My dad never got to name his Jeep before he passed away in August. It is a 1987 YJ that I’m purchasing from his estate with his life insurance, and because of that, I’ve decided to name it Daddy’s Money. He absolutely loved this Jeep and I couldn’t let it go. When I drive it, I feel like he’s right here with me. People will read the name thinking I’m a spoiled brat but only few will know the story ❤

@@trade504 honestly all of my vehicles are old. Got an 88 Bronco II we daily to work and a 03 Chevy Silverado 2500HD in the driveway for highway. Electronics are just unnecessary in my opinion. It’s sweet that you were able yo get your dad’s CJ! I’m also sorry for your loss too.
My condolences on the loss of your father. I also purchased my dad’s Jeep when he passed away last year and named her “Claire” after the female lead on the show “Outlander”. I too feel like he is with me as I ride around in it so I’m happy to be able to keep the Jeep in the family.

The moment my 4 year old saw my Jeep she screamed "Bluey!". After a while the name has stuck, literally. We replaced the hood decal with custom BLUEY decal. Bluey is a character on a kids show. A Blue Heeler puppy who is characterized by her abundance of energy, imagination and curiosity about the world.
Recently got my first Jeep; a small gray 2-door sport 4x4. I'm a Navy veteran so I wanted to give it a name that called back to a previous ship or aircraft I had been attached to. I settled on DD-214 (the name of the papers you receive when you get discharged). I'm also a Star Wars fan so it sound like a droid. It fits and that's what matters.
As a Retired Navy Seabee, I'm diggin' that name. As landlubbers, we were far removed from shipboard life, but I knew a lot of fleeters and learned the fleet lingo. Surprised you didn't go with "Haze Gray and Underway". 😂 or maybe "Boondocker" or "Scuttlebutt" or "Bulkhead" or "Med Cruise" or "Sea Sick" or "Bug Juice" or "Shellback" or "Bos'n" or "Deck Plate" or "Dinghy" or "Swabby" or "Squid" or "Doggin Wrench" or "X-ray Zebra"...I've got a million of them!😂

My old 2004 Rubicon in Electric Lime Green: Hulk! It had a calm demeanor, but on the trails turned into a monster. My new 2018 JL Sport S. Still waiting on the name to come to me.
I just bought my first Jeep. Eeekk! So excited. A black soft top 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. Getting a Celtic wolf imprinted on my tire cover. So excited to join this community. Can’t wait to figure out her name. Drives so smooth.
Mine was “the Great Pumpkin” from the moment I found it. The Lord willing, I will have her for many years to come.
My 2012 JKU is Moribus. This Jeep came to me through my Aunt and Uncle who lived at 8300 feet on top of a mountain in Colorado. The reached out to me on what vehicle to buy after they lost their house and vehicles in a forest fire. They loved their old outback but it had its draw backs in deep snow. They purchased this Jeep after talking to me. A few years later and my aunt had to move to assisted living and my uncle passed away from heart failure. I purchased the Jeep from my aunt. It was still all stock. The cover on the spare tire had the 12 point compass star with the words "Jeep the adventure begins here" on it. So when searching for it's name I wanted to encompass something from their time owning it.
One day I started looking up the word Adventure in different languages and stumbled across Moribus. One of the meanings in Latin is Adventurer. The name instantly stuck. Now it was time to design the name. The "M" is made up of two mountain peaks - A reference to their house on top of the mountain. The dot on the "I" is the twelve point compass star from that tire cover and the S is a river.
So all together the name shows all the terrain from high to low, includes a method of navigation and the over all name means adventurer.

Their son bought some property on the same mountain and we buried their ashes underneath a tree we planted on the mountainside.
There will be many more stories for this Jeep. I can't wait to see what they are.
Just purchased my first ever Jeep a few weeks ago. Sting-Grey 2022 Wrangler Sahara. It took a couple weeks, but, since it's a bit of a fancy Jeep and the name reminds me of my time in England (and my daughter's favorite hot tea) it is now known as "Earl Grey"

82 Cj was my first vehicle.. in high school all of us named our Jeeps, fjs, trucks.. but we always used serious names..an almost always a girl name. only recently im seeing things like "terminator" or "destroyer"..

My 2015 JKU is Predator. It’s Baja Yellow, lean and mean, and well, being a part of our family and us being from Tennessee, it is also a hockey fan.

Yeah I was the same way. I named my Jeep Commando at first and I didn't like it. It was yellow so I thought hey Don't Tread On Me....boom now his name is Tread Lighly. Definitely felt that fit was better.
Our bright white 2016 Rubicon Hard Rock 2 door is named Hamilton. The first weekend we owned it my wife loaded 50 honey baked hams into the back of it to deliver to all of the fire stations in our county. Hamilton to Ham Wagon.
I just got my first jeep after wanting one for decades !! it’s a 2015 Sahara unlimited , nice fat, tires, and wide stance , the color is Hydro Blue 💙⚡️🚙 the car spoke to me. I drove past it. I had to drive back and get a picture. I drove away. I called the dealer a week later he took my trade and now I’m a proud owner of the blues brother !! 🕶️😎 first of all it’s my favorite movie and Jake blues played by the late great Jhon Belushi .. now if I can get the vanity plate … JK Blues !! I hope 🤞🏻
My friend had a 1963 Mercedes and we called it the blues mobeel after the blues brothers movie. Your comment brought back great memories cruising around in the Merc, going diving up the coast and meeting young ladies in the 80,s.😅😅😅

Just bought my 1st jeep a 2012 wrangler Artic edition her name is Beti the YETI and her decal reads YETI APOCALYPSE. She's one of 1113 ever built.
I'm big into ham radio. In ham radio we use the international phonetic alphabet. So I named my Gladiator "Juliet Tango" which is the phonetics for JT, the model for the Gladiators. Juliet for short. Juliet is equipped with a VHF/UHF radio with APRS capabilities and a GMRS radio. I'm looking to add an HF radio soon. Having great communications in the Jeep has proven to be very helpful.

I'm 53 and this is my first JEEP! 2018 Wrangler Sport S 2 Door Fire Cracker Red. I was toying around with Red Diamond, Blood Diamond, Red Rambo, and Red Rocket. Wife said no to that one after pointing out our dogs red rocket. Then I said Big Red Dawg, after the Georgia Bulldogs. Then my niece said Clifford The Big Red Dog. I said maybe but then when we went to baby sit my nephew's 6 month old twines what was on TV? (Clifford The Big Red Dog Movie) Now the hood is going to say "BIG RED DAWG" and down the drivers side of the windshield will have CLIFFORD.

Have a 2000 Cherokee classic (xj) just called him Blue. Its the color of the exterior but its what feels right. Its simple and sturdy and has never failed me. Anytime something goes wrong a simple "your my boy blue" will get me through

My Jeep has a motto. My brother died 8 years ago this month. He died BASE jumping in Norway when his chute didn’t open. He was an Adrenalin junkie to beat all. He was also on Portland Mountain Rescue and rescued more people and recovered more bodies than you would care to count. He had a heart bigger than anyone. So with that I will always “ live like Leming”

My 16 Rubicon’s name is Gremlin.. don’t get it wet or feed it after midnight.. Got an action figure of gremlin “the flasher” on my dashboard instead of ducks… I think this jeep will be part of family for generations, too much fun to drive off-road 😊

Our 17 JK is Hood labeled MARATHON because we hang out a Marathons on weekends a lot. However the best name I've seen on a Jeep Rubicon was a Hood Label MEXICON, I laughed my butt off for weeks over that one. I loved it!!! I believe every name should be original not like any other Jeep hood. It's important to be original.

You’re definitely right about all jeeps having personalties. Just bought a 21 Gladiator some days she wants to go fast other days she wobbles all over the place until I slow down. Haven’t thought of a name yet, but it will come.
I had a 2011 HD Dyna I named Duchess because she only drank premium fuel and had to have expensive parts 😂😂
My first Jeep was a 2018 JKU. I named her Lorelei after the siren in Germanic folklore that lured the sailors into the rocks. Up until I bought Lorelei, all I had driven were German cars.
After I sold Lorelei, I went back to my German cars, but I got a 94 XJ who is named The Mistress because she’s my ride on the side.
My 2022 Rubicon XR with 2" mopar lift and 37" K02s in white with black grill, fenders and top is named Ytka (oot kah) Russian for goose. She honks at other Jeeps and is known to ruin lawns.
My ‘22 gladiator is named Stanley, one for my nostalgic attachment to memories of time with my grandpa who was never without his Stanley thermos of scalding hot coffee, even 100 degree days out fishing, but also the other part is the attitude of Stanley the honey badger, it didn’t take long off the lot for Stanley to earn his name…..Jeep should get with the Stanley company and make hammertone green a color option. I went with crystal granite

We named our 2014 JKU Sahara (Black on Black Hardtop) "Dark Horse". An unexpected winner. I have also seen the term described as - Someone who doesn't like to brag and boast or outshine others, but who ultimately outshines their competitors in the end.

Love this. My 2015 JKU (Firecracker Red) is "Paw Hauler". Lately I've been thinking of changing it because I don't bring my dogs with me on the trails, but they are a huge part of my life.
My 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL is named Sherpa after the best mountaineers in the world. My 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is named Griswold because sometimes always went wrong on our road trips.

I hear what you're saying about the Jeep's personality, and I've never named one of my Jeeps before, but I recently picked up a 2006 LJ. I'm naming it "Identity Crisis," because it's VIN says it's a 2006 TJ Unlimited Rubicon, the axles and transfer case say it's a TJ Unlimited, and the previous owner swapped the computer because it already failed, so the PCM says it's a 2005 TJ Unlimited in a color which it is not.
I named my Jeep, (Silver 2015 Rubicon Unlimited 5.5" lift) The Pork Chop Express. It just came to me. I was going to call it Tin Man because of it's silver color, but it just didn't have that certain something.

Betty White, Stone White 99 TJ. It's a classic, so was she. Both temperamental but loved as well. My daughter loves it. It's her first jeep. Won't be our family's last.
'04 red TJ Rubicon named juggernaut. Like the comic villain. Slow, loud and not the most pleasant to ride in but once you get moving, nothing slows it down.

Funny that I came to name my 2009 Sahara “Buddy” (bought new) only after driving it for three years. And nearly 15 years later and 222k miles later, he’s proven to my best buddy on all of my roadtrips in North America. Today, he got a brother (a new JLU Rubicon) that I already named “MAP”, abbreviation for the French “Mon Autre Pote”, which means “My Other Buddy.” And, nope, “MOB” definitely isn’t a good name at all. 😆

I just purchased a 2023 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. It’s high velocity yellow. His name is Tweety. Looks cute, unassuming, but can be pretty aggressive lol😂(like me)
I just picked up my first Jeep Wrangler Sport. 2022 with a butterfly design in the grill. I named her Butterfly!
I had an epiphany while watching this video. I recently bought my wife a 2024 Wrangler Sport. We've had the Willy's package before, but we decided we can customize the sport exactly how we like. It's already loaded inside with all the bells and whistles. Aside from major upgrades like lift kits, bumpers, winches, etc., my wife is excited about a grill insert or new grill, and maybe some graphics. The color of her Jeep is one of the two grey colors offered for 2024. It's the darker of the two with the khaki like finish. Whenever people ask me what color jeep I bought my wife, I generalize by saying it's kind of a smoke grey. We live in eastern Tennessee near the Smoky Moutains. There is no letter "e" in Smoky Mountains. Initially I was thinking to simply call the jeep "Smokey", but when I saw the "WANDERER" decal with the mountain graphic above it, the words 'Ol Smoky' popped into my head. A custom decal with some mountains above the words 'OL SMOKY" would be pretty cool. My wife has the final say, as I bought the Jeep for her, but I think she'll like it.
My ‘79 CJ5 is named Ol’ Goat, my grandpa use to raise/sell boer goats. And he used the Jeep to transport the goats. And the was a big billy goat we had the when we would drive in the pen he would always say “watch out for that old goat”
I recently got a snazzleberry mojave gladiator. My 4yr old nephew came up to me and gave me a small duck. I never even knew about the jeep/duck thing until my sister said she read about jeep owners leaving ducks on eachothers jeeps. She said My nephew saw it when they were in a store after she told him they would find one for me. I think he actually kind of nailed it. It is a red duck with a little bit of a tail almost like a dragon. I figure the color goes great with the jeep and just a most jeeps I figure he probably runs a little warm and doesn't mind playing in the water. Plus, might be a little awkward but is excellent at what he was made for. So......The Fireduck!
I recently bought a used 2010 Jeep Wrangler. I've never had a jeep before and felt like I bit off more than I can chew. I'm short and the jeep is pretty high up. Anyhoo, I accidently named it. I was doing a little video on how a short girl gets into a big jeep. Without even thinking about it, I called it My Red Monster. :P
I have a 2001 Cherokee JK. Her name is "Sarah Jane". Named after my best dog ever that I lost 2 weeks before getting the Jeep. RIP Sarah Jane. Love you forever.

My first Jeep I named Goldie or Goldie Girl because it was gold and the one I have now is firecracker red so I named her Ruby…I was going to call her Ruby Roy after a character from one of the Kenny Rogers Gambler movies but I decided not to 😊
My first Jeep that I had any length of time was a teal blue CJ5 that my friends said I rode around like it was a mule. That soon became Bessie the blue mule or just Bessie for short.
My first Jeep was a 2001 TJ Sport Patriot Blue. I named her pretty quickly Little Blue Hawaii because 1 she was Blue. 2 I was doing a Hawaiian Theme with her and 3 my mom was a huge Elvis fan. The second Jeep was a 2005 LJ Rubicon also Patriot Blue. Her name took longer to come to me. I tried dozens of names and nothing stuck. One day I was driving down the highway and a new song came on by my favorite singer Kenny Chesney called Wild Child. I listened to the lyrics and they matched both me and my Jeep so Wild Child was born. But I was also a Breast Cancer survivor and someone bought me a Boobicon Sticker as a joke because I had decided not to have fake boobs after the real ones were removed. So her nickname was always Boobicon.
My current JK is a 2015 Oscar Mike edition. It took me awhile to name her as well. The previous owner was in the Air Force and his sticker was still on the rear quarter panel so I thought I’d go with a military theme name but couldn’t find one I liked. Again I was driving down the highway and listening to the radio and a Bon Jovi song came on. Lost Highway. Hmm that fit. So that’s her name.
I have a 2020 charcoal grey 2-door. Its name is Ghost. It just had that vibe, but it took me a few months to find that name.
I had some old transformers emblems that you can stick on cars, and I got a dark gray gladiator. I put on the emblems and I decided to name mine Ironhide, after the transformer. The transformer is a big dark pickup, so it fits. It was kinda neat, since I named mine about two weeks after I got it
my jeep is a yellow and black 2004 tj it has 12.50 33s original flares and i have Dirty Deeds on the hood kinda easy to figure out why the name great music great fun

My 2019 JL Sahara is called Hulk. It is Mojito in color and the big tires can Hulk smash.

there's this call of duty game and there's a army truck people call Bertha. and I have been in 5 car accidents and not a scratch on it so over time it got its name Bertha

My son gave me a toy lizard named Kilroy, a lyric from the Styx song Mr. Roboto. Its been in every Jeep I owned, so the name stuck. Also a throwback to the WW2 caricature drawn by soldiers, sailors and marines during the war

Our 2018 JKU sport is named Bear 🐻 because when we bought it the jeep was setting on 35 x 12.5's MT's and my wife said it looks like it has Bear paws. Plus we love the Smokey Mountains.
They are, as biased as a native can be, the best mountains! I drive a semi for a company out of western Missouri, and don't get near them near enough. Just so happens I've gotten three loads across them in the last week and a half, and I've been happier than a pig in sh!t the whole time, too! Lol The Smokies have a way with people.
Fun fact: thr Appalachian mountains are part of the Scottish Highlands, and some stupid amount of time ago, ran uninterrupted by the ocean.

My white 2018 Jeep JKU (Freedom Edition) is named “Wampa”. Wampa is the “Yeti” type creature from Ice Planet Hoth on Star Wars. I wanted something that was a little more discreet then “Yeti”, feel like there would be Jeeps out there with this very obvious name, and I didn’t want people thinking I named it after a cooler brand. Only one person in 3 years has gotten the reference, most have to ask what it means. I love my Jeep and I love the name I chose, because it really is a “big white beast”.
Now that's cool. And I would have had to ask myself. Clever. 😀

My Jeep is Mojito Clearcoat and her name is Roxanne. ROXY for short .
Had a '99 YJ for 22 yrs. Her name was beastie bi***. Finally had to retire her in 2021 due to multiple spots of frame rot. Her body went on to revive a friends '99 YJ. Cried my eyes out watching her being driven away on a car trailer. Just purchased a black JKU couple months ago. Been having hard time coming up with name. Thought bout leaky jeepy cause doors leak terrible. (Gonna get the upgraded seals, hoping to resolve that issue). Then Jeeple for Jeep people. But grandsons say it should be Momma Grizz, cause that's what my kids have always called me. Thinkin I might go with just Grizz with some claw marks. I've already added a gladiator grill & opar bumper. It's got a 3" lift with 37's on it. My Harley was Doozer, which is also my nickname given by a dear friend years ago that passed. My black 2 door overlanding JK is called Rocks Anne. I used to have a big crush on a stripper named Roxanne about 35 years ago. I woke up from a dead sleep one night and the name Roxanne came to mind but that's when I made the spelling change. Most people sing the Police song Roxanne when they see it.
My first Jeep was a '96 XJ, and it felt like a Royal Navy ship in comparison to my previous car, a Corolla. I knew the thought was corny, so I decided to name it the "HMS Pinafore", after the operetta by Gilbert and Sullivan. The trouble is, I was later t-boned, so I purchased a "dead" '91 XJ and I've been in the process of swapping parts over. I've swapped the radio, lights, switches, weather stripping, wheels, the whole engine, I'm in the process of swapping the brakes and realizing I might as well swap the entire rear axle (since that of the '96 is stronger) while I'm at it. I first wanted to name my resurrected XJ the "Columbia", but it has so many "Pinafore" parts that I run into a Ship-of-Theseus problem! Is she the "Columbia" or the "Pinafore"??

Our 2012 JKU is named, “Spike”, which my wife selected shortly after we bought him new. The name is labeled on the hood sides and looks good! My Son’s 1997 TJ is named, “Lil Bobby”, who isn’t so little anymore. Both have over 3” of lift, mud tires, and get Ducked often. My Daughter’s 2015 JKU Sahara is white on white, (or black with her soft top). She finally named hers, Princess” or something, but we call it “Barbie”, even though it too has a 2” lift and mud tires. It’s the name the rest of us called it before she named it, and, well, it’s a Barbie Jeep. Always will be I think. Lol…
