The Man City issue is just another example of how law is breaking down not just in football but society as a whole - one by one individual rights and freedoms are being taken away while the rich just do pretty much whatever they want
So why don't you say the fabrication of these rules (post Abramovic successful model) was a step to take away the rights and freedoms from an investor from investing ? 🤨
no it isn't. Be honest, you have no education in law do you, so you aren't in any position to comment on the law. If baffles me why joe public just make up unsubstantiated nonsense and the legal system operates. It's ok to just sometimes admit that "I don't know enough about this subject to have an opinion" If an individual is charged of committing an offence, they firstly have the opportunity to admit guilt (or in city's case, liability) and if they contest the allegations then they are taken to trial and have their opportunity to explain why they believe they haven't contravened the law. Trials aren't just listed overnight, it takes months, years to bring these issues to Court. That's the situation we find City in. We are in the pre-trial stage. It will end up in Court and City will have to answer to the charges made against them. It's up to the Claimant party (the Premier league) to provide adequate evidence that City have indeed cooked the books and inflated their sponsorships. If they can't do that, then City will walk away without any punishment. We don't live in Russia, China or the Middle East where they'll just bang you up without trial. Count yourself lucky that we at least have a legal system that'll give you your day in court.
How far back in time did you see this breakdown in law. I know if you go back early in British history you will find a lot of incidents of the breakdown of the Law. Stop with this self righteousness indignation, your just a poor loser, get over it

In a world where people take offence at the slightest little thing, I'm astounded that football fans don't voice their anger at these charges. There should be protests at all of Citeh's away games next season. It's bizarre that there's no chants or anything - these charges have been known about for nearly a decade, a decade in which that team has dominated English football. The PL is not a level playing field and Citeh have taken full advantage.

If they're found guilty then IMO a fair punishment would be to force the owners to sell the club. If the owners had owned a club abroad and were found guilty of what Man City are now being accussed of and then they tried to buy a premier league club then they would not pass the fit and proper person's test for ownership.
Great insight. If clubs like Chelsea were not allowed to "buy" success, then United would have won 10 in a row and we would well and truly be the farmers league.
Boring! here in america we like to watch sports and complain about players and coaches. Why is Brittan so concerned about the Business of football and not the actual games and players. Is England such a terrible place that all you have left is to complain about something, I feel sorry for you.
whole situation is absurd. Nobody ever questions Man utds funding source when they have spent 1 bill, or when arsenal spent 100m on Declan rice or Liverpool on VVD or Allison because these are established clubs with high revenues. How does a relegation club go within 10years ish from being 15th, 16th, 18th to now spending over 1billion? only way is financial doping. Ive lived in Britain, Canada and now USA, never met one single man city fan. Ths FA are a disgrace.
This is a joke, this oil club have too much power in this league, FA want them to win forever.......why they didn't show that mercy on Forest or Everton. City manager and players know they have an advantage in the pitch cause they have even the referees on their side......remember that huge penalty against Liverpool that VAR just ignored it......THE POWER OF THIS CLUB IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE IS JUST EMBARRASSING
It's incredibly shocking how Simon Jordan miraculously changed his tone on City's charges. Could a call have been made to him from the Etihad? I am not sure. The bottom line is, City has questions to answer, and all the charges, ALL THE CHARGES can't be irrelevant or wrong. I found it ridiculous to congratulate any of the City's achievements in the last 10 years until we heard the verdict of their charges. The question is, WHY IS THIS TAKING AGES TO BE CONCLUDED? The fact this is taking this long shows there are breaches by CITY.!
Whats absurd is that 115 FC have been allowed to continue as per with this cloud hanging over them! This should have been wrapped up more than a year ago and 115 FC should be playing in the Conference League where they belong. FACT is nobody puts any legitemacy on any trophy and title they win because they cheated to get there.
FACT is its only ManU and Liverpool fans who are outraged. The rest of the world loves seeing those two clubs forced to compete - which was what FFP was meant to prevent.
Simone to say that City should not have the same charge duplicated because the same issues show up in different financial years is ridiculous. Ask Everton what they think about that after the were punished twice for the same offence in different years. Furthermore arent there punishments under the english legal system for publishing false or misleading financial statements. Should city's accountants also face criminal charges. Bottom line is all this makes the PL look corrupt.
I don’t think they’ve ever had any credibility, it’s just a continuous circle jerk of outlandish opinions from so called specialists. Talksport is the loose women of the football world.
It's CHEATING no matter what you call it, the old Rangers were found guilty of financial doping but nothing was done about it, so no doubt City will get a slap on the wrist and still keep their titles which is wrong ! 🤬

Does anybody seriously think that Manchester City, who can't even fill their own ground and whose merchandise sales are dwarfed by those of United or Liverpool, actually generate more money than they spend? Manchester City were rubbish before the Mansour takeover, yet suddenly they have the finances to hire the best manager and sign the best players. And they still claim that Mansour made no difference, and that they would have been just as successful without him? Give me a break!
Whats crazy is Everton and Forrest got punished in real time and Everton got some of their points back. Meanwhile Man C got 115 pending charges and currently celebrating a 4th straight lwague title. Fam, wtf is this?
If Man City's financial gymnastics means that they could afford a motorbike and the other clubs could only afford a push bike, because they stuck to FFP, who gets to the bottom of the road quicker.
The best analogy I can think of is getting x3 speeding tickets on the same road. The court would compile it to one speeding offence rather than charge you 3 times. Doesn't mean you're innocent but does mean you're not guilty of 3 crimes
@@MiguelonZEyeh it’s effectively the same mis conduct but multiple times, or more accurately over multiple years. and when you break it down to what charges actually have potential serious penalties attached then there is about 6 or 7 charges…possibly even less.
Sorry can't agree with Simon. Forest, Everton all been treated differently and nipped in the bud. City should be treated as others have but you can only see a transfer embargo being given out
Fact is there's still 115 charges for City to be answered to and that puts question marks against some of their titles.... Nottingham forest, Everton and others were charged and deducted points instantaneously while the FA just can't get it to charge City....
Everton pleaded guilty. Man City have pleaded not guilty. Even the most braindead of Liverpool fans should be able to find someone in their family who can explain the different processes involved between guilty and not guilty pleas.
The league would only be "complicit in a corrupt league" IF THEY DON'T CHARGE/PUNISH THEM... if a runner in a race is found to of cheated, people don't look at the racing body and say "you're guilty too" unless they allow them to continue running once the proof is there that theyve cheated.
You can also blame City for that! Their entire strategy has been "delay, delay, delay!" They've obstructed so many parts of the investigation that it's impossible to go to court to settle it right now as there simply aren't clear answers to many of the questions that the court would need to rule on. Long story short: even *that* is City's fault! And yes, City are indeed doing in partly in the hope that we fans will blame the PL for the problem, *not* City itself! Don't fall for it! Keep calling out City for its cheating!
Its in City's interests to draw this out as long as possible and the implications for the EPL should they are found guilty is massive. Bottom line is it serves both key parties to kick the can down the road. In the mean time City will keep winning trophies and the 115 charges will continue to be a black cloud over them and the EPL.
The emphasis over the 115 is driven solely by the haters on social media. We have a presumption of innocence until proved guilty in the country-England, as Jim says. No inference as to guilt can be drawn at this stage. The sponsorship matters were decided by CAS already. Simon is spot on. Any good lawyer, as I was, knows full well that you choose the best charges and proceed only on those. In that way you have a manageable trial. 115 is not, which is why it is taking so long.
Quite correct, but don't mistake this audience for one with a double digit IQ. About 90% don't even know why it takes longer to sort out one matter where the club pleads guilty than it does to sort out 115 matters where another club pleads not guilty.
English premier league has turned into a loony bin English media laugh at other leagues, while there own is turning into scottish or german league with 1 team winning I just find all this hilarious, and i do not watch football anymore. I seriously doubt klopp has no idea, as teams and professionals in business world in football must speak behind the scenes about these things. Interesting that he said this stuff though, and will be interesting to see where this goes eventually. I do not care, i gave up watching arsenal in 2002, i just find it all hilarious seeing the supposed top league in the world who forever point fingers at others go through the same as all other leagues. Klopp is tired of football and i do not blame him, he got his trophies at liverpool, and now is leaving. Hilarious though that epl has turned into this one team league, and it makes you wonder what klopp knew, as there is no way that these people at big clubs do not speak about these issues. There must be people advising liverpool on these issues, and klopp must have some idea. German league in comparison is run in correct way. You would never see bayern munich do this sort of thing. English top league is hilarious today, as it points fingers at other leagues, and is turning into a 1 team league.
Chelsea and Liverpool have won the Champs League in the last five years but couldn't qualify for this year's tournament. ManU, the richest club in the world, finished 8th this year. Tell me another league which has that level of competition.
clearly not though? if it was that way around they wouldve been charged with penalties already. it's clearly still innocent until proven guilty as it should be.

It's been absurd to charge City and then piss about handing out consequences, all while other clubs have been dangled over the precipice of relegation with point deductions for more recent seasons. If City are guilty of even a majority of these charges, then banishment from the football league must beckon, or else this is a farce and the competition is brought into disrepute - even more so if City prove innocence
Simon should have said that CAS deemed the NON time barred sponsorship to be at fair market value. The time barred element was not considered. Hence time barring is not a point to be scored against City, yet anyone listening to his emphasis might think otherwise? He's right about the ridiculous number of charges clouding the issue. There are probably 5 substantive matters the PL wanted to keep in the air.
I doubt many people can name three of the charges anyway the evidence hasn’t been made public. It’s a double edge sword, If City we’re completely innocent, they would go bang there’s our accounts take a look. a massive issue UEFA was non-cooperation and that doesn’t look good.

@@NganKriete Correct, but if you are found not to have lied the first year then that clears all subsequent years as well. The poster is correct that some people think it's 115 different matters, whereas, as you say, it is a small number of matters compounded over multiple years.
@alexanderkriete9401 it's all irrelevant really as they are expected to be cleared of the main charges as its impossible to prove, as it would involve high level executives at sponsor companies to be implemented in fraud and all the layers attached to that accusation would just be impossible for the FA
I wish Simon would lose the “City delaying tactic” narrative. It took the PL FOUR YEARS to investigate and bring the charges. Yet he thinks City should defend themselves in minutes. You don’t lay down the most serious of charges as the PL have done and then expect a quick resolution. It just isn’t happening. Also, it’s not for City to prove innocence, the PL have to prove guilt and if they have the smoking gun that gives them a slam dunk, why did it take them FOUR YEARS to bring the charges?
PL didn't delay the charges. PL got the permission to publish the charges after City delayed their responsibility to share documentation. The delay was from City by questioning lawyers & barristers blah blah and nothing to do with the documents requested by PL. City did use under handed tactics to delay the hearing & charges. Do your homework
By UEFA , but the court for arbitration of sport reversed, and lowered the fine as some of the charges were time barred. But CAS still said City’s non-cooperation was unacceptable.
@@adammohamed.. CAS found UEFA to be wrong. The fine was for not cooperating with UEFA who were leaking stuff to the press. Simon said the pl have found City guilty, first I've heard we have been charged yes guilty no.
The 115 charge thing is boring. The real point is they’ve spent the same money as other top clubs except they’ve done it correctly. The charges are because the FA and PL tried to stop smaller clubs from reaching the ‘top 6’ level of spend. The rules are idiotic and were never going to work. They should be questioning Man United and Chelsea as to how and why they spent the same money so poorly. And no, I’m not a City fan
Well, how can smaller clubs reach the top six anyway ? You need dodgy people unlimited money what happens if everyone gets unlimited oil money? Lots of people spending hundreds of millions even billions with no return as only 1 team wins the title. So what happens when the money runs out ? you’ll be left with these clubs in financial ruin that I’ve had 125 years of history they are our clubs they a are not toys for unsavory people to clean their image. So let’s bring in FFP limit what you can spend and have these clubs around for another 125 years. And as soon as the thick twat football fan, understand this the better.
The most/only significant charge is that the sponsorship from Etihad Airlines was inflated. History has proven that completely wrong. The enormous success of Man City and Citygroup around the world have given Etihad Airlines exceptional value back.
thats the problem though, this is from years ago, not sure a future points deduction is suitable, a fine probably isnt suitable either, and i cant see them stripping trophies, as that would open a whole can of worms having to reclassify results, prize money, revenues etc. so if they were to be found guilty, im actually not sure what would happen, they wont be kicked out of the league either, the PL would lose millions in revenue from the amount of global audience that watches city.
