An epic like Ben Hur!! 36 minutes of bargain homage loving gold!
I had a lot of fun with this one. A few months in the making, gathering all of these in the one place, but worth it, I think.
Obviously, a $50 Invicta is only going to get you so close to a Subby, but how close? To be honest, I think the winner here today was the Phoibos, with the Ginault a different kind of second. At $299 the Phoibos is a good watch and does have a degree of similarity with the Roller. The Ginault is frighteningly close in some ways, and wears BETTER than the Roller, but it is over a grand. But when you get down to it, there is only one Rolex Submariner. Deservedly the King of Watches. Cheers, JOMW.

    Hehehe...the "Rolex Experience."
You know, here at age 51 I have figured a few things out.
The first television I was old enough to remember in our family home was black and white. As a small child, I had no idea I "needed" color, until we got our first color TV.
Just ten years ago, when I bought my current home, I moved over my 36" old school "thick TV. It was only five years old at the time. I had no idea I "needed" LCD and HDTV until a few years later, when I walked through a damned Best Buy.
So, as of RIGHT NOW, I am sure I will be quite happy with my Steeldive 1953 Submariner...unless someone loans me a Rolex fora weekend. So here is my wish: I wish for every friend with a Rolex to keep them to themselves!!! The last thing I "need" is to find out I "need" a $30,000 watch!

Thirty seven minutes and it flew by. What a thoroughly enjoyable and informative vid; absolutely first class work.
Without doubt this is the best watch review channel on youtube. The effortless delivery style disguises somebody who is really on top of what they are doing. A class act. I love watching someone who clearly works really hard at their craft (whatever it might be) and then produces work like this. Every word, view counts. No superfluous bloody moozak, no wittering, no fake selling, just honest watch talk.
Keep it going because you are a delight to watch. Quality such as this is rare but much appreciated and 100k subscribers will soon be here and well deserved.
(The Cadisen Conquest by the way is running like a dream and the accuracy is PHENOMENAL. If it stays like this it will be the best thirty quid I have ever spent. Many thanks.)
    Tip o' the hat Jody.

As much as I dislike the Invicta, the Seiko NH35 in it is actually doing really well. The rate never varied by more than 2.4 seconds a day in your timing tests. It just needs to be slowed down a bit - you can screw the back off and do that pretty easily yourself. Back in 2008 I bought a Sandoz subbie from the Poor Mans Watch Forum. It was the Singapore version; had a sapphire crystal with cyclops and a Swiss ETA 2824-2 with incabloc, cost $US225 back then. Still runs great. Merry Christmas Jody and fans!

I converted my scalloped bezel Invicta 8926 to an Omega Planet Ocean homage by removing the Invicta logo from the case, replacing the dial, hands and bezel insert. Total cost of about $140 not including my labor. And I already owned the tools from many other mods.
Cyclops is easily removable with a second or two under a butane torch or a bit longer with a heat gun. Residual adhesive can be removed with a bit of acetone on a rag.

Owning two Rolex Submariners I can say the Ginault is the star of this group! Bracelet, case, dial, bezel movement and lume are close to Rolex, the unknown movement has worked wonderful for me. Ordered the Ginault when it first came out at a heavy discount just because I wanted to check it out and it's been great, I've even put the bracelet on my early 90's 16610 Sub for a few days and it fit perfectly! Another awesome review!

I have two color ways of a Nautis sunny homage that only cost me $50 each. They wear great and keep perfect time...because they have a quartz movement. I get more compliments on the green one, but I like the orange one too. No hassle, no worry about banging it around. I’m happy with them both, as well as their big brother chrono. And I absolutely love their stealth diver. It is beautiful!!!

I was very impressed with this review as you get into the details of movement, crystals, size, bracelets, lume and timekeeping, very good. Its interesting than you test the watches timekeeping using a winder, which isn't a real world comparison. It will be warmer on your wrist, will be kept fully wound all day, then will be left in a variety of possible positions, overnight, running down while it does that. I have a watch with a Seagull ST2130 movement in it (ETA 2824 clone) and it runs perfect all day (I regulated it myself), but will lose or gain up to 2 seconds overnight, depending on its orientation. Currently, if I wear it and leave it 3H overnight, it runs spot on. I bet any of these watches could be regulated to run nearly perfect, the variation seemed to be very consistent for all of them.

Thanks for the review! Although I am not a fan of the Mercedes hands, I admire Phoibos for having a bit of originality to their homage by having the framed date window instead of the cyclops magnifier. To eliminate so much or the weight, I'd pop it on a NATO strap.

I watched your videos regarding the Invicta Pro Diver and because of your good recommendations, I bought a model 8932 (quartz) and hoped for the best! I had it now for about 6 months and only "fiddled" with the watch at the end of the month (when the date had to be chabged) and when we changed from "wintertime" to summertime and... In the whole period the watch was only 1 sec. out - and still is! Not daily, weekly or monthly, but during the whole period! It must be the best "low price" watch I've ever owned! Thanks for the great revue!

I have the Loreo homage piece and it came with an accuracy of 7.7 sec fast/day and for the easiest budget point, the Loreo is a great watch! For $70 delivered, it's a great nice looking budget watch that gets the job done. The movement is great so far! So glad you included this in your review! Thumbs up! BTW, my Loreo sub had settled to about 5.5 sec fast /day and it's been that way for over a month now, happy with it.

Just to add a little. I'm using loreo sub for last 2 years and the movement is really good, doesn't dance around when setting time and about a minute gain per week and still got around 40 hours power reserve. But i miss hi-beat and lume, the second hand feels much smoother and attractive in 28800bph.

I have my Invicta pro divers for 13 years and they run fine. My Rolex cost 100 x more, ran 5 min slow/ day on delivery due to magnetizing, and took 6 weeks to calibrate. It’s in a different league, but is it 100x better?

The Phobios has such good performance because the movement inside is the Miyota 9015, which is an awesome high-beat (8 ticks per second) automatic. I absolutely love the Miyota 9xxx series, I have a genuine Bulova 96C142 with a 9110 (day date, 24h and power reserve indicator) that gets accuracy of 1-2 seconds per day. Currently looking for another watch with one :)

It might just depend which Invicta Pro Diver you get. My parent's got me one as a gift and the loom is very comparable to high end loom

Off topic, but could you please inform us about WATCH WINDERS? I cannot find any that are reasonably priced!

Agree I just end up choosing one out of the case and giving it a shake and setting the time and date ! Except for my genuine Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean which sits in a winder.

Another fantastic video. Wow, that Squale for a brand known for their casing, that finishing is unacceptable.. especially when compared to the Invicta with an already lousy case brush. The Phoibos punches way above it's price point!

Sekaro makes one, you can get it from AliExpress for about $60. Don't know about the quality of those though.

Are there any sub homages with an engraved ceramic bezel (preferably pepsi) and black enamel face? The Ginault bracelet is very very nice.

You should try the Invicta 9937 with sellita movement, less than 300 dollars, sapphire crystal and swiss movement, it can be bought for 170 in black Friday. That's a terrific watch, mine is 10 years old and keeps runing like a champ

Don‘t understand the Ginault pricing. On this range you get a Tag Heuer or Omega used but good conditions and thousand other Swiss automatic watches. Ginault doesn‘t make sense to me.

I ordered the tisell with the date. I thought for 230 was a great price with shipping. I will have to wait a few weeks I think. Mail is super slow this time of year. The PHOIBOS is 70 USD more. Same movement I think. Both 28,800 VPH.Was a hard decision really. Thanks for the review. Nothing really is going to beat the real Rolex submariner but most people it is out of reach and probably why these homage watches do so well. Ginault I took a look at was 1500.00 USD. Before a discount. Congratulations on 50K subscribers!!
