Is there a big difference in color and clarity after applying the paper like screen protector?
Yes that’s what I want to know too. I ordered another companies version of it due to not being able to order the 11” original ooerlike and ppl are stating it is different.
@@DarylChangs I used the paper like and if you watch more show/movies I wouldn’t use it if you draw and like to write and like the feel of paper than yes it’s good

I too wonder how much degradation will occur with a Paperlike screen protector on the Liquid Retina XDR panel. It seems counterintuitive to use it on a mini-LED display.
It is really hard to choose when I really like the smaller size but wants the features in 12.9 one

It’s seriously so hard, like I don’t wanna lug around a giant tablet buuuuuuut the smaller one doesn’t have as many upgrades as last year 😭😭😭
There is a psychology behind.. If you choose the 12.9 iPad, the tendency is it will seem small in the long run. 😅
I have a 2020 11” and I would wait for the mini-LED to come to the 11”, so I would skip the 2021. The smaller form factor is that important to me and making the 11” Pro less of a pro is disappointing.
I’m the same. I much prefer the 11 inch but I just couldn’t pass up on the XDR display. My 12.9 inch 2TB arrives this afternoon. I’m super excited but I’m also a little worried about how difficult it might be to adjust to, especially when in tablet mode.
People need to remember that the new screen will only make a difference if the content is actual HDR supported, otherwise no diff in brightness or anything
Except black sections should likely be darker. Not OLED dark, but better than the Liquid Retina.

Great video, and loving the comparison. I have to say, I do with the 11” had the mini led display, but I’m happy with my decision to downsize to the 11” from my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9. The portability can not be matched.

@Tweed Penguin it’s my daily driver. I have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro that I use for fusion and my slicer software for 3D printing. Literally everything else, like photo editing, video editing and media consumption I use my iPad for.

My 11 inch arrives tomorrow and unlike some famous RUclips reviewer, I could only afford 1 purchase, so I will not be comparing pixels, just enjoying 😆 my new iPad 11 🤪.
I am absolutely in LOVE with my white 11” Magic Keyboard for my 2021 iPad Pro. I was worried my iPad Pro Space Grey was going to look weird with the white keyboard, but it actually looks pretty slick. I carry it with me daily, and slide nicely into my purse, definitely way more portable than my old 12.9” 2020 iPad Pro + Magic Keyboard. I was concerned going to the 11” would feel like a downgrade, but if anything, I use it more because I take it with me everywhere. Speaking honestly, there is nothing that compares to the Magic Keyboard when it comes to replicating the feel of a hybrid laptop. Yes, it’s not Mac OS but it’s definitely a great portable option to your daily computing needs depending on your usage. I am still in the market for a new laptop, but I’m waiting for the rumoured 2022 MacBook Air, and then I’ll have the perfect ecosystem for my needs.
I'm glad the difference between the two pleasantly surprised so much. That helps reassure that I made the right choice going with the XDR display for the type of work I do. Can't wait for WWDC to announce desktop and pro apps for iPad!

Out of all the reviews I've watched, this one had the best side by side comparison for photos. Almost all other reviewers said the difference is only visible in HDR videos, but this clearly showed there's a great difference in still photos as well.

Great video. You have a wonderful prescence behind the camera and a true radio voice to match. I enjoy the pace of the videos, the use of all the adjectives, and especially the enthusiasm for certain product aspects. I would make one suggestion regarding the 2 gang wall switch that is *sometimes* in view: replace the cover with a screw-less cover plate. Easy to find on Amazon and they take ~2 minutes to swap out. The look would be more cohesive with white Apple products. Great job.

I'm sure it's just the camera, but when you're viewing the HDR video, the video on the XDR display just looks over exposed... I can see more details on the smaller ipad.
Yep, just the camera. Try to see it in real life to fully appreciate.
Great video Chris and so interesting to see the screens, side by side. The 12.9 inch screen is miles brighter, but is it perhaps washed out? I noticed the colour of some of the flowers in the same video was very different. One screen made a flower look yellow while the other screen made it appear orange! I wonder which screen gave more accurate colour representation?
The "washed out" effect is just from my cameras... really something that needs to be seen in person!!
Please review the logitech combo touch for the 12.9 iPad Pro. The Magic keyboard is just too exp

I don’t really know. I like the size of 11 inches but it would be nice to have the best display possible. If there is not a big difference watching RUclips, the 11 inch is perfect!😃
@@albind8622 I think if you watch a lot of HDR videos on RUclips or HDR photos the 12.9” would be good, but I don’t think it makes too much of a difference in stuff other than that. Also it depends on how big of a screen size you want to play games on. I think 11” would be good for what your doing and being more portable but that’s just my opinion, buy whatever you like!

I’m only ten, and have been wanting a iPad for drawing watching videos, and for school, for entertainment, for etc. I think the 11 inch is the best for me because of the size. I love the iPad Pro and definitely recommend it but if it’s for a kid even if there like 12 just get them a 11 inch because it’s a perfect size!

I'm going to stick with my 2018 iPad Pro 11-inch since the 11-inch M1 iPad Pro does not have the Mini LED screen.
Does the 12.9 screen make a difference if you only watch anime? Like Richer colours ?
I really want the adobe suite on my iPad so bad with that screen and a 2tb cellular version. Yeah, I know I have expensive taste.
I still use & love my 2018 11” iPad Pro. I would have upgraded to the 2021 version IF it had gotten the mini LED screen, but it didn’t so i won’t. I travel a lot & just prefer the 11” size. Hoping Apple gives it the mini LED screen later this year or early next?
Yeah, I agree. Apples most likely going to keep trying to push sales on the 12.9 inch though since it’s their most expensive model, but it would be really great if they could upgrade the 11 inch with the new screen as well :(

@@MrClub08 i woke up early and was lucky to order mine online at the Apple store. An hour later they had no more availability at the store. So it’s like a check every morning thing. Unless you want to wait for June-July delivery.

Hey can you try out the new Logitech case for 12.9 iPad 2020 with the old version I would like to see if there is a huge difference there
I don't have a real preference but for some reason the 256 model is what I'm looking at. What difference will I see in this vs the 512 or the 1T?
And having the M1 is still useless until we have some actual professional level apps on the iPad 'Pro'.
Also what kind of 'pro' device for media only has 1 port and no headphone jack? Give us 2 USB ports at least.
And it might be your camera settings, but the 12.9 model screen just looked overexposed on the highlights, not particularly better at all.
It’s the camera. You have to see it in person.

Hey Chris, would the 2020 magic keyboard fit the 2021 ipad pro? Heard that the 2020 magic keyboard would not close properly if the 2021 ipad pro is used on it due to slight thickness differences?

My iPad 10.5 inch doesn't get warm when I use it all day or when I charge it. I recently purchased the 12.9 iPad. The screen gets warm and the back gets rather hot when I charge it. I took into Apple and exchanged it. This one is doing the same thing. Does your 12.9 get warm? Heat doesn't seem normal to me. Thank you for your videos.
If you put a glass screen protector on an iPad, can you use paper lite over the glass? Will the pencil still work? Can you take off the paper lite on and off?

Out of curiosity i have a MacBook pro (2019 with the touch bar) and want to get an IPad Pro would this work for school/college? Or would the MacBook be better?
Mini LED will come to the 11” next year. The lack of to now is just another typical Apple way of sequential upgrades on core features to ensure people update more then they would typically need. From a sales and profit perspective having it only on the 12” this year and adding it on the 11” next year makes complete sense.

The 11 in beside the 12.9 in - the colours look so flat. Not only less bright but less contrast. I find it hard to believe. He said the settings were the same but is it not possible to improve the picture on the 11? I'm drawing on iPad Air 3 and the colours look great. Even when I printed one recently on my new printer, the colours were the same as the iPad.
How does the new iPad Pro 12.9" fit with the 2020 keyboard?

Hi, is the BLACK/GREY version of the Magic Keyboard of Ipad pro 11, the same as the last year? Everybody talks about the white version, but I wanted to know if the grey/black version had some update or is the exactly the same?
I would like to see if the new display works better than previous displays outside in both brightness and dealing with heat. As the previous displays would throttle the brightness when getting hotter if you use it on a sunny day sitting outside.
I am watching your video on my 2018 iPad Pro - I can see the two brightness. Even the photos look different.

The screen is nice on the 12.9" but its not worth the extra money. I bought the 2021 iPad 11 Pro (Space Gray) with the M1 chip, 256gb storage and 8gb of RAM ....so I'm future proofed for awhile and it's more portable for sure........oh and you'll love the 120hz refresh rate as well! Whatever you do, don't skimp on storage, the 128gb storage fills up quick if you work on it, play games and watch movies. Get the 256gb or more storage!
Wait those spots on the keyboard are from wear? You can’t get them off? My MBP has a couple and it’s only a couple months old... RIP to me
From this vantage point (viewing your video with a nice monitor connected to a MacBook Air), I prefer the brightness/contrast of the smaller (11in?) iPad. It's more mellow, I can discern the details of the flowers more easily.

I got that model on pay monthly. Much easier to afford expensive things when the cost is spread (0% APR). Got it with my carrier.
I got my first 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 inch last year. I was typically an Air buyer or base model iPad buyer. the 12.9 display is really difficult to turn back from. I have an Air 4th Gen as a secondary device and it is just not the same (as great as it is). the 2021 12.9 Pro just looks like another animal.
What about the white keyboard and illumination? I‘m still unsure (ordered 12.9 SG), because I somehow regret that I bought the MBP16 in silver - side by side to my old MBP15 SG it‘s actually boring.
Know that you use Paperlike screen protectors on your iPad Pros. Considering getting it to protect my screen but worried it will dull screen and mute colors after it is applied. Bought 12.9” mini-LED iPad Pro for better/brighter screen so don’t want to loose that. Do a lot of drawing in Procreate so a little worried that screen will be scratched or damaged with constant Apple Pencil use. Can you please do a video or talk about how much the Paperlike screen protector changes the screen view and quality of the picture. Thanks
