All those folk wandering around behind them without realising that these legends are cracking out one of the best ever British songs.

The folk wandering around are usually entitled little 💩 desperate to wear wellies in summer and sit on some poor pricks shoulder’s singing to the camera despite knowing the words or even the group or their work. Even got a portable sauna !!! Squeeze are magnificent though, thought I’d just get it off my chest and the kazoos add something you never thought it missed. Glenn and Christ I salute you 👏

Perfect. I know he's a professional, but it's hard to imagine being able to sing this song without crying.

Amazing performance, the kazoo ending really was fantastic, was about 9-10 yo when I first heard this on the Radio, not only has it held up and stayed relevant they haven’t lost anything either. TYVM FOR SHARING THIS !!!

Love these guys ... although I feel a bit sad. As these guys have grown old, so have I, their sound has improved and taken on a different vibe with age. Listening to this song I find myself reflecting on my life, both good and bad. Need to stop dwelling so much on the negatives and look forward to the positives. These guys bring hope .... they were young and immature and now they are much wiser, much quieter and more reflective and carefully measured ...

Agree on what you’ve said, though this song is about reflecting on the past, and due to its fantastic quality it does really stir the emotions

Difford and Tilbrook also represent forgiveness and resolution….they had a bad professional breakup back in 1999….years later realized they were a team that needed to be.

Incidentally I pass through Clapham Junction at least once a week to collect my children from my ex ... a few times I've recalled in my mind Up The Junction and growing up in the seventies and eighties and what good and bad times they were. I show my children the music I use to listen to on Top of the Pops and recall the childhood I had including going to an all boys Catholic school where teachers were once allowed to use the cane, their hand or the black board rubber on you. You were far too afraid to go home to tell mum and dad that you had the wooden ruler across your palm as your parents were likely to give you a smack as well... at least my parents were like this. These times are hard to believe today in the woke society we have created... again, for good and for bad.

I can understand your opinion, but I actually enjoyed the ending, hoping that this version will grow on you and that you do enjoy it at some point, saw them in 1983-84 with my father who got me into Squeeze, am glad I got to see them as they put on a fantastic performance

Was a bit wet-eyed at the poignant beauty of this performance. Was looking forward to the outro. Then those...people appeared doing...that. Whose idea was it? Really gross. Cannot find quite the right words...but "tasteless", "vile", and "disrespectful" come close.
GT did not look especially delighted.
