks seem to missing you a lot as well as all subscribers ha..ha
I won’t leave him again! We are a team and I’m here to stay. It was a trial and we like filming best together 😂he did look rather sad lol.. thanks for the love 🙏🏼❤️
The last sweet , we call it "kanom tuay" . "kanom" means sweets and "tuay" means cup or bowl. white salty coconut side is the top. originally , they steam and serve them in small bowl (short sauce cup) but present days , by convenience, they just do it all and put in a package. usually, hard to find or buy in specific dessert vendor, but you can find kanom tuay in rice-curry or boat noodles food shop. having something sweets after spicy foods feel very good.
Thank you so much!! It’s so nice to be able to learn about how the dessert is made and I’m so happy you let us know where to find it! I feel like I need it in my life. It’s delicious!! 😂🙌🏼
@@ChaseandShelbs There are 2 tastes of Kanom Tuay. Brown color at bottom half, it's coconut mixed with palm sugar taste. But if you notice that, there is green color at bottom half, It's coconut mixed with pandan leaf taste, which is my favorite. 💚
you see like a ginger it is" shoot" "baby bamboo".every region eat it. we call "nor mai" ,im recommend "moo wan and kai down kem" sweet pork and fried salty egg
Aw haha the last dish was pretty spicy for me but chase handled it like a pro! He likes extremely spicy food whereas I’m more of a medium spice kinda gal 😂
i like the way she try's things that she not sure of . for the viewers at home . it can be scary trying new foods . welcome done . chase is the funnist guy ever he just so happy all the time .
This was so sweet hehe thank you friend. We love trying new things and always try to be adventurous. Chase really is such a happy guy. You got that right!! 😂🙌🏼
Just came upon your vedio...Greetings from Orlando Florida...I just wanted to say I LOVE Shelbs attitude, the way you took a big bite of everything lol...that is how you really taste the food, not like some people I've seen on their video where they took a little bite of the food and be dramatic about it saying its really good and really they probably didn't taste anything, your are real and also love the way you are not afraid of tasting it. Both of you are great and make it very interesting and makes me hungry 😂🤤. Keep it coming, enjoy and be safe. Just subscribe looking forward to more of your adventures. Oh by the way thing you couldn't figure it out its actually fresh bamboo 😁😉
Hey Kelly! Hi to Florida from Thailand! ☺️🌴 This made me laugh because I was watching the video back wondering if i was attacking my food a little to much.. 😂 I like to pride myself on really getting the full flavours, experimenting with the rice, herbs, sauces etc. It’s the fun of it!! So I really appreciate that you said you love my attitude haha that’s so sweet!! 🤪🥰 I always say.. make sure to have some snacks on hand when you watch our videos because mostly likely there will always be food involved. 😂 Thanks for the info on the bamboo.. we later figured it out and had a “ah ha” moment lol. Stay safe as well and thanks again for your support! It means the world to us. ❤️🇹🇭
@@ChaseandShelbs You guys are real that's what I love about you guys and enjoy your video very much. Yeap that's right the best way to get the real taste and enjoy is to attack it😂 I know I do 😂. I am planning to go in November and yes I am planning to eat like a pig 😂 Love it! Keep up with the great work!
The "mushroom" in the tom kha gai is actually a piece of dried "tamarind" fruit. It adds a sour taste to the dish, but generally not meant to be eaten :)
Thank you!! We LOVE the kanomtuays!! I need more in my life 😂 thanks so much we had a great time eating and filming and trying new flavours 🥰 we appreciate for the support!! ❤️
Your first dish is Kai Phalo (Kai means egg and Phalo is the Chinese name for spice) or Chinese herbal egg. The second dish is Tom Kha Gai. The sour taste in Tom Kha Kai comes from Tamarind and lime sauce. The third dish, you guessed it right, it's Kua Kling. or stir-fried minced pork + southern curry paste. Dish 4. The vegetables in this dish that you thought were ginger or galangal at first. It's actually a bamboo shoot or top of coconut tree (Coconut shoot). As for the chili paste that comes with fresh vegetables, it's Nam Prik Kapi or shrimp paste sauce. made from Fresh chili, garlic, fish sauce, coconut sugar, lime, and the main ingredient is shrimp paste. And the vegetables you eat taste like beans, it's Winged Beans.😁😁🙏🙏
WOW! This is such amazing information. It’s so nice being able to learn about the dishes we are eating. Everything was absolutely delicious especially the kai phalo and kua kling. Very spicy as you could probably tell 😂 but we enjoyed it, thanks for sharing this with us! Glad we now know what the dishes are called and what they consist of! 🤗🙌🏼
@@ChaseandShelbs Here's a trick to help you cope with the spiciness. The spiciness is not the taste. but it's a feeling You may have heard that fresh milk can help reduce the spiciness, this is true. But what if you can't get fresh milk to drink? I have another method to suggest. 1. Don't drink cold water when it's spicy. Because the substance that makes it spicy, it likes cold. When you drink cold water, this spicy substance spreads even more through your mouth. And when you're spicy, you'll drink a lot of water, making you feel full quickly. 2. Fresh vegetables can help reduce the spiciness. And lastly, the best thing to reduce the spiciness . is hot soup or warm water From the information in No. 1. is the spicy like cold. therefore it is not suitable for heat If you are in a rice&curry restaurant like this I recommend eating spicy food first. When you start to get spicy, then you order a hot noodle, vagetable soup. or hot soup to eat It might be suffering because your mouth is spicy + hot soup. But as soon as you swallow hot soup or warm water, you'll lose the spiciness immediately.😁😁
So helpful!! I love this useful information as chase can usually handle ALL the spice but I sometimes struggle a little more. I say medium spice and it ends up being CRAZY HOT! But I will ask for some fresh veg or soup next time. Sometimes with pad kra pao we have noticed they bring out a little soup. Now I’m realizing it’s probably for the spice like you said ☺️ thanks again!
thank you! We enjoy eating curry and soup with rice like Thai people do. It adds a lot of flavor. We appreciate your advice and are happy you are watching ☺️ // ขอบคุณ!

Hi guys, I finally figured out why Shelby grew on me. It's your bubbly personality, that at first glanced, I thought you were putting on, but as I continued to watched, I came to the conclusion that you are (for) real😃, which is the Yin and Yang between you two, where Chase comes across as a bit nerdy, albeit a good looking one😁, this is not to say Shelby is less gorgeous, okay? Your two personalities complement each other's nicely 😉. Keep on being the real you, and keep your new discovery coming.
Aw! I can’t tell you how much this made us smile reading it. I think you pretty much nailed it right on the head! I’m the bubbly one whereas chase is exactly as you described. But we are both very much down to earth people. I’m glad you enjoy watching us both and we are super happy to have to on this little journey of ours. Thanks for the kind words, you made our day.☺️🥰
The secret recipe which make Khai-Pa-Loh (Soy sauce soup with egg) has more flavor and very delicious is "Cinnamon". (put only one piece for one pot is enough while boiling. Put more than one, make it not delicious because its flavor will cover all other tastes (recipes).
Maybe someone should teach how to eat Thai food in a single kind of Thai food😂 It’s good to see foreigner eating thai food in correctly way😉 You2 making it right way, unless eat it with Rice for all curry dish. Maybe make this content will be more wow
Yes that would be cool to learn!! Sometimes we don’t eat things right and we would love to understand more! We eat our curries with rice down so at least we are good on that 🤪🙌🏼
@@ChaseandShelbs hope you get more way to eat thai food more delicious and reduce spicy taste and enjoy the dish!😂 with mix& match by veggie and rice! to balance the strong spicy taste! Good luck😁

If you can eat Southern Thai curries..it meant that you got Thailand 🇹🇭 already. Also you can eat like Thai national people eating in any parts of Thailand. 🙏
That’s so awesome! We are flattered for this comment haha. We can handle quite a bit of spice and we love it so we can’t wait to travel to other parts and experience it as well 🥰❤️

It's delicious! Don't forget to have a snack when you watch our videos! 🤪❤️ // มันอร่อยมาก! อย่าลืมทานอาหารว่างเมื่อคุณดูวิดีโอของเรา! 🤪❤️
Please more about Koh Samui❤❤
I was thinking that was palm sugar :)’The pandan one was our favourite as well! Coconut + pandan goes together no nicely 🙏🏼
sweet thank you my friend and all your dear friends
💕
@@ChaseandShelbs ❤️❤️❤️
You guys are awesome tried very spicy Thai dishes.
you see like a ginger it is" shoot" "baby bamboo".every region eat it. we call "nor mai" ,im recommend "moo wan and kai down kem" sweet pork and fried salty egg
Ohhh sounds so delicious ❤️
You guys are incredible. I can't handle southern foods at all.

Us too, always! 😍// พวกเราด้วย เสมอ! 😍
Hhaha yesssss, you are my soul sister I love it! 😂You will have such a great time 🙌🏼 Thank you! 💕
The "mushroom" in the tom kha gai is actually a piece of dried "tamarind" fruit. It adds a sour taste to the dish, but generally not meant to be eaten :)
No way! We had no idea haha
Did u have" Staw" vegetable,Shelbs? Thai Southerners like it.
I like this content Real local Im feeling it when u eat South tahi food coz Im south thai people
Thank you 🤗 We love the southern food!
We live here and we have never heard of this place 😂 Will definitely give it a try!
Yesss you guys must try it out! It was a great little spot, you can’t go wrong with any of the items I don’t think. 🥰

มาถูกทางแล้วครับ enjoy lol
After a meal like this, you would never want to go back to Tim Norton
Fresh vegetable shall reduce spicy test and make more yummy when you eat together.
We agree! It made the dishes much yummier 🤩🙌🏼
โอ้.มีแต่ของเผ็ดคุณเก่งจัง🙂นี่เผ็ดระดับคนไทยกินเลยนะเก่งมากๆ
thank you! We love spices, but Southern food is very spicy, haha! 🤪 // ขอขอบคุณ! เราชอบเครื่องเทศแต่อาหารใต้เผ็ดมาก 555! 🤪

This is the taste that Thai people actually eat in everyday life. Enjoy
It’s a tatse we never want to live without! 🤗🙌🏼 Thank you!!
I’m so jealous and salivating. How much was the bill guys?
It was so yummy!! And I think with the 4 curries, rice and coconut dessert at the end it was around 220-240 baht. So less than $10 ☺️

We had spicy food and curry back home in Canada. In Thailand we are learning to enjoy more spicy food. Thank you very much! 🥰
Thanks for the kind words, you made our day.☺️🥰
nice video enjoy your trip bro // thai guy
Happy you enjoy!! Thanks a bunch 😁
I really like to eat dried curry with some strange fresh vegetable that they offer in their shop. that's good balance and good for your health.
The curry was way better with the herbs! So so delicious. And yes very healthy ☺️
Enjoy southern that foods. Mostly southern foods r made with yellow curry powder.
เก่ง กินแกงใต้ด้วย🥰👍
มันเผ็ดและอร่อย!! 😍
Welcome to Thailand
Thank you! 💕
love from me too
❤️❤️
I think one of the ingredients in the last curry dish you had was bambooshoot slices. Cheers!
Ohhhh! That totally makes sense!! Thank you🙏🏼 it was tasty regardless haha!
The secret recipe which make Khai-Pa-Loh (Soy sauce soup with egg) has more flavor and very delicious is "Cinnamon". (put only one piece for one pot is enough while boiling. Put more than one, make it not delicious because its flavor will cover all other tastes (recipes).
That sounds like a perfect science 😍 the soup is so delicious! Cinnamon is amazing but we never thought it would be in soup, how interesting :)
Wow Southern Thai cuisine is something that not every Thai people can endure its spiciness. Not expect that you actually try it. XD
It got pretty spicy for me but we actually really enjoyed it, chase is the spice champion out of the two of us though! 😂
Good luck😁
After I finished watching your reaction to Thai southern food, To be honest.. I was really helpless with the Mama Cup in my hand.👤 I held it like that for a while,😑 before deciding to throw it in the trash... and then start typing this comment.........💻
THIS 😂🙏🏼 that was too funny to read.. I hope you got yourself some delicious good after throwing that noodle cup out lol!

ร้านข้าวแกงไทยจะแบ่งเป็นแต่ละภาค ภาคใต้จะเผ็ดที่สุดเน้นพวกกะทิ ขมิ้น พริกแกง
We like everything, But wow it's very spicy! You have to be careful sometimes 😂 // เราชอบทุกอย่าง แต่ว้าวมันเผ็ดมาก! ต้องระวังบ้างเป็นบางครั้ง 😂🙏🏼
