Hiya, as you have found, you send it into Canon you pay a massive price. My R5 died 3 years ago (first Canon cam to go belly up in over 30 years using Canon). It just bricked while I was out on a wildlife shoot. OK check the warranty.. FFS it was 1 month out so I had to pay and WOW, I was shocked, unpleasantly I must add. Turned out the whole mainboard was dead along with a couple of other bits so a total replacement. All in all converting UK£ to $ it worked out around $1200. I know but what could I do? Because at the time the camera was still quite new on the market 3rd party repairers would not touch it, so I had to go Canon. In fairness though they did a fab job, and when I got it back (2 weeks later-and an offer from Canon to lend a camera in the meantime if needed for free) it was like a brand new camera and has worked faultlessly since. The main emphasis here is: If you use a trusted and Canon approved 3rd party repairer go for it, it could save you some money. Canon were absolutely on the nail with regards further support assuring me that if anything did fail they would honour a new 12 month warranty. With regards a flash, 2 years ago I bought the Canon 470EX-AI and OMG it is a game changer. Again expensive but worth every penny, I do not know how it does its thing but it works really well and have not had a single shot fail. I used to use the Godox flashes on my old 5dMK3 but rather than bin or sell them I now use them as slave flashes via a wireless transmitter kit I got cheap on Amazon. 🙂Good luck and nice vid. 😀
That flash looks weird, and only has 1 pin to connect with the hotshoe. I've been using Godox TT685 II "c". It has 5 hotshoe pins that match Canon cameras, including the RP and R6 Mark II. I've been using them for years and never had any issues with the hotshoe.

Do they warranty the repairs for any length of time afterward? I had to send in an out of warranty 28-300 3.5-5.6 L because it would no longer stop down, stayed stuck at max aperture. But that was over 10 years ago and the only thing I remember is they charged me $750 for the service. Ouch.
Interesting Veronica. I have had lots of Canon Cameras and the 5D MkIV and R5.... touch wood, no issues to-date. I've lent my 5D MkIV to my friends daughter as she is a budding professional photographer but didn't have a modern professional grade camera. As far as RUclips is concerned, you do risk attracting RUclips rath with profanity. Avoiding the profanities might help you increase your channels promotion, views and subscribers, just insert a "beep" in post.
How many over 5 yrs .. 😂 .. You must be a serial camera killer. I've been shooting Canon cameras for 45yrs and never had one die on me in all of that time, and have never sent anything off to be repaired. I've used all sorts of on-camera flash units and triggers with no problems over that period.
Just to say that my Canon bodies have all performed as they should with no error codes or failures, and they are all above the supposed shutter actuation life ... the oldest DSLRs (10d & 5d Mk1) date from 2003, and my ever faithful EOS1 35mm body was bought the same year as it was released, all the way back in 1989 .. It's bomb proof.

The Sony ZV-E10 is a pretty good camera actually. I used to be a Canon shooter, but switched to Sony in 2021.
