yeah you are a little bit mixed up, they dont work for Dreamcatcher Company. they work for the original director of Goodnight MV, he has his own separate MV production company.
As some have said Dreamcatcher company helped, supported and approved the making of that homage to Dreamcatcher of "Good Night", also here some few facts, the director of this MV work for a company where the director of the Dreamcatcher Good Night MV is the CEO and both had lot of discussions, Sua, Siyeon and Jiu recommended this homage and cover of Good Night with their Instagram story, in this MV you can see many references from many Dreamcatcher music videos, lastly the Rolling Quartz drummer Youngeun is/was Handong drums teacher. Last cool fact, Dreamcatcher and Rolling Quartz met one when their promotions overlapped one time and even exchanged albums, also Jayoung and Youngeun are hardcore InSomnia's.

And Jayoung's voice is perfect for it, imho. Finally, RQ just did a support stage to Rock legend, Kim Jang Hoon on MCountdown, for his latest comeback 'Ice On Fire'. Which was an amazing gig for RQ, because they really rocked. I wish they'd appear live on a big live stadium with him, at some point. Plus, correct me if I'm wrong, it's the first time he had a comeback after appearing on King of Masked Singer, on the same episodes as 'Coffee and Dough~nut' Siyeon did, on 20190707 and shocked everyone (I won't tell you who he was). That was a fan episode full of hidden rockers! So this comeback was a historic moment for the master live performer. And the girls were there to rock with him.
With this version of Good night they wanted to focus on the 5 senses similar to how Dreamcatcher have their nightmares. I think it’s a good homage to the original and that they worked very well with Dreamcatcher and made it their own version of it. I’m so glad to see to RQ and DC working together in a way like this.
Not sure about the “not making profits” part - it’s in their upcoming album, so I suspect it’s more likely to be an outright licenced version with DCC getting a share of the royalties.
They definitely should make more of their own music too (I'm used to 12+ song albums, in Korea albums are so short!), but their covers are awesome. I love how they worked with the director or Good Night and this may open the door to a joined tour, right? I think both they and a huge part of their fans (diadems) are insomnia too, judging on their comments.

Even Dreamcatcher isn't that big, Amsterdam was amazing, but maybe needs a bigger crowd to be a financial success? Or a lot more countries/venues in one tour. A joined tour is just perfect. I think all the waiting before a show is such a waste, having a double feature would be so much better. A venue should open its door early anyway (to sell some more drinks) and maybe allow a VIP access sound check or fanmeet first? A less known artist may benefit from this even more, as it's a great way to get new fans to learn of your music. RQ has a lot of crossover with Dreamcatcher in genre and also a ton of Insomnia gave immediate support to RQ when they debuted so I think they saw that, were already fans of DC themselves, and decided to do this even if it doesn't bring in a lot of profit itself. It definitely endears the fanbase to them

As a huge BAND-MAID fan, I love finding new hard rock bands who just school everyone in the West over and over, and Rolling Quartz are absolutely in that pocket :) No surprise to see them cover our beloved Dreamcatcher, too, given the tight hard rock crossover.
the ideal k-pop concert would be a live band for everything~ and Dreamcatcher using a live band or collaborating w/ Rolling Quartz on performances would set them aside fr other kpop acts & attract a wider rock audience who usually wouldn't give kpop a second listen. i'm really excited about this pairing & i hope Korea becomes more open to musicians like Rolling Quartz as they truly are talented in all aspects of music. also, Jayoung is an insanely talented vocalist. i fall more in love w/ her voice when i hear her belt out tunes o(^___^)o she was made to rock a stage & the whole band along w/ her to hype up a crowd & dance! i'm so happy you interviewed both Deukae and Rolling Quartz btw Sera, it's fun seeing you fangirl as much as the rest of us!
i found out about them like a while ago on twitter and ive been HOOKED ever since, ive always loved rock and it used to be the only genre i would listen to until i discovered kpop so it was nice to go back, god theyre sooooo good
I knew there will be a reaction xd, They are marketing to people like you, aka insomias xdd I personally like that they didn't make a 1 to 1 copy of the song in the cover but they filled the MV with references to Dreamcatcher MVs of that time.
They're also marketing to people like _themselves._ Rolling Quartz are InSomnia too, especially Yeongeun and Jayoung... I think that's how this cover came about in the first place.
I agree with you that they could've made the song theirs a little more.... But I don't find the same thing here as in their originals. But that's still a good performance.

The biggest surprise was that the video description on their channel said Yongeun is giving drum lessons to Handong. I thought that was so cool.
