Loving these videos! Can see the love and passion Mark has for the sport. This has to be the best channel on the youtubes. Ed Coan what a legend for standing for an hour answering the questions
If you go beyond the accomplishments and really look and see you'll notice Ed obviously possessed genetic gifts, tenacity, and above all training maturity/intelligence
I hope people take note of the Ed Coan's recommendation of the importance of longer training cycles, especially if you're a beginner, and the whole concept of building a strong base. Longer cycles = more consistent long-term gains.
It means the same thing for anyone, just a beginner would probably be able to progress faster. Like I use a 4-month cycle, and increase intensity and decrease volume gradually over each month. Because it's a long cycle and gradual shift, I have never had issues with injury.
Phil Clarke When you recover and get stronger within 48-72 hours as a beginner why would you set up a 4 month training cycle with monthly increases? It makes more sense to me to slightly increase the weight each training session to continue progress.
This seriously is one of the best fitness channels on RUclips. Been an active viewer for the past month or so and I have learned SOOO much. I'm making so much progress in my training. Much love and appreciation, Mark. Keep it up!
as micha approached the toilet he knew a storm was brewing for he had just ate a hearty meal from taco bell micha had fought a strenuous war but in the heat of the battle he hadn't noticed that HE HAD NO TOILET PAPER OH LORD EVERYMAN FOR HIMSELF
This channel is fucking Epic!! keep producing 100% pure authentic grade batch of content like this!! Love your work... have been binge watching all your videos for 3 days straight and now i am well aware of the my flaws...techniques to correct them and move forward. The best part is that your content is not monotonous. Its engaging, funny, sometimes over the top philosophical but always very informative. Thank you so much for all the information.
I've always dreamed of having gotten to be in that room. I have a special condition, and have ALWAYS wanted to hear what Ed might have had to say about it. Tremendously helpful to have this, content like this has done so much for me over the years. Big thanks Mark.
Ed rocks!!! I'm a big fan ! Your training and the way u take time to explain it is top notch. My training is very similar with only a light bench all else once a week. That's always worked best for me with auxiliary work up until 6 weeks out. You are the best! Thanks brother
Dude is a Fountain of Knowledge ! One of the few positives about the proliferation of the Computer-Takeover is the recording of this type material that would otherwise be lost .
Wow , Ed coan and mark bell silent mike There is not many elite athletes/sportsmen/women in the world that will open up and just tell you their methods This is a tribute to everyone envolved , you are all very genuine people Thank you
Hey Mark thanks for posting such a helpful and informative video both you and Ed Coan are amazing and resilient legends of powerlifting. I gained alot useful information to lead me in getting stronger and perfecting the form of each primary compound movement thanks Brother
These citizens are fortunate, they are learning from the greatest power lifter in world(Ed Coan). He is the Mohamed Ali of powerlifting. A living legend, history of fitness will be talking about him 100 years after he is gone.
the only thing that i got on ed is he never lets somebody finish there question. but other than that he seems like a great guy and i love learning from him
these videos are so freaking awesome. one minor complaint is the sound. Maybe try mixing to mono? it seems that marks mic is panned hard left and ed hard right. no biggies except I listen to these at work with one headphone on. lolz... I work around it by sending it to mono myself.
Yes Yes OH yes! Thank you MARK for the best footage on youtube Supertraining is my Fudgin Favourite Channel. ..sSILENT Mike and Smelly bell for the Win!
I would love to start doing my bent over rows like he shows since it makes sense that it's recruiting more back muscle than your standard Yates type of row.. He seems to be rounding the thoracic spine towards the lower part of the movement a good deal. I was wondering if that's dangerous when moving heavier weight, and what he's doing to brace his mid to upper spine at the bottom of the movement when it's so rounded to stay safe.
Mark I love your guys vids! Best youtube channel hands down. I wish i saw this vid a week ago, I was doing conventional deads, after just doing sumos for about a month or 2, and pulled my lower back. Im sure its from over training, working to often in my 90-100 % pulls. I also think that my body is probably built to just do sumos. Do you guys think I should just stick to sumos, Im stronger in conventional but I just cant pull with a straight back in that position.
How many 12-13 week cycles would one do a year? How much time in between a cycle? Would workouts that target weakness in between cycles emphasize volume? Or would you constantly do cycles to improve all year long?
21:00 Ed: "When ego is in check, you never have a training problem." Cameraman turns and zooms in on Mark Bell.
I don't even powerlift but I think the content with Ed Coan is awesome
Wang Lo Same things apply to any training.
Wang Lo aka you dont even lift
Wang Lo You and I are watching and learning from the Greatest of All Time, how fortunate are we Wang.
Says the guy with the hodge twins picture, they don't squat or deadlift...
Cody Long lmao, right?^ they barely flat bench, too
You can feel Ed Coan's intensity through the monitor...and I don't think he'll ever lose that presence no matter how old he gets.
Never have I seen a channel put out great videos like this, you have really been taking this to another level Mark! Love it
PSTraining *Jim
Thomas Botica Jim is definitely the unsung hero
This was put together by my broski Chis Boar Bell.
Cred to everyone involved, but I guess nothing of this would exist, like supertraining, without the Legendary Mark Bell
PSTraining I agree. This is getting out of control. He is taking shit to a whole new level !!
Please get Ed back for more. I love his knowledge and the quality of these videos! Please pass that along!
ed coan has such simplicity in his teaching methods, the man is a genius

That shot of Mark deadlifting at 0:14 is just perfect for the intro, along with the music
I hope people take note of the Ed Coan's recommendation of the importance of longer training cycles, especially if you're a beginner, and the whole concept of building a strong base. Longer cycles = more consistent long-term gains.
Phil Clarke What does a training cycle mean for a beginner ?

***** Correct. Ideally you alter your programming to be appropriate to your training advancement before you plateau.
Just an opinion. Louie Simmons does his training cycles in 3 week cycles I believe.
Greatness from "The Great". Goosebumps when you thank him at the end, why? I don't know. Most likely because he's so awesome.
This is the best fitness channel of all time. No doubt about it.
Awesome videos lately Mark and Jim and Chris!
Thank you, we are working very hard.
what a humble and nice guy.
This seriously is one of the best fitness channels on RUclips. Been an active viewer for the past month or so and I have learned SOOO much. I'm making so much progress in my training. Much love and appreciation, Mark. Keep it up!

Dude is a Fountain of Knowledge ! One of the few positives about the proliferation of the Computer-Takeover is the recording of this type material that would otherwise be lost .

These citizens are fortunate, they are learning from the greatest power lifter in world(Ed Coan). He is the Mohamed Ali of powerlifting. A living legend, history of fitness will be talking about him 100 years after he is gone.
And he did it at 220.. incredible. Not 400 pounds like some of these guys nowadays.
6:10 Guy looked angry as fuck asking a question rofl!
Alex Sutton That intense passion for something he love (power lifting) in those eyes Alex.
Alex Sutton he asks a question then speaks for most of the answer.
Drew lol, I notice that too.
Drew That guy came across as an ass.
+Alex Sutton He sounds like hes from the east coast. majority of people from there talk like that and seem likes asses to the west coast people
Ed Coan is my hero!
Legitimate q&a sesh.

these videos are so freaking awesome. one minor complaint is the sound. Maybe try mixing to mono? it seems that marks mic is panned hard left and ed hard right. no biggies except I listen to these at work with one headphone on. lolz... I work around it by sending it to mono myself.
Thanks mark for this
Yes Yes OH yes! Thank you MARK for the best footage on youtube Supertraining is my Fudgin Favourite Channel. ..sSILENT Mike and Smelly bell for the Win!
Outstanding
Great video
ED COAN = CANT MISS.
Why does every single video have jacked up left-right audio switching thing going on? It's not a feature.

I just stumbled onto GOLD!
Thanks
Love Ed Coan, seeing him slide in some jokes here and there is the best
Mark and Ed, I really wanted to soak this up but I need Close Captioning.
How many 12-13 week cycles would one do a year? How much time in between a cycle? Would workouts that target weakness in between cycles emphasize volume? Or would you constantly do cycles to improve all year long?
Awesome ed is king
What is the intro music? Its awesome
"We all learn from somewhere, stole it the built upon it"
