Tony Hawk's Vert Alert (THVA) is a FREE two-day vert skateboarding competition and legends demo which attracts the best vert skateboarders from around the world, past and present. THVA is uniquely open to all vert skateboarders to allow lesser known skaters a chance to compete with the best for a total purse of $75,000.
New to Vert Alert this year is the chance for the top three podium finishers to qualify for X Games California 2023.

every contest i see i cant help but being amazed by the level of progression women's skating is experiencing right now. also, japan is just killing it!
Im 45 and tony hawk was my hero when i started in my childhood. And for him to still keep hitting vert! No other xtreme sport star still doing it into their 50's. Hes the man.

@ryans2118 Yes Slater is not a skater. I'm not sure Tony could still win a professional contest against the new generation of skaters though. Kelly Slater won the Pipe masters last year! Kelly is the Goat of all sports. Through 3-4 generations he has stayed on championship tour. Unparalleled

Wow what did I just watch , stand up applause salute , I've been skating along time now 39 years ,and to see how far it's come , it's amazing , skateboarding the most technical sport in the world , and you never get use to the slams , so skating is the only thing Il let hurt me over and over again , salute to the new generation so gifted and fearless ,

Wow, I swear Reese skates like Bob Burnquist in a little girl's body. Just fearlessly chaining no-grab and technical lip tricks. Spins and grabs get the crowd going, but it's these tricks I love to see.

Can someone please explain to me the decline of vert. It's the best way to skate and has been for over 40 years. I would way rather watch an amazing vert line than some street dude try the same trick 100 times until he makes it.

Nosegrind fakie was my favorite. These commentators don't mention the dopeness of these tricks enough. Lot of unique lip tricks

People are giving way too much credit for those bullshit below coping 720 attempts. Despite that slight nuisance this was a great watch and I'm really starting to get into vert.
Sky Brown did a 720 out of the snake run in venice a few years ago. But a first 720 in competition? Sure.
Haven't seen it yet, but I predict women's best trick is a roll in, a mctwist, or some kind of basic plant.

Years ago, in the early days The Xgames I always wondered why there weren't more females in the sports. I'd always figured they could learn to do any trick a guy can do.😊 Now fast forward to the present time and there are a lot of females in the sport and they too are pushing the boundaries of skateboarding. 😊
