So inspiring! Me and my wife were looking at getting a tandem bike and this video has just helped us decide to get one! Thanks for the awesome awesome video!
My partner and I cycled the entire stretch of the Manali-Leh highway with four others finishing off with the climb up the Khardung La in August 2015. As you menntioned in your video certain things you just couldn't prepare for, the crazy dreams, the tingling lips ( one of our cycling compatriots who is a doctor said it was from taking diamox to help allay the symptoms of altitude sickness) the truck convoys and the condition of many stretches of the road tested you to your absolute limit, but was an experience we will never forget and hope to do another himalayan adventure in the next few years. Thanks for sharing.
You both are amazing ! An truly lucky to have each other . I wish I could find a women to go on adventures like that with me lol .Always happy cycling and Forever Enjoy Life .
Dear Laura and weyman , first of all i would like to greet your attempt , passion to the cycling and also you are one the most lucky husband in the world!!!!!!!. You people made ME to think- "' The life is endless, with unstoppable adventure "( Thanks a lot for visiting my country)
Bernie and I have followed all your trips. We are on the tandem and getting a bit older so our trips get a bit shorter. After 41 years married we do maintain and offer up the advice that which ever way your relationship is going a tandem will get there faster! We are heading off to Canada for a short trip next week. Congratulations on your wedding and always peddle on in all you do. We love your videos and we do want to come ride in Australia. Hope we can make it down under before we go under, or the old folks home!! Take care.
Whoa. Now thats called a Love filled adventure. Some of the scenes right from Indiana Jones or even better. Greets and lots of love and respect from India. You guys have made me buy a cycle (bike) and I have decided to climb the K-top. Keep on inspiring. Regards
Simple and beautiful travelogue. People in India have hardly seen any tandem bike so they get excited when they see one. and, if i was in Laura's place, i would definitely want to switch seats, atleast during descent. Cheers to you guys..nd your adventure spirit. Keep travelling, keep exploring, and keep loving. nd be safe.
Thank you for this video, I enjoyed watching every minute of it. I thought the views would be at least a hundred thousand by the way it is shot and put together! You two look lovely, and I'm really happy that you managed to complete your epic journey! I'm a little bit more inspired now to take on a long journey of my own.
Isaac Alogov Thanks for the kind words Isaac! I hope you go on a epic journey you will never regret it! Bicycle travel has changed our lives and the way we look at the world :)

I’am into touring not bike packing but in the States. Really like your little tandem setup. Not many are willing to tackle India. However, the people are really nice. Om!
Lovely job....Keep up you guys......Not sure if you'll are aware of AWAKENING a strange fetish for CYCLING UP TO KHARDUNGLA among all CYCLING ETHUs......Keep up the MARVELOUS WORK.
So basically now two more passes has opened which are way taller than khardung la. Mana pass and umling la pass(5850m) high. Anyway love your feed. Thank you.
Hey you two! I just finished watching this entire video. Great job! Where are you going to go on your next bicycle touring adventure? I'm off to Colombia soon... and then back to Europe after that for another 6+ months of bike touring there.
+Bicycle Touring Pro Hey Mate ! Cool to have cycle tour royalty watching our vids :) It was great ride up there for sure! We have been loving your Nordic videos of late - it looked like a great trip. Laura and I are going to the Philippines in April. Laura will be doing some work for PETA based in Manilla and I will try and see much of the place with a bike as possible. But no big tours planned at the moment. Too busy working for the MAN! Hope we can all catch up one day :)
FANTASTIC VIDEO! 👍👍👍 ❤️ Some days ago I joined Austria's Hochalpenstrasse on my BiCYCLE 🚲. At the top you have the view to Austria's highest mountain: The GROSSGLOCKNER. NO TRAFFIC 🚌 🚐 🚙🚗 🏍️ just COWS 🐮 (Thanks CORONA 😷) 😀. Best regards from AUSTRIA! 🏔️
Hello Ashley and Laura from Idaho. We really love watching your videos! Congratulations on your accomplishments and wedding. We just bought a Co-motion tandem with 700c wheels. You would love it. Take care and blessings.
You should have also travelled from Leh to Srinagar . There exits the bloody Zozila pass, the most adrenaline rushing pass in India and the route is very scenic too.
Dear friends it is nice to see and hear you aga,n even if on the screen. This road is my dream and hope one day to go to the top of the world. Thank you for this hihg quality video. May be one day we can meet again.

Wow, that's a lot of miles on flat handlebars! Bar ends, for sure! You haven't considered drops? A friend of mine rode 'cross the USA. A few hundred miles in he was cursing his flat handlebars. BIG mistake. But kudos to you two. You make tandem couples look GOOD! Happy trails twogether!
Hello! Thanks for the great video. Enjoyed it so much. Any plan for the next trip? I own exactly the same tandem with you and am planning trip to Camino de Santiago next year with my wife. and was Wondering what is the bar end shifter on the stem for?
+theflyingcyclists hey thanks for the reply! not sure if drum brakes work with cables, as i have never used it before, but if it is, what if you use this one? www.sickbikeparts.com/Products/Dual%20Pull%20Brake.html going down hill two persons & luggage is a little two much for only v brakes alone i guess. i have disc brakes on my bike, but am going to have v brakes mounts welded and going to use the dual pull brake lever.

Diamox doesn't help against AMS and it's very toxic, it causes neuropathy (inflammation of the nerves).
great great great ....

Nothing says love like "hey, stare at my back for 10,000km."
+wahwah1013 ahahah!
and,"Fire in the hole"
LOL! :)
but the starer gets the last laugh because enjoying the sights and pretending to pedal isn't nearly as hard as actually pedalling.
and say something, hey honey.. kiss my ass please... lol

Great video and ride! I have a pair of the same tandem. And did across USA and Canada but never thought of doing Manali- Leh! It's incredible!
Touring on a tandem is about having a special relationship with each other, your bike and the world, good work.
Thanks for producing and posting. Nicely done.
My kind of love story. Respect for the time & effort in getting the footage - and nice job crafting the story after the fact.
WOW, WOW, WOW. You two are simply AWESOME. 11,000 feet more and you would have climbed the equivalent of Mt. Everest in altitude. Much respect!!!
Very inspirational ....not only the physical effort was impressive but the way you both coped with the challenges. Congratulations even years later !

Hehe. FYI they keep developing the mountain roads and it's much better now. But still some roads are filled with slush and stones.
@@pulkitkhetarpal6720 and the glasiers literally wash away the road
