- Against the backdrop of the incredible Teton range, Travis Rice's dream for the ultimate snowboard contest finally came true in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
The 1st stop of the Natural Selection Tour was everything we absolutely love about snowboarding.

A manifestation of Travis Rice’s wildest dreams, the Tour’s innovative format will reveal riders’ full creative expression and require a deep knowledge of backcountry conditions to reign supreme. All events will run within seven-day windows to ensure that the terrain is in peak season conditions. Starting off at the YETI Natural Selection at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort there will be sixteen men and eight women dropping into the venue, a complex zone, rich with natural features, which represents one of the most rugged pieces of inbound terrain at Jackson Hole.

What a killer event, thank you Red Bull. I really enjoyed watching everyone throw down, everyone seemed truly pumped to be there to compete.

This is an event that I watched beginning to end, and kept rewinding to watch sections over and over...AMAZING!! This is THE ONLY snowboard contest that actually pulls on my heart strings to go shred. Thank you Travis!
Hail Travis Rice for his magnificent vision. I'd love to see life through his eyeballs. Opportunities everywhere and an absolute work horse.
I would not watch this live but having the 10sec fast forward made it super enjoyable. Really like this competition format.
This event is what truly snowboarding is about. Half pipe (I've seen a half pipe)and slopestyle are amazing but is like formula one it's for the selected few.
Travis's idea did inspire me. Well done Travis.
I hope this event comes every two years back... One year is for the nature to refresh ;)
This is what snowboarding is all about.. style, flow, and using the terrain in unique ways. Awesome event!
Jackson Hole is where i took lessons on snowboarding. The instructors are amazing and taught me how to perform my first 360 so it never hurts to have lessons even if you think you are good.
I love the spirit of these competitors! Let's GO!

Absolutely insane throwdown over these two days. Well done to all the competitors plus McMorris and Sadowski on their wins! Can't wait to see what comes next.
This board was even better than i thought it would be. Very sturdy and nice straps with cushiony base for feet to grip.
Mc Morris ist a Beast that´s for sure and his win is well earned. Still I feel with these kind of events there should be a huge bonus on creativity and style. His run was insane and pure perfection but it was almost the same for like the last 3 rounds.
Fully agree with that, mikkel should have won for creativity, I saw 5 similar runs, mikkel got robbed for his run for sure
@@switchcorkscrew Yep, same in first round of the QF vs Travis. If you take a closer look at it the way Trav caught that 9 was INSANE! He didn´t fall, he made a butter out of it. I mean dafuq?
I got quite pissed here for a moment when Mikkel got his round stolen by yet again the same line with the same tricks by the robot. No offense to Marc, what he does is amazing, but this should finally be about style and creativity and not robotic repeat to perfection..
Seeing those second runs I'm even more pissed! Mikkels run was one of most fun and mind-blowing runs of the day and you couldn't even differentiate if Marc did a second run or they just played the tape again.. they only thing changing being the light. Fuck that. That's the opposite of what I had hoped from that event. At least the judging for the rest of the event was way better.
To be fair tho his final run (x 2, except for the method) was actually pretty cool. If Ben had put down the 7/9 it would have been a much cooler line though

Best snowboard event ever! But they should have let the FPV guys rip the course freestyle & they would have got some epic shots.
Changing of the guard in this event, the legends have officially passed the torch onto the likes Ben Ferguson, Sage & McMo and then you have Blake Paul who's just a smooth assassin

It's fun to ride fast, it's fun to ride powder, it's fun to hit jumps and it's fun to ride trees. This is all of those! This is real snowboarding...We don't need no 1800s ha ha.
Trust me, if they could have done more spins they would have. There is commentary from Travis earlier in the event when he was matched up against McMorris asking if Mark is going to "double up on him". After Travis tried the double back you can hear him talking to Mark in the finish area saying "I knew I had to do something...", implying he expected Mark to do his thing.

Its all about the flat camber with magna traction and asymmetrical sidecut.
fuck that. all about 100% camber. you dont need mag if you have the snap and dig of camber.
@@mrsir1872 Well it really depends man. Im 6'4 250 pounds with size 14 feet. Not a traditional camber board around that feels as awesome as a mag deck for a dude my size. I still have a older Rossignol sultan 165 i use teaching lessons. But its like a 2006 Cadillac cts-v and my lib techs are like a 2018 Shelby gt350r. They both do the same thing but the Shelby does them all better. Its all preference man thats like arguing a blondes are better than brunettes.
This man was walking in Jackson Hole one day. He saw a ten gallon hat on a snowdrift. When he picked it up there was a guy staring up at him. They guy said, 'get a shovel, make it a big one, there's a good horse under me'.

Anyone who snowboards or skis, whether it's a bunny hill or the deep and steep. The challenge is the thing. In this sport it's how well are you with 'Mother Nature' and 'Father Mountain'. Maybe you even been here before but was the snow like this last time? It's always new. The women crashes are the best. lol
