1 heat of 8 athletes. 30 minute controlled jam session. Best run counts, ranked 1 - 8.
Competitor’s will take as many runs as they can within the 30 minutes.

Came here to say this!! Whole Gary is more "skater" I think I like competition skating to sound more professional.
Giving it that flavor seems to legitimize it more.
Think about any sport commentators. They are fed incredibly detailed states, they can talk about the athlete's personal life, history in the sport, state, etc...
Skateboarding should be no different.

i agree- she did try to guess a few tricks early and got it wrong (like nose blunts that were called nose grinds and a back 180 she called a back 3) but it was cause she said it before the trick was completely done

Been skateboarding/been a fan of Xgames ever since I was in elementary school, and I love the sport just as much today! So many great athletes, excitement and energy! SKRRTTTT.

Emilia is the perfecect comentator. The Olympics should take notes, their comentators said things like "that jump was complicated, the bext jump was big". Loved Rozenberg Style, Emilia has better taste than the judges. Juneau is amazing.

Thanks for the heads up on that, I was going crazy looking for the final. I agree with the others remarks that there were a lot of great skateboarders that should have been there but weren’t. Jagger, Pedro, Zion and Clay are a few names that come to mind.
You see all those smiling faces of the skaters? They’re not competing, they’re putting on a show for the audience. No other art form brings so much joy to so many!
dude i went to sweden for a music festival and vans had a ramp setup and was running a small competition, i remember entering it and skating with hampus winberg; he was absolutely dominating the competition. crazy watching this and seeing him not knowing he was already in.
It's so amazing to see Corey doing those frontside flips, I remember when he crashed doing that trick at vans park series 3 years ish ago, what a legend, difficult trick

Skateboarding is just too difficult. You don't see athletes struggle to put a run together in other sports like you do in Skateboarding big air, park, and vert.

Cory Juno is a emeffing gangster man. Best style I've ever seen a park skater have. BTW, Sorgente was doing a fs OVERCROOK on that flat bar. Not a crook or nose grind. Over crooks are so much harder that should have been called right
The world of skateboarding has for some reason accepted overcrooks on rails as nosegrinds (which I disagree with). But that's because it is easier to overcrook on a rail than it is to nose grind due to how the locking / pinching quality of crooks makes things much more stable on a rail. So it's actually much more impressive seeing someone do a nosegrind on a rail than any form of crook as it takes more control.

What happened to big air? We haven’t seen it in a couple years.

I really like watching this, though I dunno whats considered most impressive or not. I can see that falling off the board makes the score become crappy, but lots of the runs I thought looked great end up scoring low :P I wonder what the criteria is.
When will the finals video be posted?
It’s so nice to see a lot of the park skaters wearing kneepads and helmets to protect themselves instead of worrying about looking cool. I even noticed the other day that Pedro Barros started wearing a helmet after skating forever without wearing one and no pads! I hope this trend continues and expands into street skating but that is a far stretch because skaters are very worried about image and the helmet doesn’t go along with that.
I’ve seen so many skaters obliterate their heads by wearing no helmet to look cool and my friend got brain damage as a result of a no helmet slam.
Hoping all the skaters stay healthy and keep ripping amazing skating by everyone !!!!

They had rain delays and made the elims the finals afterward. really dumb honestly

So.. the "roof" is comprised of a) the front lower shot is called the fascia b) the middle of the top is called the ridge c) the sides that go from fascia corner to ridge are the rakes d) the lower sides on either side are called eves. Now you know 😏
