Tell City they can sponsor there stadium for a billion a game but they can go do it in their own league with anyone whose foolish enough to go join them
the problem for city is they agreed on the deal, but now more clubs are supporting City.. Lets face it, Luton will never win the premier league with the FFP!
There's more at stake for the EPL than Man City for this case. If City win, then it reduced credibility in the EPLs arguments of the 115 charges. If City lose, then it might slightly boost the EPLs credibility but really nothing signficant will change ahead of the 115 charges case.
Simon said it himself that Man City is challenging new rules, not the ones in force when the owners purchased them. So they have a right to do so surely. These rules were purely discriminatory against Newcastle (and consequently City) because the old Big 4 were concerned with losing their dominance. What's all the fuss about?
Stefan really is very singular in his mindset. If they win or lose, it has an impact on the next case because it informs the status quo, either the premier league appears corrupt or not, and they can then argue that there isn’t sufficient evidence brought by the premier league to support their claims of misrepresentation. Of course there’s a correlation, the same two parties are involved in both cases. To say there isn’t has the logic of - well I know that you’re getting divorced but we need to assess the implications of your mismanaging funds in our relationship. There’s a separate case for that, which differs from the divorce, or something of that ilc. Of course there’s a correlation, that just seems to me to be common sense. And btw, the panel of people adjudicating the case against Man City will read the news in the lead up to the trial, how can they not be influenced by the outcome of this case?

They’re all defending city in complete blind faith. Can a city fan please admit there’s a possibility they might be found guilty?? Jesus wept.
One of the glaring aspects of the Man City case or cases is that Man City has a legitimate argument. It seems like everyone assumes that 115 charges have been filed that this supports the F.A. in presenting Man City as flagrant and wanton cheats on a monumental scale. But one could show that by allowing Man City to conduct business affairs in a specific way for literally 'years' that the F.A. is, in fact, complicit with the aforementioned transactions. 😂❤
The current case is the culmination of the issues that underpin the 115 charges. It's to do with the unfair practice of inflated sponsorship deals. The rules that the premier league brought into place do not exist without the way City conducted their business when they first came into the premier league so they are very much connected.
This was said weeks ago and it didn't stop his rant yesterday. He's allowed to give his opinion without stating it as a act. City have looked guilty as hell throughout this whole mess. City aren't ruining football the PL did that themselves by allowing a nation state to run a club in the first place. All that's happening now is the inevitable consequence of decades of the PL's own greed they've created a well oiled machine that's too powerful for them to control. There's every chance City will win this particular case fair and square because we're operating in legal and big business realms where what is "fair" in the purely sporting sense is completely irrelevant.
35 years ago all the clubs that were not winning everything made the same complaints about United, they financially dominated the game to a much greater extent than City do now. All forgotten in their "history"
This borson is such a wind up. He attacks other clubs and arrogantly claims to know it all then is proven wrong. Then sits here and defends Man City as strongly as he possibly can. Talk about being a hypocrite.

Duncan is spot on with his assessment. Biggest clue supporting this was the expression on this clowns face and the manner in which he receives Duncan's point of view.
Simon is right. Should be illegal to sell players as if they’re slaves. From now on. Players should just be able to leave their employment with a months notice and sign for any club they want.
Ermmm if two teams are cheating and not adhering to the same rules that everyone else is adhering to.... That should be one hell of a good reason to change the rules.....
The easiest way to balance it is to make sure the owners are private entities. If City and Newcastle were not owned by nation states then most of these things would t be an issue. Aston Villa would be few to bring big investment. The PL would be the most dominant, investable league in the world by a country mile. But nation states have unlimited money, so it suddenly becomes an issue. The PL should have decided this issue when they accepted the new ownership. They knew what they were getting and voted to take the money. This is ironic, because the oil state royal families would have been major investors in the league and teams without owning specific teams.

Why does he not acknowledge that the rules are introduced to retain the sporting integrity and stop the owner sponsoring his teams shirts to the tune of 10 billion to get round the PSR rules. This is what people are referring to when they mention sports washing.
These rules have nothing to do with integrity. Man utd are in 600 million debt are allowed to spend more than clubs with money in the bank.

Lets face it, Luton will never win the premier league with the FFP!
This court case is nothing to do with FFP
There's more at stake for the EPL than Man City for this case. If City win, then it reduced credibility in the EPLs arguments of the 115 charges. If City lose, then it might slightly boost the EPLs credibility but really nothing signficant will change ahead of the 115 charges case.
The 115 totally separate and nothing a court can do about the 115 the epl have the power for 115 charges nobody else

Simon said it himself that Man City is challenging new rules, not the ones in force when the owners purchased them. So they have a right to do so surely. These rules were purely discriminatory against Newcastle (and consequently City) because the old Big 4 were concerned with losing their dominance.
What's all the fuss about?
I love what football has become. The fans are the real winners...

Once again it is absurd to argue that these specific rules punish them after they won 4 league titles. It is insane.
That isn’t their argument though is it? Or can’t you read?
The majority of football fans regularly complain about their club for different reasons. I’m the same. City fans have tunnel vision over this and just cannot see reason.
Jordan must have had a letter from Citys lawyers yesterday
This was said weeks ago and it didn't stop his rant yesterday. He's allowed to give his opinion without stating it as a act. City have looked guilty as hell throughout this whole mess. @peterholden3672 except United, Arsenal and Liverpool who invented the rules to stifle competition, when something doesn't go quite right (such as City blowing them all out of the water by every metric), they change them again and again and again until something sticks. Perhaps if those clubs were run better and had owners who invested instead of extracting millions in dividends they might do better. Until then, the history clubs can enjoy chewing on our dust and anyone else's who are allowed to invest
@peterholden3672 is it funny Peter? Clearly we had to spend a lot to catch up, but we spent well, are now a money making machine and have been self-sustaining for almost 10 years.
City arent owned by a state or country
so basically they are suing themselves

This borson is such a wind up. He attacks other clubs and arrogantly claims to know it all then is proven wrong. Then sits here and defends Man City as strongly as he possibly can. Talk about being a hypocrite.

Simon can be quite clever. He didn't want to embarrass this fella. Slowly brought him to the general point about relation to the 115 charges
Simon is right. Should be illegal to sell players as if they’re slaves. From now on. Players should just be able to leave their employment with a months notice and sign for any club they want.
I heard they are putting pressure on UK government aswell
Interesting that the video was cut short just as it was getting interesting. Not totally unexpected from Talksport though.
It’s not that rules are changed, it’s that rules are changed to stop one or two clubs. Why not stop income from shirt sales!
I have zero idea why Talk Sport keep bringing on a Man City fan who quite literally used to work for them as a Financial Advisor.
