In my opinion, Charles Muntz was possibly one of Pixar's most darkest and dangerous villains.
I think what makes Pixar villains so great overall is how realistic most of them are.

I mean- he did try to kill a kid over some bird
Really tragic and sad that Charles Muntz turned out like that. He could have been such a great man and hero if he had only seen the light at the end of the tunnel and gave up his original goal to get the bird so that he could return with his inventions. A shame he had to die for a goal that was unattainable.

I never realized how much Charles and Carl were similar to each other. Great that you brought it up!
Speed not in face
Charles F Muntz. He never let go of his madness and pain, which consumed him. This turned him from a famous, grandiose explorer to a bitter, wrathful man. He was really quite pitiful in the end.
Pretty tragic villain. Dude just wanted to clear his name, and his decades of isolation with talking dogs that were probably enabling his Crusade have drove him mad.

I figured off the bat that the two old dudes were similar. I felt sorry for Charles up until the point of him murdering others.

It is sad, the scientists made a terrible mistake that turn Charles into a cold hearted murderer.
If he had help and accept other people to help him instead of murdering them, the bird would have been found a long time ago.
Also, his inventions on the collar dogs and how he trained them would have restore his good name and legacy, but he was too blinded with his obsession.
You are right, he could have gotten a camera and record the bird and send it back home. His dark obsession prevented him to do common sense.

@@lucasgameskleijweg3603 Guess being alone and being paranoid that someone will take the credit for his claims caused him to lose his common sense and he lost his humanity. He would have been remembered as a great inventor and a great dog trainer as well that would have inspired generations.

Hi. I'm really invested on how you explained the Villains in all of fiction from their personalities, backstories to their motivations. Just a suggestion: Please do Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man (2018) take on Otto Gunther Octavius/Doctor Octopus. His characterization throughout the game is phenomenal and tragic; in fact there's more to his character than meets the eye. He's, so far, my favorite incarnation of the Doc Ock mythos, thank you :)
Has the infamy also of playing villain to the first Pixar movie at the very top of it's downward slide.
Maybe the guy speaks for himself, but Alonzo Hawk from Herbie Rides Again is a pretty fun villain, have y'all covered him yet?

I agree. There are so many Disney villains you could do analyses on. Like Frollo, Gaston, Hades, or even Prince Hans Westergaard of the Southern Isles.
My respect for Charles' sympathy was diminished after this

Melisha Tweedy is more evil than Charles Muntz because Muntz cared for his dog henchmen, Tweedy was just Pure Evil who only cared about herself and wanted nothing but power.
Maybe do the cook from the first Trolls movie.
