Curious about that to more the lines for anyone who takes shots like that I'd be skating around than look behind than be on the chase I feel but could be wrong
MAJONEZ I'm gonna have to disagree your mistaking warm for colour if u really pay attention you'll see that iPhone camera looks like it has a warm filter giving the illusion of more colour when it's just making the pic more orange or heated note 8 also gives off better detail
It looks like the iPhone just boosts the contrast and warms up the colors, which makes for more blown-out whites and dark darks... it "looks" better at first glance, but it isn't really. Which is great for the average joe, but not so much for professionals
I don't think Casey's setup is blocking any mic on iPhone. Back camera mic is not blocked, earpiece mic is not blocked and main mic is not blocked as well. It's strange how unclear iPhone's mic sounds but difference of untouched quality of footage is visible.
Casey explained earlier that he is biased towards Samsung But I think he really was unbiased and showed us the true picture. Both literally and metaphorically! Your hardwork for vlogs really inspires man!
A very simple work around for the SD card for Iphone is the Go Pro Adapter that allows you to import and Export Footage to and from an SD Card from a DSLR or Go Pro. With that said. I enjoy the camera from my Iphone 8plus and the slightly warmer tones. In addition the IMovie Suite allows those users a rather powerful “mobile” editing platform for run and gun Filmaking at events, expos, or overseas.
He is always, always, putting double the effort in every video he makes, like seriously, putting the camera in a corner of a table and running back, then returns.NOt th mention the editing, Casey is the number 1 Vlogger on RUclips
Emily Faithe buy the Rode Microphone for phone or camera... Pro videographer will prefer Samsung in this case, just because they prefer the raw images or video to adjust the color and contrast... With that saturates colors (iPhone video), has no margin to play, but for a common people iPhone video will be better! We don't know The quality of video or photo in low light situations...
*i love my note 8 the thing i have to get used to is the 360 cam i got with it. it's interesting trying to edit and post the 360 videos but i believe based on this test that the Samsung has the win here , the audio is SO much better on the note 8 and the colors are more true on the note 8. not really a fan of the iphone image at all it appears to add a harsh yellowing effect to the video and that's just not cool at all. Nice test rig too by the way. that was impressive! still happy with my note 8 only disappointment so far is the shorter battery life, not a deal breaker with the fast charger around*
Casey, I am blown away by both. It is simply amazing that such great video is possible with a smartphone. I am still sporting the iPhone 6+ and holding off for the iPhone X. Even though I am all iPhone and wouldn't consider switching, audio is important and from your video, Samsung has much better audio. I hope I can improve it in Adobe Audition.
Luke Aguillard they were side by side.... filming at the same time. Go to the shot of the cars driving by and listen when it switches between audio. It's night and day and you can't just make one phone closer than another and it make a difference on a noisy street
Messed with the color too much, really artificial coloring and it's noticeable where as the note 8 gives it the real color...you can just edit colors to make it like the iPhone soooo basically iPhone 8 loses
Not as easy as "better" and "worse". The _Iphone_ camera has a *wider range* or *brightness* it picks up. It also has *higher contrast* and *higher vibrance* , which gives it this warm-y film-ish feel. The _Samsung_ has a slightly more *cold* , blue-ish tint and the image seems flatter, as the dynamic range seems to be smaller. To counter that it has greater *eye adaption* , which is a little closer to how the human eye works; when it is bright inside and dark outside, the outside appears darker, while the inside appears brighter and when moving between inside and outside, the birghtness adapts accordingly (this can be seen in modern video games as well). Another difference in the image quality is the *sharpness* / *softness* . The _iPhone_ has a much *softer* image than the _Samsung_ . Again, this is *neither bad nor good* , just depending on your *preference* or *requirements* , one of the two might be more appropriate. One thing I noticed as well, is that the _iPhone_ *smoothens* out the images more with fast movement, which makes the video appear to be smoother or have more fps, while the _Samsung_ seemed a little jaggedy, not blending between frames as much. Again _Samsung_ approach, which sounds inferior, has advantages, as you will be much more likely able to stop a recorded video at any given moment and get a *sharp image* , while the _iPhone_ video will give you a more *blurred image* . So while I agree that the raw video material with the _iPhone_ looks better and more professional, I do think that the video material from the _Samsung_ has more potential and allowance for higher quality image editing. Thanks for reading :P Apologies for any and all grammer and typing issues, English is not my first language. Also, sorry if I got anthing wrong, I am not a photographer nor filmmaker, just a gamedev.
There's that thing, you can't win against Apple. If the "right" is more neutral colors or more punchier colours, more or less contrast, doesn't matter, public opinion always seems to change to say that the "right" is what the iPhone is doing at the time. This is a problem, there'll never be consensus. But anyway, both are great and differ in their own always, and that's good, the consumer have more options, just change the one you like most. If you really care to teak and experiment there's better options for video, like LG V30, another choice.
I definitely think both phones have great quality. Obviously one phone will have advantages for specific shot. So I think they are both great in their respective right. I'm just glad whatever phone you go with, they don't hold back on great features and great quality whether you get an iPhone or a Samsung. Although I will say, I prefer the Samsung's Audio a tad bit more. It seems a bit more full sounding. Great comparison video, Casey! I'll definitely have a hard time choosing my next phone.
Can't go wrong with either one but Apple really need to do something about their mics. The audio on the iPhone is frustrating, every review I watched it's the same issue.
wait for iphone 11, because 7 8 9, and they will have their first ever "iMic" in a (i)Phone. Unrivaled processing speed with 3D sound recording.. oh wait LG has that already, well ignore LG, we are talking about (i)Phones right now.
I love the iPhone image quality just a bit more than the Samsung, but I do agree that audio from a distance isn't nearly as solid as Samsung's internal mic. Good thing that they both support external LAV mics that you can pick up on Amazon for a reasonable price (roughly $20-25 last time I purchased one). Cheers.
Audio is so much better on the Note 8!! I havn't had an iphone for years but I've been curious about the 8+, camera is great but that audio is a bit of let down!
When filming :) I feel like audio is pretty important to convey the story! I know you can always use an external mic but the beauty of having a great camera on your phone is you can record easily and quickly when you dont have your DSLR on you!
This is a super silly thing to say! By brightness, you mean saturation. And these are just the default saturation levels in both phones, you can adjust it whenever manually.
DAVID WOLF no, the note 8 just has 2 mics and is way better. iphone mic is shit no matter how u look at it, look in other comparisons with no mic covered aswell
You know nothing of video then. The iPhone skin tones were horrendous. So yellow and red. Good luck wasting time in editing trying to fix that mistake of a phone.
Addictedtobleeps and yet it used to be that iphones were lauded for an unsaturated look because it's easier to color grade. Isheeps need to make up their damn mind
Casey!! In the future when you're editing side by side just line up both videos from start to finish and create a new compound clip in final cut. You can then do all of your edits. Once your done with timing open up the compound clip to adjust the crop!! Boom quick side by side editing! :)
Mmmmmm.. not really. Casey just gambles around with his review videos. There still good and upbeat if you’re into that. But with a rig like that and the workflow he’s used to at this point. It wouldn’t take too long to edit.
Mr_Romo how was the mic muffled. There is no mic on the top side where the iphone was touching the note8 and no mic on two sides where the rig was holding the phone in place. Don’t see where the mic could have been muffled.
Lived there for 9 month, don't miss it, good if you are a single guy, but very bad if you have a family, it's just so inconvenient, and every thing will be harder to do even small tasks, so you are not missing out much here, don't let the media fool you.
That’s weird because my audio on my iPhone8+ doesn’t sound muffled as it did In this video. I even tried from a distance as you did for the camera gear wall.
Steve Lee Creative it’s because the iPhone 8 has three mics. One at the bottom, beside the camera , and on top of the phone (the tiny hole at the top). The one mic at the top was being covered by the note 8. The note 8 only has two. The bottom and next to the camera. So the reason is because one of the mic’s was covered. But the note 8 doesn’t have one at the top so none of the note 8’s mic was covered
well I guess what casey means by saying unedited that is he didn't do anything but these mobile devices already have built-in algorithms editing images by default. The flash light test proves that iphone definitely have some operation such as contrast enhancement. So the final judgement is not only on the "camera" but also the quality of the algorithms editing the frames. A camera with no algorithm editing the frames may be better in some sense since a manual editor can make more specific changes on the frames. Furthermore, it is actually not an accurate comparison since youtube videos are compressed and therefore distorted.
so which is better? based on casey's video, i realise that taking far landscape shots, samsung looks better but taking near shots, iphone 8 looks better
ad go for the note, gives me more room to play around on the editing. It has quite the good dynamic range, which really reminds me of shooting RAW images on a Nikon.
I have the iPhone 7+. The audio doesn't sound anything like the iPhone 8. I'd love to know if there was some issue with his specific phone or if the mic was somehow covered. I don't think the microphone from the 7 to the 8 would be that different. Could be wrong, but I'd withhold judgement. As for the quality of the cameras, this is basically an out of the box test. Any professional making a purchasing decision based solely on that, needs to rethink what they are doing. Used to also get this a lot between Panasonic and Sony cameras too. The iPhone was probably using some preset that can be easily changed, as was the Note. Having said all that, I'd lean towards Samsung in general having a slightly better overall handle for the past couple of years with camera technology on smart phones. At the end of the day, it's the overall smart phone environment that should be the deciding factor. There are pros and cons to both. As for video quality - if you go with one or the other, and shoot/edit/color correct well, the audience won't know, or care. For instance, no one's going to stop following Casey if he's shooting on an iPhone 8 instead of a Note. Most people couldn't tell the difference and it has nothing to do with the content he puts out. Death to filmmakers is being boring as fuck. Camera ain't going to help with that.
For me the Note 8 wins. But one thing I noticed in the video(and Casey mentioned it as well), is that iPhone's video was warmer. My iPhone 7+ used to shoot much natural videos than the 8+. Note 8 sure is the winner here. I like to shoot 4k videos on my Note 8. The colors are more vibrant and the audio is far far better. Plus the front cam(which I rarely ever use) is much better. And that dual OIS sure does help.
Winter Mute wtf r u saying yes it was louder and yes louder doesn't always mean but in this case the louder one (note 8) was better with audio (isheep saying dumbshit)
In my opinion: Note 8: -Sharper -More flat colors -Slightly more visual noise -Better Audio iPhone 8: -More contrast -More saturation -Colors feel more 'natural' -Audio is shite Framerates: -Iphone: 4k at 60, 1080p at 240 -Note 8: 4k at 30, 1080p at 60, 720p at 240 OPINION: I'm pretty sure with some color correcting the Note would beat the iPhone but in this video with raw footage the iPhone looks way better because its warmth and higher contrast. Also raw footage might look different because of RUclips's compression
yes. you are 100% right. Just put a color filter on the note 8 and the you have all you need. except the image stabilization. that digital IS is very annoying on that Samsung.
Inside the building I liked iPhone more, but as soon as he got outside I prefered image quality from the Galaxy Note 8. Also sound was much better on Galaxy Note 8.
i would say the iphone 8 has nicer colour and handles the light well INSIDE, BUT the Note 8 has a nicer dim to it outside which makes it look smoother;
No he should've have adjusted it. This review was about what it looks like to just hit record with everything set on auto. The Note 8 was actually picking up a much more true representation of what the colors actually look like. The iPhone is set to oversaturate everything and make it look warmer and brighter, which is definitely not always good.
Casey, I'd love to see a comparison of early Samsung v. New Samsung and early iPhone v. New iPhone. I think that would be cool, because we can see how far tech has come.
The iPhone has a nicer depth of color but the sound is trash. iPhone has better motion capture as well, but I just can't get past the sound. I guess that's because I'm a trained sound engineer and not a vlogger.
Great video, and thanks for the shout out man! :)
SuperSaf TV hi bro. love from Pakistan
SuperSaf TV Casey never steels anything and always credits people when it is due. We love SuperSaf
HI SAF! how its(life) going?
SuperSaf TV lol
SuperSaf TV our turban dude. Sneaking in like dbrand would
Both are just ridiculously impressive when you think about the fact that these are phones.
Brandon Kervin $1K phones
They're not phones with cameras anymore. They're cameras with phones.
deztroyer76 they are, but I love that. And i love the fact that everyone with a modern Smartphone can take awesome pictures and videos.
They're cameras with apps
this is how you review a product comparison, period.
What I really want o know is, when Casey leaves his cameras out in a public place, does he hide his camera? Or does someone watch it for him..?
🤔🤔🤔🤔
Curious about that to more the lines for anyone who takes shots like that I'd be skating around than look behind than be on the chase I feel but could be wrong
Ive always asked myself the same thing
always thought that too
Nah he said in a previous vlog that he just leaves it!
Note 8 is better to recording sound :) but iPhone has better colours on video...
That's problem....
lol i was gonna comment that
MAJONEZ I'm gonna have to disagree your mistaking warm for colour if u really pay attention you'll see that iPhone camera looks like it has a warm filter giving the illusion of more colour when it's just making the pic more orange or heated note 8 also gives off better detail
Iqpsycho well if you just have a better mic than the one attach on the iphone the note will be better 😂🤣 . just jk

Mic of the iPhone was covered
I like the audio quality on the Note 8 and the video quality on the iPhone 8
I think the mic was blocked in someway of the iphone lol
I don't think Casey's setup is blocking any mic on iPhone. Back camera mic is not blocked, earpiece mic is not blocked and main mic is not blocked as well. It's strange how unclear iPhone's mic sounds but difference of untouched quality of footage is visible.
Same dude!
Agreed!
I agree
Just know we appreciate your ass pains for editing this for us Casey, thank you ✌
Hah so true one of the very few youtubers who derserves their views
yhea xd
Think those colours are true yo. Like, I know he works with Samsung but this is kinda right.
Procrastinating hi
How long you think went into this filming and editing combined
The iPhone is too warm and the Galaxy is too cool.
That makes the choice obvious for me I'd rather make cool footage warm rather than try and tone down a warm one, that's just me though
Lol, true!
I think this can be changed in camera settings
Then use the Manuel settings on the note 8 be it cool or warm.
ocean man ikr
The gentle caressing of each phone as the box is opened lol
One of the best comparisons without bias I've ever seen. If only all "reviewers" could be this objective.
Casey explained earlier that he is biased towards Samsung
But I think he really was unbiased and showed us the true picture. Both literally and metaphorically!
Your hardwork for vlogs really inspires man!
Mr IY I agree!
Now look at the thumbnail
Yeah, he said just a side by side. The viewers get to throw in opinion.
...sponsored by Samsung
He said that he works for Samsung so that's why he didn't say anything

What Rode Mic you talkin about? IPhone 8 only got lightning port! No headphone jack!
Grand Master: You only only have to buy an adapter! generic less than USD.3.00
Same!
Buy the note and problem solve.
I think the main difference was the color rendering. Both had a sharp image.
Yeah but the motion blur and diffusion ruined the entire image
iPhone has too much contrast tho, my opinion
samsung looks more real.
The audio though
ugh....audio ?
Hands down the best comparison video on the internet...
*Casey is on fire with these quick uploads. If this is a dream, don't wake me up.*
life is a d r e a m
Apple should really fix that microphone.
Samuel N the iphone mic was probably blocked by the note
Joshhh I don't think so. I've seen another review from another youtuber(Supersaf) and it had the same issue.
yeah i thought the same thing too
Joshhh no because the mic wasn’t against the note phone
Yeh, looking at how he set the rig doesn't look like anything block it too..
can't wait to see what you think of the GoPro 6
where is danny black subsback
May I kindly suggest the Garmin Virb Ultra 30?
completely over priced for what it is

sure why not

it's weird watching 360 video on a computer, it's always so pixelated
Ni K you need to set it to 4k even though your monitor isnt 4k it still makes a HUGE difference for 360 if its not 360 you dont need to bother
I have a Note 8, which 360 cam u have? I got a gopro fusion and it doesn't connect.
@@leahambrocio3511 email samsung support
he picture is better on iphone 8 And the sound is better on Note 8
true, because the iphone mic is on the top and the note blocked it..

My god the Note 8 is killing the iPhone when it comes to audio :O
Travelling Weasels i think the mic r blocked

Travelling Weasels but the camera on the iPhone is better
He could’ve also been closer to the note 8 as a sponsor sense he works with tgem

Look how much better the iPhone pic is in the thumbnail
Audio is definitely better on the note 8 but I think I like the warm feel the iPhone gives :)
NinjaGamer 443 yeah same
True, but you can fix colors in 20 seconds when editing. You can't fix bad sound that easily.
NinjaGamer 443 I agree
Messed with the color too much, really artificial coloring and it's noticeable where as the note 8 gives it the real color...you can just edit colors to make it like the iPhone soooo basically iPhone 8 loses
Also Audio is pathetic and horrible
Audio: note 8, video: iPhone 8+

I liked the note 8 more outdoors but the generally the iPhone more indoors. Also that audio on the iPhone sucks compared to note 8.
Goober and Buddy true
Note 8's audio is not necessarily better, it's just louder.
I completely agree with that.
Goober and Buddy He covered the microphone accidentally
Priceless Boost that’s what I thought too
The BIG question is ... Did Sam actually get you pizza?
gotta appreciate the hard work on editing this video. probs Casey.
The color is much more vibrant on the iPhone8, and it had better focusing. The Note 8 had much better audio though.
This is a super silly thing to say! By brightness, you mean saturation. And these are just the default saturation levels in both phones, you can adjust it whenever manually.
The color can be adjusted on the Note

@RiO My thoughts exactly!!!!!!
iPhone killed it!! but the note ate the audio!!!
I hope you see what I did there!

Sauce Stache No the iPhone just comes with a fucked up hdr filter and the note 8 doesn't
RayBarK nah the iPhones is natural go watch everything apple pro and stop being butthurt
I think the more realistic video of note was better
You know nothing of video then. The iPhone skin tones were horrendous. So yellow and red. Good luck wasting time in editing trying to fix that mistake of a phone.

Great review. Thanks.
iPhone has the best quality. The note seems really faded with colour. Little quality loss there as well.
However, the note has much better audio.
Addictedtobleeps I dont see it. I'm shocked people say the iPhone is better...
I agree
Addictedtobleeps and yet it used to be that iphones were lauded for an unsaturated look because it's easier to color grade. Isheeps need to make up their damn mind
Yah since when iPhone made more saturated videos?!
See to me the iPhone seems oversaturated and yellow toned.
It makes peoples skin look too red
iPhone 8 audio is a glimpse into your future. 85 years old and partially deaf.
Erase OG real shit though
Your not close yet are you. Try 55. At 85 everything is “what did he say, speak louder”.
Can't buy either of it still watches the video like a boss. :D B)
Parth Garg Savage bhai
Same here bro ... and hello from Bangalore
Cool Casey!
How’s your leg tho?! 😭
He probably recorded this before the leg video. He just wanted to upload the other one first because it was more important to him.
I was thinking of this too!!
Samsung audio is a lot better
I think he accidentally muffled the mic, so it was an unfair setup!
Yes he muffled the microphone.
Jeremy Galloway maybe
Lanni maybe
Leoresa Maçastena I know what I‘m talking about. I own a iPhone 8+. He muffled the antenna.
Casey!! In the future when you're editing side by side just line up both videos from start to finish and create a new compound clip in final cut. You can then do all of your edits. Once your done with timing open up the compound clip to adjust the crop!! Boom quick side by side editing! :)
Sauce Stache lol yeah, I was wondering why he said it was such a pain in the ass. Editing still takes a while for any video though.
Sauce Stache That takes too much time idiot
Well because he had to sync every clip he shot to the other. And the were quite a lot of different shots.
Cropping could diminish the video quality, and I think he wanted a more raw comparison.
Casey... That was Excellent.... Your Video has helped me a lot. The Zoom and Color is way better in NOTE 8.
this must have taken agggggeeessss to edit!
that is easy to edit video like this
Mmmmmm.. not really. Casey just gambles around with his review videos. There still good and upbeat if you’re into that. But with a rig like that and the workflow he’s used to at this point. It wouldn’t take too long to edit.
With multicam it's a breeze, you just hit numbers to change camera, just like live TV.
Not really.
*I tried this and got 10k followers.*
INSTAACCOUNTSPY .C OM
I did ask for this review in the last video and 1 day later do we have it. Thats what i call delivering 😀
Jörgen Nilsson we should all thank this guy for this video ^
Casey doesn't do video requests.
NPS. Neistat Postal Service. ;)
Thats predictable... same thing if i ask him for a new vlog tomorrow
+none none yes a man that can deliver :)
I like the iPhone camera but note mic
All Day Sports true
I'm with you!
I think the mic was ok for the iPhone.
It was decent but compared to the Note it was worse
Mr_Romo how was the mic muffled. There is no mic on the top side where the iphone was touching the note8 and no mic on two sides where the rig was holding the phone in place. Don’t see where the mic could have been muffled.
This is the best camera comparison review video I've ever seen. Keep it up.
Casey makes me want to live in New York! 🗽
Chioma Ifezue it’s a nice place to visit but not so great place to live.
League Qw and why
Chioma Ifezue I live in ny
Lived there for 9 month, don't miss it, good if you are a single guy, but very bad if you have a family, it's just so inconvenient, and every thing will be harder to do even small tasks, so you are not missing out much here, don't let the media fool you.
I used to live there, not sure if I can live there again full time, great for short visits.
iPhone: Note 8:
Better video Quality Better audio Quality
Over all great video Casey!
That’s weird because my audio on my iPhone8+ doesn’t sound muffled as it did In this video. I even tried from a distance as you did for the camera gear wall.
It's muffled on every review I've seen.
It may just be that the clarity of the Samsung in comparison seems muffled but probably straight up with no comparison its probably fine
Oh it does trust me. Pretty much every camera comparison confirms that.
He covered the mic with his rig
Two thumbs up for the efforts to make this video.
well I guess what casey means by saying unedited that is he didn't do anything but these mobile devices already have built-in algorithms editing images by default.
Both are slightly different because of color saturation. Also note has noice cancelation.
Noice!
Rohit Eligeti noice!
suppression
so which is better? based on casey's video, i realise that taking far landscape shots, samsung looks better but taking near shots, iphone 8 looks better
Often noise reduction makes images to soft and muddy
I'm an iPhone fan, but iPhone 8+ audio is shit
ad go for the note, gives me more room to play around on the editing. It has quite the good dynamic range, which really reminds me of shooting RAW images on a Nikon.
Now start the fight guys, I just got my popcorn, spend 8min for video, 30min for comments :)) :D
Camera ain't going to help with that.
so Manny cameras, Casey you are a true photographer.
Damn That Thumnail Is Really Clicky.
LOL 😂😂
Mr Insane Gremlin just like his knee
Mr Insane Gremlin
Yea me too
@caseyneistat what happened to the MRI of your knee dude.
Hope the results would be positive. 😊
Ya same and dose @caseyneistat work
hiv positive?
Video Quality on the iPhone is better but sound quality on the Note is much better.
I'm an apple buyer but I have to admit, audio on Note 8 is SOOOOO much better... although iPhone video quality is slightly better
Agreed.
bigrickmachine FINALLY SOMEBODY ADMITS Samsung ISNT 900X WORSE THAN APPLE
Yeah totally agree, a baby of the 2 would make it perfect
bigrickmachine I agree
Note only need some color correction. Elsewise its basicly no difference. Exept note 8 got much better sound
who watched anxiously in case he included details on the knee?
Tim Q meeeee
The thumbnail basically sums up Casey’s opinion lol
B. Singh I thought the same thing!!
Excellent video Mr. Sean Penn!
U can see from the thumbnail that casey's sponsored by samsung!😂😎
It's not as if he didn't say he works for them in the video or anything
so it's not opinionated, but the thumbnail clearly makes it opinionated?
Martti Majuri obviously
I hope your knee is ok Casey
It may be from an arrow.
iPhone for the vid note for the audio
Hey, you inspired me to make a song about cabbage. I've uploaded it to my channel & I'd love to hear what you think :)
louder doesn't mean better
Winter Mute wtf r u saying yes it was louder and yes louder doesn't always mean but in this case the louder one (note 8) was better with audio (isheep saying dumbshit)
Winter Mute I didn’t say it was louder it just captures the audio much better then the iPhone in my opinion
Mike Arredondo The iPhone had better background noise canceling though
Kudos for the hard work!
In my opinion:
Note 8:
-Sharper
-More flat colors
-Slightly more visual noise
-Better Audio
iPhone 8:
-More contrast
-More saturation
-Colors feel more 'natural'
-Audio is shite
Framerates:
-Iphone: 4k at 60, 1080p at 240
-Note 8: 4k at 30, 1080p at 60, 720p at 240
OPINION:
I'm pretty sure with some color correcting the Note would beat the iPhone but in this video with raw footage the iPhone looks way better because its warmth and higher contrast.
Also raw footage might look different because of RUclips's compression
Best comment Ive read today.
I agree completely. You might have a future in reviews.
yes. you are 100% right. Just put a color filter on the note 8 and the you have all you need. except the image stabilization. that digital IS is very annoying on that Samsung.
I feel the note is more jagged than the I, but I dunno. I think I like the more natural look of the note tho.
its optical though.
The subtle message on the thumbnail tho
Inside the building I liked iPhone more, but as soon as he got outside I prefered image quality from the Galaxy Note 8. Also sound was much better on Galaxy Note 8.
Awesome comparison and some amazing shots.
Both seemed to have very little barrel distortion.
AdventureSportFlashlights the wind on the iPhone and the sound quality was very poor
i would say the iphone 8 has nicer colour and handles the light well INSIDE, BUT the Note 8 has a nicer dim to it outside which makes it look smoother;
The note 8 has awesome sound the Iphone 8 has awesome video
Wow absolutely amazing video thanks
THe samsung sound quality is significantly better on the samsung. But I like the iPhone camera especially indoors.
I agree, Samsung has a reputation for dropping in video quality in low light
iPhone video 👍
Note audio 👍
Video goes to the Iphone, Audio goes to the Note
You can adjust brightness and saturation in the Note 8 to match the quality of the iPhone. Just saying.
MischievousMoo then he should have done that before comparing. Just saying
No he should've have adjusted it. This review was about what it looks like to just hit record with everything set on auto. The Note 8 was actually picking up a much more true representation of what the colors actually look like. The iPhone is set to oversaturate everything and make it look warmer and brighter, which is definitely not always good.
Goof Job Casey! Keep up the good work!!
Lmao I got a Google Pixel ad.
Jag Galeai Is a good phone?
Image quality = iPhone 8/ Audio = Note 8
The audio on the Iphone 8 is like having your ears clogged up or covered.
MartiaN IOS invest some rode mic on it should be fine
Casey, I'd love to see a comparison of early Samsung v. New Samsung and early iPhone v. New iPhone. I think that would be cool, because we can see how far tech has come.
The iPhone has a nicer depth of color but the sound is trash. iPhone has better motion capture as well, but I just can't get past the sound. I guess that's because I'm a trained sound engineer and not a vlogger.
AbominableJoshie the mic was covered smarts
Yeah I love iPhone but I just hope that they can make the audio better
I sound engineer who gets fooled by Casey lol
AbominableJoshie the good thing about sound. Get you a rode micro or the rode mic pro plus and your good to go.
AbominableJoshie- I agree that mic was garbage, which can be fixed very easily with a external mic but seriously that sound was atrocious
