  • Here we have a super cool truck that I am so glad I got the opportunity to film! (I hope I got the title right btw, let me know if I’m wrong and this is actually something else). This is a former City of South Euclid unit that was now ran by Cleveland Heights. They mostly were using it for recycling. I don’t know the year but I’d guess late 70s to mid 80s. Now that they’ve gone automated I don’t know if they still use this truck or if they even own it still. But I did see their MR Leach RL out earlier this week presumably on yard waste. They haven’t gotten any new RLs yet but I heard they were going to within the next few years. If they are done with this truck, at least I filmed it while I still could. This is not all the footage I have btw, I have more that I will upload later at some point

Wow, this is one insane catch, great job! It’s incredible how after all these years those cities out there maintained this truck so well. Even though the packing cycle is slow as balls lol, looks like it can manage a recycle route like that with no problem! Neat watching it around the snowy setting as well. Although like you said it doesn’t run anymore, so glad you got to capture this classic on camera!

You should check out Rumpke in East Cleveland some time if you ever get the chance! They run some cool rear loads out there!

This truck was always my favorite to see driving by to grab yard waste when we got our cans. Too bad the trans went out and is now deemed irreparable.

Sweet find! Cool to see a classic like this, would be nice if this is at least still at the yard. You know of any other local yards that may by a truck this old for manual if they sold it? Great video!

When was this truck built? That is cool that the driver let you film the interior.

Why is this so exciting? Yeah, cool truck, but it's an old, slow pos.

You got it. It’s a cool truck, and it’s a old truck, still in operation and still working. Looks great for its age too. It’s probably serving a small area so it makes not sense to put it out of commission if it still works fine for it’s intended use. Don’t be so negative.
