- Hey everybody! I’m here with a tutorial showing how I did my individual crochet faux locs with no cornrows and no wrapping required! I used 5 packs of locs for this style.

How would you take them out ?
You simply find the beginning of the plait at the base, slide it up and out from the loc. Then you can either undo the knot and slide out from the plait, carefully cut just the loop of the loc and it comes right off the hair, or unbraid the plait and the loc should come off.

Scheduled an appointment to get this done. Hairstylist said $250... immediately looked up "how to install faux locs" lol definitely doing this on my own.
Two reasons I stopped getting the regular faux locs 1) the price in MULTIPLE countries was crazy 2) It takes TOO long. I went to crotchet faux locs and NEVER looked back

Absolutely gorgeous. I did this method all around the perimeter of my head, but cornrowed the rest. It turned out well and it took less time than the individual all over.

Thank you for showing the securing technique up close. I went through a few other videos that sped through without showing us how to pull the faux loc back through the loop to tighten at the base. Now I get it and I can't wait to install my locs!! Thank you🙌🏾🥰🥰🥰

hairbug1985 It takes fooooorrrrreeeever to do if you aren't good at it AND you have longer hair!!! I did them and it took me like 10 hours! They looked BOMB though.

I've done this a few times and it works just fine...I've started to cornrow the crown of the my head so that I don't have as much work because I mostly wear these up. THANKS HONEY!

1:32 ooo that is so smart. I've never seen someone do this like you did, usually people undo some of the twist to hide real hair, but this is much faster and easier. Great tutorial, thanks.
Good lord I have been RUclips searching the shortest way possible to do faux without having to twist and I just found one. This is by fair the best and only tuturioal I've ever seen out of a whole lot. You seriously just rescued me from going to a hairdresser which I hate cause I have coarse 4c hair and I hate the way they handle my hair (it hurts)

OMG! I love this method. I did faux locs in my moms hair this weekend. Had no idea what I was doing, just watched a few videos. But I braided her hair all the way to the end and attempted to wrap that braid into the loc. Some locs were really good and some were a hot mess and I could see the braid. But this method seems soooo much easier. I'm gonna try this if she wants me to do it again.
This was SOOO helpful. Easy enough to do by myself in the midst of this quarantine!

I’m gonna have to try this next. I just recently started trying protective styles on my hair since it’s still super short, and I tried box braids first and I had two meltdowns but pushed through, and this looks so much easier then having to continuously add more hair.

I followed this video and it came out great however! This being my first time it took me 4-5 hours just to do 2 rows. I ended up just crocheting the back

I think maybe my braids were too big. But it helps if you pull the ventilator then scoot the hair over it, then pull the tool again then do that again. Idk if that makes sense but it worked for me lmao
