Listen, that was awesome. Thank you so much for taking me through each and every tree as I learned a lot and I won't be watching all your videos as I just moved to Florida and I am a 38 year old quadriplegic so gardening became a staple when I got hurt and now I love it 😂 I have just planted my first mango tree on my property and will be getting around to a lot of these in my own .25 acre property 😆
mango trunks are massive when they get tall. i knew the idea was crazy

One thing to be aware of is that the Australians, where the "Slim Hedge" techniques have been successful, use Plant Growth Regulators (PGR's) which is a hormone regulating chemical which keeps trees small and they also can use flower induction chemicals. Paclobutrazol is not permitted for Mango in USA and nitrate spraying for flower induction isn't effective in Florida. So don't expect the same results in our mangos as they get in Australia.

From my experience it won't work with some varieties. Lemon zest doesn't like to be short. I have a hedge of 3, rosigold Mallika and lemon zest. Lemon zest is the only one that refuses to bloom for me. I prune them all the same way every year. I'm going to be top working the lemon zest to a pickering very soon. Great job with your content 👍
Thank you for letting us know about your experience. Yes, Alex and Tropical Acres says it will only work with some varieties also. It would be great if we knew the ones it would and the ones it wouldn't. Thanks for sharing.

I saw in the previous video that he had a few trees in the plants area touching the house... As the trees grow they will grow roots into the house and weaken it
He could get a pickup truck with an 8’ bed, and then take it to a custom hydraulic shop and have a hydraulic dump-bed put on. They basically cut the original bed off, put a ram onto the frame and attach it to the original bed and put it back on. Its’s tricky to get the right size ram. If you want to lift one ton, you get a 4-6 ton ram.
Lots of places you get to go in the commercial dump-truck lane at the dump. Saves hours and lots of work.
Enjoyed your video. Amazing property. This may seem farfetch and or time consuming, but just a thought, those are some well matured trees. Wouldn't it be nice although once again time consuming to propagate some of those mango trees limbs, root them and share with friends and family instead of throwing a lot of years of hard work away. Last summer I propagated my 15 year old loquat tree,it rooted near the base of the tree and I passed that tree on to my niece. Just a thought not to take away from his beautiful idea.
This reminds me that i used to tell people that some of my thoughts were "far-fetched", but that i wanted to go out (further than others are "used to") and get("fetch") them. The faith to try, coupled with the hopes(/"prayers") for the good to come, and the love of good(care for the creator and creations) seems to make many great things attainable.

I was unable to locate scionwood this year of this variety. and Ichi ki kai jiro. Will be prepared this winter.
So mineral oil and baking soda for 98.8% of the mango deceases. Great to hear.

When trimming the trees just rent a skip cut & load & dump the branches in the skip & remove it off site
I enjoyed your video and I love watching them. I was wodnering where you got a few of your trees as another South Florida native. Specifically the persimmons, the Indian or the sugarcane jujube, and the mangosteen. I'm in Broward County and can't find any nursery that have them near me.
I get my trees from many different places all local. I make videos with all the people I get my trees from and put their contact info below the videos.
Have you tried Tropic on University near Atlantic Blvd in Tamarac? Tbey are so knowledgeable and helpful. Nursery is a mini botanical garden. Good luck!

He needs to get a chipper so that he does not have to worry about filling up the yard waste bin. Also it will allow him to recover his nutrients in the form of mulch.

I would ask Julian Lara at Lara farms that question. I personally only use my compost to fertilizer most of the time

Also, do you think that info at 26:33 pertaining to earth elements(minerals) and the man digging that coral rich ground(since it was technically living at one time and would then need minerals to do so) was the reason for the lack of the condition you'd mentioned at 24:54?
One way to dwarf a mango tree and produce more fruit is to girdle or cincture it.
hey I'm in west palm and this season I'm hoping to try out some awesome types of mangos that I've never had before, I find a ton already by me but where would you recommend I go to purchase a wide variety of mango types? I'd love to try orange sherbert, peach cobbler, etc

Do you think this info will also apply to avocados? Do you know if anyone has tried to heavy prune only half of the tree one year and then heavy prune the other half in two years to maintain some production?
I know you can keep avocados small but I don't know about the hedges for them

You can in a pot, as long as you can keep it above 40, Pickering, Angie, Dwarf Hawaiin, Julie, to name a few

different sizes but there trees were right next to each other maybe less than a foot from each other
