Whitney often interrupts to talk about her freaking eye shadow or to tell someone not to bang on her stupid table and completely changes the topic in the MIDDLE of someones response. • @lights84
    @lights84 3 года назад +292

Nikki: "I watched a friend in high school confess his feelings for my close friend and giggled while she had to tell him she didn't feel the same way. Then he killed himself with a rifle he had showed me and my friend and his suicide note said it was because he couldn't be with my friend. Then my parents told me I shouldn't mourn for him or cry because I didn't know him well enough. So I don't cry often."
Whitney: "My assistant watched me cry recently."
Simultaneously burying the most interesting story of the episode and making the conversation into some banal anecdote about yourself. Whitney asks some interesting questions but the cycle of: guest begins an interesting thought -> Whitney forcefully interrupts them -> Whitney talks about herself until she thinks of a new question to ask the guest -> repeat, is beyond frustrating.

I've gotten used to the fact that Whitney interrupts her guests a lot, and is sometimes a little extra (or a lot), as if she was on Adderall. I think it comes from being excited to have a nice conversation. What I can't, get used to, is how much more aggressive she's become since the beginning of the podcast. Her last appearance on Bert's podcast where she replaced Tom, was near impossible to watch. And she was also a bit like that on Steve-O, Barstool, etc. True, Bert knows nothing about being woke and he's a bear (it's in the title), so he said things the wrong way. But instead of taking said things like a joke, or roasting him in a playful way, she got super offended and became so, so aggressive. She was even insulting to him, the success of his podcast, his crew, his intellect... She was mean, pretentious and condescending. That's what I can't get used to, and she wasn't like that before. She needs to tighten up regarding those aspects, because it made me unsubscribe until things change a bit. Respectfully. And the worst part is, I'm not even a fan of Bert's, I had never watched his podcast, I was a fan of Whitney. But mean, lesson giving, demeaning Whitney? No thank you.

@@buffywasright I noticed that too. I was a HUGE fan of hers. But the more exposure she gets in this medium, the more I’m inclined to think that if it’s not about her, she can’t be bothered. The 2 Bears appearance was brutal. And for her to say it’s because she’s a woman is insane. I’ve criticized Joe Rogan as well when it looks like his emotions are running high and he’s bullying. In fact, I commented on that on his Nikki podcast and on one of Whitney’s. He seemed intolerant and combative towards her at times. I think it’s pretty obvious to all of us that they are comedians. But it’s not some exclusive secret club with its own language that none of us understand. To say, I’m a comedian, that’s how we talk, is a cop out and I truly believe that Whitney could be better than that if she wanted to.

The Germ Theory was never actually proven to be 100% accurate, yet the trillion dollar medical industry is entirely based on that theory. What's the CAUSE of death in people with this "virus"? Does their brain explode? Does their heart stop beating? The CAUSE of death is still pneumonia. Pneumonia is not something you can "catch". You DEVELOP it, just like you develop cancer. It's a biological result of being "scared to death" of something. Think of it like an internal wound that you can't see, but when it starts to heal (when the traumatic event dissipates), the healing of the wounds in the lungs will cause pain, mucus, blood, fever, headaches, coughing, etc. You don't show the symptoms of "disease" until you stop being panicked and afraid. These symptoms usually show up 1-2 weeks after you've relaxed and resolved the upsetting event. The cause of death in Small Pox was PNEUMONIA. It wasn't from the acne cysts. That's not enough to kill you. The only people who developed Small Pox were those involved in attacks...Indians and military. The FEAR of being attacked or the attack itself CAUSED the pneumonia. Small Pox doesn't exist today not from a vaccine, but because we don't go around attacking tribes anymore.
Governments around the world are CAUSING fear frights, thus CAUSING all the illnesses, aka Boogey Virus, in everyone based on an unproven THEORY by one man, Louis Pastaur, who redacted his claim of the germ theory on his death bed, yet no one listened. The US is following an outdated theory that's 100 years old and has not questioned or retested that "science" since then. They believed In witches and curses back then!! Could it be because a Ca-Zillion dollar medical industry profits on following an outdated "science" model?! They've been using the same cancer "treatment" for 80 YEARS. They can't think of something besides POISON in all this time?!?!
So of course, when everyone is allowed to escape the hostage situation the governments have put their people into, and they start relaxing about the "scary virus" that's not in any way transmissible, they will begin their healing phase (get sick), and believe they then have the "scary virus", and more panic will ensue as well as martial law. The longer people allow this government to hold them hostage in their homes, the more severe the "sickness" will be. Western Medicine is pure fraud, and people's lives are destroyed because of it.

Thank you for addressing our feedback, Benton. I'm so glad that our comments were received in the spirit that it was intended. I can honestly say that 99.9% of the YT comments do not come from a place of hate but from fans who genuinely want to let Whitney know what is & isn't working for them as an audience because they want to stay (& when that sometimes spills into a little frustration, it's only cos it doesn't feel like we're being heard). When Joe Rogan first started he didn't listen/spoke over ppl too, but then he found his groove & once Whitney does as well, it's going to be amazing! Seeing Whitney brush off some of the genuine & important/core feedback was a little disheartening but I truly hope that she will re-listen & take them into consideration. Please be in no doubt that we're all still here cos we love & want to support Whtiney. I came here initially as a fan of her comedy, but I just want her to know that, for her podcasts, she doesn't need to have this pressure to be "on" or "hilarious Whitney" at all times. She can do that for her adverts in between, but podcasting is a different medium, skill & listening experience. You can still be humorous, which often occurs naturally in a genuine back & forth... The issue has always been that we've only ever had the "forth", & not the "back". We love her questions, we just want to hear the answers. Much love.

She gets such great guests and I think if they drain some energy with a more "Best friends only" podcast, then the show with a special guest might feel more like the second show of a comedy line up. I don’t think it’s that the therapy talk is boring, but Whitney’s version just seems very self-indulgent, repetitive (spitting the same lines from self-help books every episode) and there’s too much projecting onto otherwise well-adjusted guest, who as far as we know, didn’t sign up for amateur therapy. It’s not the topic, it’s how and how often it’s presented.

YES. It just gets to the point where instead of her using her therapy knowledge as a lens to reflect on someone's life and stories, she uses it to project things onto her guests. It comes down to Whitney's love of control, I think. Instead of leading the conversation the way she wants it to go, it would help if she gave the guest more room and for her to listen. That said I'm so glad she's trying to learn from the comments! Hopefully she implements some changes.

Yeah her guest appearance on 2b1c was a smidge painful. I think she was trying to be funny, but Bert's back was up, the entire time. I had to stop about 3/4 through and haven't gone back to finish. But I think overall, her energy and Bert's energy, just aren't a good fit. They're both really big personalities, and while I know Whitney knows how to step back and let someone else shine, she didn't seem to want to, during that episode, and Bert does not share a room well, at all. She did a solid job of letting us see Bert, as he is. Not going to lie, it wasn't his best light. I especially didn't like how he was, in her stories, when she posted on IG of the setup, for 2b1c. I thought Bert was super rude and dismissive to his production people, while they were trying to setup. It might've just been an off moment, but it was a bad vibe. I hated the episode, with Bert, on GFY. It felt like pure chaos. I feel like the majority of the episodes of his solo show, are much of the same. 2b1c is also chaotic, but Tom is just the right level of straight, to balance it out.

As a woman, it’s not a “woman thing”. Would say the same thing to a man, prob more so because men seem more aggressive. It’s that the tone of the show sometimes gets cringy. When you ask a question and then before the person answers you tell them what you think their answer is and then they have to disagree and then defend why they are not what you tell them they are. I think it’s just deciding what kind of tone you want for the pod. Do you want an interview or an interrogation? Both are question and answer but very different tones.

This is so correct! How have I literally never heard this sentence? It's so true. Everyone is funny, everyone has a sense of humor, normalize that. Funny is subjective, of course, but everyone is funny, to someone, or in some way. We all create humor, it's as human as crying. It's a form of emotional expression that cannot, by definition, be exclusive. Everyone expresses humor, it is one of the core emotions of human social bonding and one of the tenets of human civilization.

Even if there is an expert like lex for example she will need to find a way she is better. Like in that episode talking about codependency and saying she is an expert in that. It seems like she usually needs to be better than who she is interviewing. It seems like there is an underlying need to control or feel good about herself that is off putting. It’s nice when she interviews someone more famous like Hillary duff where she treats them more like an equal and gets more silly and there is less pretentious energy. Love the content just trying to give my feedback of what I was just telling my girlfriend about what I think when I listen.

Personally I appreciate the psychology and deep issue talk. It's what makes this podcast stand out. If people are expecting fun light hearted conversations or straight up celebrity interviews maybe they're simply listening to the wrong podcast? If I listen to Whitney's podcast I'm expecting to hear the guests through a Whitney filter.

@@jetjet6560 I love the psychology too, but I agree here. When she had those two members of the vlog squad on, it was soo hard to listen to! She spoke down to them and pathologized them the entire time. I think we can have the psychology/neuroscience speak without it lasting the entire (hour or so) episode. A happy medium would be nice.

I have no idea how to communicate this with Whitney, but there seems to be a correlation between nasal congestion and ADHD; and other similar related....illnesses.
Something about the O2 flow to certain parts of the brain are weaker than if the airflow thru the nose was not congested.
With a simple surgery where soft tissue is removed from the sinus will result in more O2 to certain parts of the brain; something that can be detected on a brain scan.
Since I am not a Doctor nor a Neuroscientist, I had somewhat difficulties to accept this first time I heard of this, but I will trust those people that actually do and recommend this treatment: Doctors and Scientists.
I did recommend this to someone with ADHD, to ask and talk to Her Doctor about it: and She became much better after the surgery. More alert.
