- I decided to wash these faux locs before installing. It's a pretty quick and easy process . This helps you remove any build up or chemicals used during the manufacturing process. It also helps to soften the hair and gives it a fresher, more pleasant smell.
I wash mine because my scalp is very sensitive to whatever coating they put in the hair to keep it fresh. It makes my hair itch and get bumps and sores
Awesome.. I'm sure it made a big difference.
NaturalHairnamix it definitely does
It does to mine as well. Did i effect your hair growth at all?
I forgot this go around and the hell I endured
Thank you for doing a video on prepping the faux locs prior to installation. I've been contemplating doing faux locs but hesitated bc I was unsure if the locs can be pretreated
You are most welcome
Can you use regular vinegar? @NaturalHairnamix
Thank you so much for making this video. First one i’ve found after searching for about an hour
Wow.. you're welcome.
Those locs were pretty clean pre-wash! I've gotten so much hair where the water turns gray post soak
I always wash my crochet braids before I install them because I like to have a sweet smell on my locs. Not that chemical smell
Right...it makes a world of difference
This helps a lot, thank you
This helped tremendously!! Thank you
Great information definitely will try this method
thank you this was very helpful
You're most welcome
Thanks so much ❤
Thanks
Does the washing help with shedding? I installed them before but it was shedding a lot and I didn't like that.
Do you mean frizzing? If so i dont think washing helps to alleviate that. That's due to the texture and density of the locs. I find that of the locs are too soft and silky they frizz easily.
thank you verymuch
how do you get the smell to leave on the locs? i really hate the way acv smells
You didn't watch to the end🙂 I added conditioner after rinsing out the ACV
How many times have u reused you crochet locs before you have to purchase a new set?
I have never reused them. Always throw them out after one use. These were washed straight out of the package.
I need an answer to this asap, can i do this to cuban hair? The one i have has a tiny odor too it but my scalp is sensitiveand i wanted to know if i could do this to the cuban hair
Absolutely
Have you tried this with goddess locs? I wondered if the ends would hold up
Oh yes...it definitely would hold up..because it's mot being rubbed aggressively it will maintain the curls

I did do a video washing the passion twists and they had curls at the ends..pretty similar outcome
I have very sensitive scalp. I'm scared to add conditioner because of my sensitivity. Is it necessary to add conditioner in the end?
No you don't have to add it.
Can you wash your hair with this hair in or will it mess up the hair?
You can but very delicately with minimal manipulation.
What temperature water do you use? Hot? Or warm?
It was warm.
Can you do this with butterfly locs?
Absolutely
How long does it take to dry?
I hung it overnight so im not able to say definitely but it was dried by morning
I have locs with strands of curl in them. Do you think it would be okay if I do this with them?
Yes. Just keep each pack secured together while washing.
Thank you for uploading! Does this help with the unnatural shine the locs can have too?
Hmmmm... I'm not sure about that. I stay away from the shiny looking hair so the ones I use usually look natural so I am not too certain.
NaturalHairnamix okay! Thank you! I have the same hair as you but in a different color- and it’s shiny 🥺 I’ll definitely try this method and then report back though
I’m using the micro faux crochet locs, will rinsing them with acv cause them to unravel?
I shouldn't think so
I didn't wash my locks before I put them in but it didn't break out my scalp my hand broke out and I use nail glue to seal it is there any reason why the more I touch it my hand breaks down in warts someone help me with this
Sorry to hear that you experienced that. I really have no knowledgeable â to what could have caused your hands to break out. Hope it is better soon or you would maybe seek medical advice.
NaturalHairnamix, how long do they take to dry?
I left them hanging for an entire day .. I wasn't really checking to see at what point they had fully dried so allow at least 24 hours.
@@NaturalHairnamix okay, Thank you for replying back and so promptly! Awesome sauce
Do i wash it in hot, cold, or warm water?
Cool water from the regular tap is what I used. Warm can work too tho.
Can I use white vinegar?
I'm not sure if the white vinegar has the same effect. It's not real hair so you can try it or just use shampoo.
I tried with white vinegar once and it didn't help much. Hoping the apple cider will
